MacBook Pro :: IPhoto Is Being Difficult With Exporting And Previewing

I recently bought my Mac Pro off of a friend. He still had it under his name, and I changed it to my name under system preferences. I think it messed up the uploading, exporting, importing, and viewing of my pictures. I can upload them to the computer fine, but when I go to export or view them in iPhoto, all I get is a black screen. Exporting, and it tells me unable to create "users/(friends name)/documents/" I don't want to lose my pictures. I've already tried to rebuild the library with iPhoto Manager and with iPhoto itself.

How do I export pictures from Mac Book Air to a Hitachi external hard drive. I have used the export function from i-photo but it will not transfer. However, when I use the export function to put the pictures onto a 4g usb stick it works?

I am trying to export a 10 minute slideshow that i have created on iPhoto.I am trying to put this onto a memory stick as it is being projected onto a wall in a performance i am doing.At the moment it is telling me that there is not enough room on my memory stick, altough there is a lot of free space so does this mean the slideshow has to be compressed?Also i am exporting it onto my desktop and its taking a really long time is this normal?

When I create an event on iPhoto I usually tag the photos...When I export them to a new folder on my desktop or whatever other external support, my tags are not kept but instead replaced by the original name of my picture (i.e IMG_45, etc...) How can I keep the tags on?

I am a recent Mac user and there is one thing that is bugging me. In Windows, if I wanted to view all the pictures one by one in a folder, I'd just double click and Windows Picture Preview will launch and you can hit the left / right arrow keys to go to the other pictures. In the Mac side, to achieve this, you have to select every picture file for you to be able to hit the right / left arrow keys to advance. You can't just open one picture and have it open everyone in the folder. Anyone know how I can make this work?

My trackpad just suddenly became really difficult to click. I didn't do anything out of the ordinary with my netbook but now I have to press around a bunch all over the trackpad to finally get it to click on something.

I'm placing images in both Quark and InDesign. When we go to preview image they appear with there alpha masks activated. Images have to be .tifs and we have to use alpha channels.

i have a fairly new dvd camcorder sony dcr-205 so i can record direct to dvd AND get widescreen.
WELL my path to get the da+%$#m dvd file .vob into imovie has shown me this

can someone show me a simple simple simple path to get this into imovie like one step even if it cost a few bucks OR
does min dv camcorder come in wide aspect format or am i stuck with having my families video's forever in the "old" aspect ratio?
soooo from what i understand and searching this and apple discussion groups...imovie works best with minidv (i had one my wife droped it and i thought to spend to $$$$ to the sony dcr dvd205 i thought it was an upgrade....yea right.

I just bought the latest macbook pro. It is actually my first mac so I'm not really sure if this is supposed to happen. But I tried plugging in my "ordinary pc" (meant to say that is not a Mac mouse) mouse which is an A4Tech brand. It's working when I move the mouse in huge spaces. It goes smoothly that way. But when I try to move it in small little spaces, it's kind of like not going smoothly. Especially when I'm working on small details like Photoshop, it's kind of difficult to maneuver the mouse arrow. I tried other "pc" mouse as well but it's just the same.. Does this really happen if I'm not using Mac's mouse? How do I fix this?

have an iBook 12" the screen and the screen is very grainy, disintergrated image and text?Loads up perfectly and functions are all good , just hard to read the vague image.Any clues?Supposedly it has had the motherboard replaced by the dealer who said it is the screen. But not sure if i can believe this.

My screen has become extremely floppy and it is pretty difficult to get it to stay up; if it does manage to do so it is at a pretty good slope. it's old and I have been tough on it, but was wondering how I would go about fixing this to the best of my ability? or. is this the kind of thing I have to take in for repairs?

I started using Outlook for Mac 2011 when I purchased my new MacBook Pro last year. I have found it to be a royal pain. I've decided to switch from Outlook to Gmail. Can I export my Outlook contacts and tasks directly to Gmail or do I need to do something with my Address Book (or is there some other way)?

I Was using Final Cut Pro X and Safari, and my computer would not process my exporting of a file from Final Cut. So, I tried restarting it.... It froze and I held down the power button, shut it down and turned it on when.... The apple logo appears with spinning circle, and then I get a circle with a slash and Apple logo disappears.
I have a Late 2011 MacBook Pro 15.4" 2.2ghz i7 quad core 8Gb ram 500gb 7200rpm HDD OS X 10.9.5.

Before I got this new Snow Leopard I would hit f8 to bring up spaces, then move the cursor to say the upper left space, and then hit f8 again to move to that space. Now though, I have to move the cursor to the upper left space and then actually click the mouse button on it to go to this space. If I hit f8 without clicking, I just come back to the space Im already on.
Why this bother me is because first of all I work quicker the other way, no biggy though. BUT before I could also drag a file from one space to another because I could switch space only by using f8 and moving the cursor. Now when I have to click on the damn thing it'll "release" the file Im trying to drag, so I cant drag between spaces in the same cool and quick way.

Anyone using final cut express ver 3.5 or 4 on their macbook air first generation? I use that on my MBA and everything seems alright except takes damn bloody long for exporting to quicktime HD and rendering too.

Does anybody know how to export Entourage calendar items from a local calendar and then import into an Outlook calendar on an Exchange server?
Or have a better way to move calendar items from local to server? I�ve only been able to drag and drop single items. Importing doesn�t ask which calendar to bring the items into.

I'm soon to acquire a used 17" iMac G5 for our daughter who's been using my 20" Intel (running OS 10.5.8) for the past couple years. She has several game applications with lots of play time invested, all saved for her next session. What is the procedure to entirely copy and/or export all these game files (notably SPORE) from my computer onto hers with no loss of data or saved places? My intent is to copy any and all game files I can find onto DVD's or CD's and copy THEM onto the G5 desktop or HD, and when they're safely installed, trash all that's on my computer, bogging it down. Will this work? We're out in the sticks, no way to experiment with this, hence my question not wanting a very irate daughter on my hands if it fails.

I need to throw a iMovie I made to my friends HD from my computer, but I only have it saved as a iMovie Project and he wouldn't be able to watch it. How do I export it as a .mpeg or .avi? It's not under file in iMovie either. I only have the choice to import and no export.

I have pictures in Iphoto that I would like to put back on my digital camera. Iphoto doesn't allow me to drag them back on my camera. Also, a drive letter doesn't show on my desktop when plugging in the camera. Iphoto asks me to import the photos and that's all.

For a group presentation someone in our group made the whole thing using iwork. Now we need it in powerpoint to present it to the class. She does not have powerpoint on her computer. Everytime she does "export to powerpoint" it does nothing. Are there any programs out there that can convert it, or, if I have access to a computer with both powerpoint and iwork will that help?

I am a documentary filmmaker who is using Bento to create a database for all of our archived photos, documents, etc. I would like to share this information with the other members of my team who also have Bento. The problem is when I try to export my library collection, containing all of the photos and documents, those on the receiving end are not getting the data.

I bought 2 new macs with the new leopard operating system. When i use roxio toast 7.1.3 to export videos i get real grainy sound. I was able to do this fine on my old imac g5 with panther. Do i have a setting that i need to change?
