A couple of years ago I loaded all my music onto a Macbook Pro and used iTunes to load it to my iPhone. Now my computer has been stolen and so I have bought a new one with Mavericks. No matter what I do iTunes won't import and play my wma files. What do I have to do to get iTunes to recognise these files.

iTunes freezing up a lot, can't add files/play media.Try to update to latest version, then App Store opens very slowly and just stays at blank gray screen. Both require force quit. I have read instructions by Linc in other discussions, and I have already tried the following:
-Logged in as Guest: Seems to work great.
-Logged in my profile in Safe Boot: Still have issues.
BTW, if I update iTunes under the "GUEST" login, will that update also show under my own profile?

I purchased the $5.95 version of Flip4Mac in order to be able to play .WMV files on my MacbookPro (Mavericks). However, every time I open any .WMV file, I get this error message: THE APPLICATION ATTEMPTED TO USE AN UNSUPPORTED FEATURE (Flip Player). I also attempted to play the files on Quicktime, but I get this error message: QuickTime Player can't open "XXXXX.wmv". I tried VLC also, but unfortunately did not work.

I want them to play or to open, but they dont work on itunes, i downloaded manny files (songs) from different users on solarseek, so its not a problem of corrupted files.
I had deleted my files from iTunes media folder, but as luckily I had the same files located in other place I just copied them to the iTunes Media but iTunes rejects to play them (in my iTunes Library). I'm only able to play them if I go through the procedure as followings: Play - "iTunes unable to open this file because the original file not found. Do you want to find it?" (or smith like that) - Find - Open and then it plays, but I have to perform these actions with every file separately and I have quite a lot of them. Oh, and after that first popping-up window the next one appears "Would you like iTunes to find other missing files from the same location as [the file's name]?" But when I click on "Find" it says "iTunes were unable to find other missing files". Why? How do I accomplish the same task but with all my albums at once without necessity to add them one by one? Does there some way exists to tie the tracks from my albums with original files without importing them to my iTunes library?

I download an mp3 file. One of them is for a class I'm taking that has audio files as part of the course. If I double click in Finder on the file, it begins playing in iTunes and when done, iTunes goes on to play something else. While online is a live class, I did this and iTunes picked up a recording of a discussion I had recorded and played it aloud with my live mic to the entire class.
There are a number of things I hate about iTunes, this is but one. In general I use it without trouble. However, if I construct a playlist, when that list is exhausted it in some fashion known only to iitself and the developers chooses somewhere else to continue. It tends to think of itself as a super large iPod and keeps playing until I manually stop it. Since I have many days of audio in the library, this is not particularly sensible. What is the best way to play a single or small set of mp3 or other audio files and then stop? iMac with Mavericks 10.9.3
On my iMovie, i can't get asf, avi, or mov video files to work. It would only show up as a white screen and take 15 minutes to load to imovie. But when i convert my asf to mov with a converteri downloaded, it took like 1 hour for a 30 second video, it worked and only took like 1 minute to load on imovie??? Is there any video codec for my imovie or a really good video converter?

I would like to access the iTunes/iPhone recent backup/restore files, as well as the Contacts/Addressbook files. I understand that, using the Finder's "Go," command, and holding the option key, present the crucially hidden "Library" folder...
Can this be done with an external hard drive, therefore presenting the needed files for extraction, or "drag-and-drop" style, into appropriated folders? If so, what commands would one use to show these files? By simple navigation, they are not shown in the main Library- Application Support folders. (I was able to locate and transfer the regular iTunes Library .xml file, for Apps & Music; however, that isn't the iPhone backup files)

I cleaned up all my kext files from Sep 2013 back to address the kernel_task overload, but now itunes won't play (play button works but songs do not move forward), time machine will not restore backup and no audio comes from google chrome. I purchased a new iMac just a month or so ago. I reformatted and connected my two EHD's from WD to it and they were recognized fine. A week or so later I began getting messages that the 1TB EHD was ejected improperly and I had done nothing. I just closed the notifications and did a google search and found that this is a problem with the OS and let it go. It didn't seem to be happening all that often. Begin this week and it was happening several times in an hour and now I cannot see the EHD in Finder, Disk Utility or System Profiler. I have not had any problems with this EHD until now. It is 3 or 4 years old. Is the EHD bad, or it this an apple issue? What can I do to find out?

I am running OS X 10.9.4 in a MacBook Pro, Photoshop CC, and a Canon printer MG8220. I have installed the plug in Easy-PhotoPrint Pro that is advertised at the Canon site as fully supporting that printer. When I automate the plug in from Photoshop it does not work, allegedly because it does not support the printer. It may be be that in fact this is the case but Canon people insists in the compatibility. I have come to think that it may be a matter of drivers, but I have failed to determine unambiguously which one is driving the printer. Then, where can I check the drivers and/or replace them? Although this a matter between one hardware and two softwares clearly not Apple...

Okay, so I'm using a late 2013 27-inch iMac, Intel Core i5, running OS X 10.10 Yosemite Beta 2. I've usually just used wifi, but decided to make the switch to a wired ethernet connection. Now the Network settings shows no option for ethernet, so I added a new ethernet connection in the settings. I was then met with a "Cable Unplugged" notice. And I have tried everything to fix it. First of all, I've tested 3 different ethernet cables, and none worked, but all three worked on my 2 Macbook Pros, both running 10.10, and there was no problem. I've cleared my PRAM, reset my power, checked that my ethernet pins weren't damaged, and every other suggestion I could find.

Recently, I've been trying to access my webcam but both Google Chrome, Safari, and my computer claim that it doesn't exist. I know for a fact that the camera is there, and works, having used it in the past, but all of a sudden it seems to have stopped being recognized.

I am using a mid 2011 iMac 21 inch running Mavericks 10.9.4. Processor is Intel Core i5. Memory is 4GB 1333MHz DDR3. I have had a HP Color LaserJet 2600n connected since I bought the iMac new in November 2011. The printer continued to work after I upgraded from Lion. Thinking that the printer was not working I recently deleted the drivers. It simply turned out that its USB cable had become disconnected. I have since tried to reinstal it through Printer and Scanner Preferences but the iMac does not recognize it. The HP driver download page offers drivers for Lion but not for Mavericks, even though a (different) HP summary page of available drivers claims that that 2600n is supported by Mavericks.
