OS X Mavericks :: How To Convert PowerPoint To Put On DVD And Play On TV
Aug 25, 2014
I have a powerpoint presentation and need to put it on a dvd to show on a tv. I've burned two disks already and both do not work. I know somewhere in the process I need to specify what kind of disc (PAL or NTSC). Can't find that option. I've converted to Quicktime but don't find anything online.
Info:
MacBook, OS X Mavericks (10.9.4)

For years in my department we have been supplied with PowerPoint line drawings to put into our Indesign Executive Summarys etc and have had to redraw them as the quality is poor when copied across. Does anyone know if there is a plugin of some form that can actually convert these line drawings into vector for us so that we don't have to redraw them?I did find a thread that suggested doing 'print to file' from PowerPoint and saving the slides as Post Script files. I have only managed to get this to 'kind of' work with a couple of slides, the coloured boxes come across fine but the text comes across rotated at a 90 degree angel. Still proving time consuming as the text lines come across as separate text boxes too.

I have Office for Mac 2004 on a MBP intel core2duo. OSX 10.5.8
I can't get a PP that was made on a PC to play the video when in the slide show mode. I can view video fine in slide view, outline view, and normal view, but when I play the slide show all I get is the audio and a still frame.

I have several .AVIs on my mac. Some of them will play with quicktime, some of them won't, so I've downloaded VLC to play them all. The problem is that I need to embed these videos into powerpoint (2008 for mac). The videos that work with quicktime will work in powerpoint, but the others won't. I've heard that windows users can install a VideoLan-VLC plugin to play videos in powerpoint, but I can't figure out how to do this on a mac.

I have an iMac 2.7 Ghz i5 and recently installed Mavericks 10.9.3. I did not realise that it has a bug that stops my Powerpoint working. It opens some of a presentation and has blank slides. It crashes when I try and play.
I would not have downloaded Mavericks if I knew this. I bought Office and I need Powerpoint - I don't want to use open source or other programmes.
How can I get it to work or how do I uninstall Mavericks and return to a good working operating system.

I have a macbook pro retina. I have adobe lightroom, powerpoint. I DON'T want to download some new application that'll take me years to figure out. or charge me. I have a blog and I want to make it into a magazine. I tried to minimize the screen to take a screenshot and load it manually, page by page, but I can't get the page to zoom out far enough. I don't feel like what I want to do is that unorthodox, yet there doesn't seem to be an easy way to do this. The blog is at rosendude.blogspot.com. Ideally, I'd like each article to be one page and the front page to be the cover.

I'm sure most people suffer from this but here goes.
So I make a presentation on Mac Office powerpoint, everything is fine. I open it up at university on the PC, all is fine. I maybe change some text on a slide and save it again. Open the same file again on my Mac, and it won't open some silly error comes up saying trouble accessing file from mac HD.
Then luckily I have keynote, so I just open it in that and use that.
Point is why does this happen?? Whilst keynote is better, sometimes I have to edit things on a PC at work or uni and then it becomes a giant mess on my mac.
Is there a quick fix, or will I have to throw Mac Office into my growing pile of Microsoft related garbage.

I have recently upgraded to Mavericks and now find that my old Word files (2004) can't be opened. (I can still open my Word 2008 files.) I have been a maths teacher for decades and have many old files which are still very useful but they contain more than just text; they contain diagrams, MathType expressions etc. etc. I need to be able to convert these files to files that can be opened with Mavericks. How I can do this?

It is Macbook pro 13-inch with 4GB 1333MHz DDR3, OS X 10.9.4 (13E28), bought in late 2011. Today I have some DVD and CD of my coursebook and want to play it on my Macbook pro, but I could not even insert it into the drive first. Then I go to System Preference and click on CD&DVD Player. It was inserted, and it spinned and rejected. I wonder what happened? Is it OS update issue? Or Hardware issue?
PS: It was once dropped from a learning table in my class. I am curious if that is the reason I cannot play CD or DVD

A couple of years ago I loaded all my music onto a Macbook Pro and used iTunes to load it to my iPhone. Now my computer has been stolen and so I have bought a new one with Mavericks. No matter what I do iTunes won't import and play my wma files. What do I have to do to get iTunes to recognise these files.

I purchased the $5.95 version of Flip4Mac in order to be able to play .WMV files on my MacbookPro (Mavericks). However, every time I open any .WMV file, I get this error message: THE APPLICATION ATTEMPTED TO USE AN UNSUPPORTED FEATURE (Flip Player). I also attempted to play the files on Quicktime, but I get this error message: QuickTime Player can't open "XXXXX.wmv". I tried VLC also, but unfortunately did not work.

iTunes freezing up a lot, can't add files/play media.Try to update to latest version, then App Store opens very slowly and just stays at blank gray screen. Both require force quit. I have read instructions by Linc in other discussions, and I have already tried the following:
-Logged in as Guest: Seems to work great.
-Logged in my profile in Safe Boot: Still have issues.
BTW, if I update iTunes under the "GUEST" login, will that update also show under my own profile?

Long ago, last year to be exact, I had a Macbook Pro 2009, with Open Office and MS Office older versions installed. They played embedded videos in both Impress and Powerpoint PERFECTLY.
This year I bought a Macbook Air and installed Open Office 4.1.0 and MS Office 2011. Now I cannot play any of the videos in these presentations.
I attempted to make new presentations and re-embed the videos. They play in Powerpoint fine ONCE, then not again. They do not embed at all in Open Office. The videos are all MP4 files.
This does not appear to be either a Microsoft or Open Office issue. To me this is clearly because of my upgrades. This is extremely frustrating, as I am a college professor and need to be able to use these programs without a problem. I also use presentations in my creative work.
