How do I print a contact address to a specific label on a sheet? This is so I can use all the labels on an 8 label sheet.
Also can I print a sheet of the same contact address i.e. all8 labels the same.
I had this sorted in XP, but Mavericks is proving to be a different matter entirely.
I want to copy formulas only from a previous worksheet to create a new worksheet. I am using this to do monthly accounts for 2012. Everytime I cut and paste the formula, it links it to where I copied it fror. I am worrried about saving it as I do not want to make any changes to the previous months. The person who created the worksheet is not available to do this for me.

How do you print a sheet of mini labels (65 per A4 page) using 1 contact from AppleMacbook/iphone contacts? I can only print 1 label. It was quite easy with Microsoft Word but difficult with Apple contacts and not possible in pages.

When I want to create a pdf, I click print > .pdf > save as PDF. Everything works fine.
Here's the problem though... when I click print > .pdf > Mail PDF... I get the following popup error. "The action "new Mail Message" could not be loaded because it could not be located. Try reinstalling the action."
Im pretty sure these are issues related to Automator, but through my hours of trolling the web, I havn't found anyplace to download automator actions.
Is there a way to restore automator actions and/or filters?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI am new to automator. I'm working on a Powerbook G4, in osx.4.11, and I'm trying to save a workflow as a plug-in in automator. When I click file>save as plug-in, nothing happens. I get no pop-up, and no plug-in is saved. I've tried this with various workflows.
I'm also having trouble adding actions to the workspace (even ones that make sense to add, i.e. I am following a tutorial to create a workflow that others have made before).
I want to set up a Automator workflow so that whenever I move Photo's to a certain folder, it will automatically copy those files to another folder, how can I do this ?
I have already created one, but after the first ' sync' it has failed and now does not work.
I am using this action in a workflow. I have downloaded the Auxiliary Tools and put PackageMaker in /bin. When I run the workflow, it barfs on this action. The error message is "launch path not accessible."

View 2 Replies View Relatedi tried to see if anyone was able to create something like this and i think that the automator script that i got only created a folder with /todays/ date. what i am hoping for is a script that will /constantly/ update the name of the folder to todays date. the reason i need this is that if i have one of these in my documents folder it allows me to easily see /when/ the last successful backup occurred on my external drives. it is a really nice comfort to see this easily and know quickly that the backup was successful.

Through a mistake I deleted all my Contact info from my 2010 i7 iMac (Yosemite) and iCloud.
Because my 2 iPads and 2 iPhones are connected to iCloud all the Contact info is gone, zero.
I have a recent Contact Archive of that info and would like to upload it to my iMac or iCloud.
When I attempt to do this on my iMac using the 'Import' feature the address info shows for a second and disappears.
I have checked Permissions using Disk Utility.
Can I use Time Machine in any way to solve this?
I do have one iPad that has the original Contact info still on it, can that be useful in restoring to iCloud or my iMac?

I have a friend where I have a single convo with and a group convo with via iMessages. There were times where his messages were sent from his number, and other times from his email address. As you may know, on the Mac it keeps it in the same window. However, on the iPhone it'll separate it. So he unchecked his email on his iPhone. So now everything will be in one window with him on my iPhone, as well as the 3rd friend.
But now on my Mac. I can not use the group convo to send him a message. I still receive messages from him in the window that I've had opened for the last year. But I can not use my Mac to send a message to the 2 of them, because he won't receive the message.
With that being said, on the single convo. I was able to click his name and a little window pops open. I was able to select his phone number. It automatically switched over so my messages are now being sent to his phone number. It even displayed "iMessages sent to *phone number*".
However, on the group message. I select his name and the little window only shows the fact that his email address is no longer registered with iMessages and asks me if I want to remove it. No matter what I do, I can not see his phone number as a selection. Nor can I permanently remove his email address from the group convo. It will disappear, but once I click out of the window then back, his email re-appears.
I've tried quitting Messages, rebooting the Mac but I can not change his contact info in the group's convo. I don't want to delete that message just to start a new one. Unless I really have to
I briefly tried to set up Mail to contact the university mail server there, but gave up. So I deleted the account in Mail.
Now, I randomly get messages telling me that Mail is unable to validate the authenticity of NEU's smtp certificate. Every time, I say, 'why are you TRYING to contact NEU's smtp system? I'm not trying to send a message through that mail system! I don't even have an account there anymore!' but of course my computer doesn't know English, and even if it did, it wouldn't know why it does the things it does, so that's a double dose of not getting a response.

I have a serverprogram from an external company that doesnt start after a restart of the mac that I run that server on. It starts the program but it doesnt start up the server of the program. All settings are right and I have consulted others with same config. After a restart the server turns up in the statusbar but as turned off. So I can go to the statusbar, click on the symbol and choose "start server".As I cant get the server to start up automaticly I was wondering if I can get the automator to start it up for me after a restart of the mac?

I'm required to use a remote management program, by my company, every time I want to remotely login into my business computer. What happens is that it downloads this file as a launcher in order to start my session. If I need to start a session 10 times a day....well you know what happens...I end up with 10 files on my desktop, which in turn creates clutter.
create a basic automator script that runs every night and deletes all of these files with the addendum at the end? For example

I have a bunch of contacts in my Apple Contact book but am using Outlook for Mac 2011 for email, contact management, and calendar. I have read that you have to sync your Apple contact book to your exchange account rather than directly to the Outlook for Mac 2011 programs so you don't create duplicates (contacts coming from the Apple address book AND the Exchange server). However, I can't find anything that tells me how to sync the Apple Contacts with my Exchange account. I figure at that point once synced, my exchange account will push the new contacts from the Apple Contact book back into Outlook for Mac 2011 making everything whole.

View 4 Replies View RelatedWhat I try to do is pick a photo from a defined folder ("gallery"), scale it and upload it to my Wordpress side. I automatically want to run this workflow every morning at a specific time so that the pictures changes everyday. It may sound strange that almost everything is done but two things are missing:
a) How do I tell Automator to use a random file from the "gallery" folder? How do I tell it to use the "gallery" folder in the first place?
b) How do I schedule that task? Is there a scheduler function somewhere that I missed?
Right now I use it manually as a service for images - that's why the first action is the copy action.Once the picture is scaled down to 230px and loaded into the folder "image_upload_temp" Hazel will take the file and upload it. I need to copy the file first to keep the original and scale a copy and then move it to the target folder because Hazel shall not upload the unscaled but only the scaled version.

I have been using a Mac for a good 8 years now and I'm a happy user. I recently found out about Automator ('hey what is this little robot for?') and what it can do, yet I lack the knowledge of finding out what I must do to make a script to perform the following thing: When I launch an app (FL Studio), I want the box checked next to 'Use F1 and F2 as standard function keys' in the Keyboard preferences pane in the System Preferences app. When I close the same app (FL Studio), I want the box unchecked next to 'Use F1 and F2 as standard function keys' in the Keyboard preference pane in the System Preferences app.
I have found several other topics about this subject, however, those were about scripts when logging in to your computer, and not upon opening/closing an app. Please note that I am seeking for the setting to be changed when the app is opened and closed.
