I got a Macbook about a year ago and it would only download certain things (ie. skype, Mozilla Firefox). The other things (ie. DND online, vindictus nexon, pretty much any game I want to play that requires me to download a client) will only show me a text edit document with a bunch of symbols and letters. It wasn't that much of an issue before, but now I'm getting a tad irritated by it.
I am trying to download free apps from the app store. I was successful in one but now they all just say waiting and won't continue with the download. What do I do?
I accidentally clicked on download Mac OSX Lion under my purchases and the only options are to pause and resume the download. I don't want to download it, and only see the option to pause the download. What are my options?

A few days ago iTunes started to crash when updating some apps. I have about 25-30 apps to be updated. When I click update all, it started to downloadin
apps but when it came to a certain app, it crashed. It starts to download the app, continue downloading for a few seconds, than freezes and crashes. This happens in more than 5 apps. Other apps in my library downloaded without any problem.
I tried almost everything, deleted the iTunes folder completely, tried to download the same app, and it crashed again.
Finally I formatted the iMac, installed a fresh Mavericks, immediately opened iTunes tried to download the same apps, they all crashed. Could the files on the Apple's servers be corrupted?
I have an iMac and Macbook pro. Whenever I buy something from iTunes or the App store both machines back this data up on their respective hard drives as well as providing a copy to the primary device (iPod or iPad) meaning that I have multiple copies when I only need one back up. How do I turn off this on say the MacBook Pro so that it only backs up on the iMac?
I cannot download apps or updates on the Mac App store. Whenever I try to download apps or updates the page seems to be loading something but nothing really happens. I cannot even log out from my apple account on the app store.

I have downloaded several apps from my I pad to my mac but cannot open them in I tunes, they are there but will not open. They were downloaded via I cloud?
I am backing up my iPhone to the iCloud, and synching to my iTunes wirelessly. But for some reason it is downloading all of my apps to my iTunes on my computer. I do not want nor need it on my computer. How can I stop that?
How do Universal apps, actually compare in performance as compared to Intel binary apps? Yeah, sure, they're "native" speeds, but surely there must be some erformance hit? I mean, it DOES contain two binaries.
Under purchases I'm getting "you have not purchased any apps." Under Itunes in the Cloud all my apps are listed as hidden but when I click "view hidden purchases" it says I do not have any hidden purchases. I have three Macs and all are experiencing the same issue so this is an account problem and not a computer software problem. The funny thing is that it's still recognizing updates.Yes, I've tried signing out and back in to view my account with no luck. The only thing I did weird last night was I disabled the Itunes store and automatic downloading on one computer. This morning when I had the above problem I put all the settings back.
I have no idea what happened. it was working fine last week, and then the other day I tried to open up iMovie and i get "The operation could not be completed / An unexpected error occurred (error code -10810)" This happens every time i try to open anything in my applications folder. the programs on my dock open up fine.
I'm looking for a way to keep distraction to a minimum when working. I'd like to have an app (or a setting) that enables me to automatically hide any apps that I switch out of. Are there any apps or hidden settings within OS X out there that would solve this issue for me? I know about Spirited Away, but it doesn't work for me and hasn't been updated in a while.
I have a new 21.5" iMac and have been playing around with everything. When I started two weeks ago I had an Apps folder with the Apps logo on the dock to the right of the dotted separation. All the applications are there lined up with the first application showing but for my consternation I cannot put the Applications in there folder like it was when I started out two weeks ago. This is the Snow Leopard OS.
For some reason I have to install some applications via MacPort, such like ImageMagick, however, I saw other applications(e.g. vi, vim, etc) also available via macport, there are already built-in programs like vi, if I install something via macport which are already built-in, will there be any problem or the newer ones just overwrite old ones?
When you sync your iPhone you sometimes get the following message:
Itunes has found purchased items on the iphone thats arenot present in your itunes library.
There are two reasons for this:
1. I have deleted apps in iTunes that I don't want, but not on the iPhone. I don't want to transfer the apps back to iTunes because I want them gone.
2. I have bought apps on the iPhone that I do want to keep. I want these transferred to iTunes.
So if I have both types 1 and 2 then there is no good answer. Preferably iTunes should offer to sync and choose which apps to transfer and what not to transfer. Is there a way to change this behaviour? By the time I sync I don't know what I've done so I'm usually not sure how to answer the question. Sometimes I like to bulk delete apps in iTunes--it is easier than doing it on the iPhone.

Besides using mac os to install & uninstall apps, what are the best apps out there that can; dwonload from the internet & off a thumb drive all types of files like dmgs, zip files & other odd files types, & install them properly on my mac
And a app that properly & completely uninstalls apps, without leaving thngs in the registry
Why can I not download this every time it says that it is downloading I get a pop up after 2min that says that it can not be downloaded and it may have been interrupted or corrupted! Very frustrated with this lap top and more annoyed that I paid $30 for something that can not download!
I want to have an idea of what to download when I get my MBP in 2 weeks, as in if there are any exclusive programs for Mac that aren't on Windows. I at least plan on downloading Firefox, Chrome, Skype, AIM, Google Earth, Videora (is there a better alternative that comes with OSX?), etc.
I just downloaded windows 7 from the microsoft online store and I can't figure out how to install it on my macbook pro. I have already partitioned my hard drive using bootcamp. When I purchased the software, it gave me three downloadable files, and I downloaded all of them. One of them was titled setup box 1, and another was titled set up box 2, when I try to click on either of those, it says there is no default application specified to open the document. How do I install it on my macbook pro?
i gotta say, i love my mac and all, but it has such a poor download rate- mostly with torrents, though. It will NOT go above 100 kB/s, and i can't figure out how to fix it. i set the download speed to around 80, and it still doesn't work. i've been downloading a game( it's around 1.2GB), and i've been downloading it for two or three hours-it's only at 29%. what the heck?
Hello members just purchased a used iBook G4 for $200. This is my first mac, so things are very confusing for me being that I've only used PC for so many years. The one issue I am having as of now, Lime Wire isn't working. I've read a few different discussion on this topic and I guess it's due to my software...

Anyone else watching these? They are somewhat fast for my free copy of Portal, BUT Steam says 4.x MB/s while activity monitor is about half that. Curious to know why steam is off by so much, maybe to "misrepresent" to the customer Curious what you all are getting. I have the MBP hooked up with an AIRPORTBS @300mb/s, along with the standard Comcast 8/2 speeds.
I am trying to download and install yahoo messenger. Everytime I try to download it, it tries to download a binary file, not the .dmg file necessary to install it. How do I get the .dmg file to download?
