I am trying to reply to emails on my business email account. When I go to reply, I have to delete prior emails before it will send. I did not have to do this on my PC. As well on the same email account I cant open any links to facebook when I open an email.
When replying an Mail, I cant see the original email any more, just a white page as with a new mail.Instead, I have to forward the email and copy all the addresses if I want to have the originals and it's so uncomfortable.
Everything has been working brilliantly until last week.
Late 2009 iMac running 10.9.4 - Apple Mail - Crashes when any message is selected. Â
I've tried removing mail preferences from Library, rebooting in safe mode and restarting, resetting PRAM, verifying and repairing preferences - no luck.

Cannot send problem to apple since the program isn't useable. When I attempt "relaunch" I get the same message again. It tells me "the application mail quit unexpectedly. Mac OS X and other applications are not affected"Â

I have more than one email account set up on Mail and the strangest thing happens and I can't find out how to stop it.
Here is the problem:
- I have 2 accounts, 'Account A' is for my partner & 'Account B' is for me. - Someone sends an email to 'Account A' (my partner) and CCs 'Account B' (me) into the same eMail. - If I click reply from 'Account B' it sends the eMail from 'Account A' which is my partner, when it should be from me.
I have worked out that this is because 'Account A' was originally sent the eMail in The 'To' field as opposed to the 'CC' field in composing the reply eMail. I know that I can manually change the 'From' field every time when replying to an eMail but it becomes an nuisance. I forget to do it when quickly replying as I consider Mail to reply from the account that I'm reading the email from.
I have gone to the compose section in the preferences and there is an option for changing this when composing a new email but nothing when replying.
I am running Safari 5.0.1 on both my MacPro (OS 10.5.11) and my new MacBook Pro (new 2010 model w/ OS 10.6.4). Both Safari's have extensions loaded:MacPro: Reload Button, Amazon Search Bar, PageSaver, The New York TimesMacBookPro: Reload Button, Amazon Search BarSafari on my MacPro seems to be running fine. On my MacBookPro, I am experiencing slow downs, automatic quits and crashes.
One IMAP account is intermittently losing all mail in inbox except for one message. After doing opening program the receive wheel spins for a long time, but at this point there are only 170 emails in the inbox because we moved all the rest to the on my mac inbox to try to solve this porblem. There are two accounts, both from the same provider, but one of them takes a long time to receive new mail.  The wheel spins for a long time - each time it gets mail.Â
Several times after finishing receive cycle, all the mail that was in the inbox disappears, except for one. I was able to get the emails to retrn by going into settings>accounts> and changing a random setting and then changing it back the way it was. All settings appear to be correct and match the other other account that is working correctly.Â
After installing Snow Leopard, (10.6.8 In 2 GHZ Intel Core Duo) I have had a constant crashing issue. Usually every few minutes. I've lived with this since I upgraded.
When I Reply to a message I loose and images in the original message (including those in my original signature lines. Instead of the image I get <pastedGraphic.tiff> or <image001.png> or <ATT00108.gif>. Any new images (from my new signature lines) are ok. If I Forward a message all these original images are intact and get forwarded, so the problem is in the Reply function.
My Apple Mail hasn't been working since 31st January. Every time I open it the same email just continues duplicating itself in the "Recovered messages" folder so I end up with hundreds of them. This email was the last email that was successfully sent and I was overseas at the time. When I returned home, my email would not update and it has not worked since.Â
I have tried rebuilding and taking mailboxes offline and online. Should I delete the 'mail' folder from my library?
There is a new bug that has cropped up in the Mac OS X 10.6.2 Snow Leopard version of Apple Mail, version 4.2. This bug was not present in Leopard's version of Apple Mail. If you drag a single email from Apple Mail out to your desktop, it makes a copy of the email message on your desktop. BUT -- if you drag multiple emails from Apple Mail out to your desktop, Mail does absolutely nothing. This used to be a very quick way to archive and/or export email messages out of Apple Mail, and it worked perfectly fine in Mac OS X 10.5. But you can no longer do this in Mac OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard.
Is there a way that Mail can work like MS Entourage or Outlook and more professionally attach files to the message? For example when I attach a picture or audio file its always embedded into the message at the bottom or top of the email. Outlook and Entourage do not work that way.
Today, I am not able to delete messages, I get this; The message "message name here" could not be moved to the mailbox "Trash On My Mac" The operation couldn't be completed. File exists.

Before updating software (10.6.8), in Mail, clicking a message in the inbox caused the message to appear in its own separate window-- not just in the pane below the inbox. I'm not sure why this function is no longer available. I guess I could delete Preferences (where?) and see if that does it.
Mail started quitting a few days ago, just after it starts. I tried everything that has been suggested for these cases: removed beta version of Safari, remove Growl and any other third parties, remove the preferences file (.plist) and the user/Library/Mail folder. Nothing works! I set up another account on my Mac and Mail works there! I tried to use the new files that Mail generated for this new account for the old account but I couldn't make Mail to run.
I am running 10.7.3 on two different machines. Some time ago Mail started quitting unexpectedly at least once a day on both machines. I have rebuilt the directories but this has not improved the behavior.

Recently installed Lion and my mail just won't start. I've already deleted Library/Mail and the file Library/Preferences/com.apple.mail.plist but nothing changed. The icon bounces a few times, then quits. I get a quite long error message. Should I copy it here?
When I try to open mail, it opens for a couple of seconds, then quits with message "Mail quit unexpectedly." When I click reopen button, the same thing happens again. I've tried a hard restart and that didn't work.Â
I have a Macbook, OSX version 10.9.5. Proc 2.4 GHz Intel core duo. 4 gb 1067 Dor 3.
I just installed the latest SW update...I think it included a security update. After I rebooted I lost the ability to use the "Entire Message" search in Apple Mail.I double checked my spotlight settings and the mail icon is checked and the privacy tab had nothing in it.Â
I've been attempting to sync my iPod touch for a while now, everytime I do it crashes just as it begins the actual sync section.
Only recently i noticed the error message "searching for movie data in file..." I have searched through finder and my external harddrives and time machine and this file doesn't actually exist.
The error message does have a cancel and a search button on it but i am unable to press them as all i get is the spinning pinwheel of death when i hover over the itunes window.
It's really really frustrating is there a way of telling itunes not to looking or sync this file before i actually sync my ipod.
I can't launch iMovie '08. When I try to run the app, the icon appears on the dock, but no screen or message error is shown. It just hangs, and I must do "force quit". This only happens with my user, as I've tested with other users on the same machine and iMovie seems to be running OK. I've cleaned my user cache in order to solve any problem with that, but it didn't work at all. I have installed the last actualization (iMovie 7.1.4). I doesn't seem to be an interference with iPhoto, as other users have experienced, since I've deleted com.apple.iPhoto.plist and the problem still persists.
