Recently installed Lion and my mail just won't start. I've already deleted Library/Mail and the file Library/Preferences/com.apple.mail.plist but nothing changed. The icon bounces a few times, then quits. I get a quite long error message. Should I copy it here?
Cannot send problem to apple since the program isn't useable. When I attempt "relaunch" I get the same message again. It tells me "the application mail quit unexpectedly. Mac OS X and other applications are not affected"
Info: MacBook Pro (17-inch 2.4 GHz), Mac OS X (10.5.8)
Mail started quitting a few days ago, just after it starts. I tried everything that has been suggested for these cases: removed beta version of Safari, remove Growl and any other third parties, remove the preferences file (.plist) and the user/Library/Mail folder. Nothing works! I set up another account on my Mac and Mail works there! I tried to use the new files that Mail generated for this new account for the old account but I couldn't make Mail to run.
I am running 10.7.3 on two different machines. Some time ago Mail started quitting unexpectedly at least once a day on both machines. I have rebuilt the directories but this has not improved the behavior.

When I try to open mail, it opens for a couple of seconds, then quits with message "Mail quit unexpectedly." When I click reopen button, the same thing happens again. I've tried a hard restart and that didn't work.
I have a Macbook, OSX version 10.9.5. Proc 2.4 GHz Intel core duo. 4 gb 1067 Dor 3.
I am new to Macs so please excuse my lack of knowledge or skill on this platform. Mail crashes each time I opening it. Meaning it opens then immediately quits with a report. I did a safe boot and ran system utilities which said everything was fine. I don't know what to do next.
I tried to email several large photo files from iPhoto via mail.app. All five of these emails are still sitting in drafts folder. Now I can't even open mail.app. It immediately quits. I deleted the drafts in Finder (or at least I think I did) and emptied trash. Still doing same thing. Here is what Console says at the time I first started having this problem:
6/8/12 5:51:44 PM com.apple.launchd ([0x0-0x14014].com.apple.mail) Exited abnormally: Bus error 6/8/12 5:52:30 PM com.apple.launchd ([0x0-0x1b51b5].com.apple.mail) Exited abnormally: Bus error 6/8/12 5:52:49 PM com.apple.launchd (com.apple.backupd-wake) Exited with exit code: 1
On MacBook Pro Retina, running, OS X 10.9.3, this problem recently started to occur:
Upon launching Apple Mail. the InBox will briefly display the messages in the mailbox, then clear the messges and reload from the mail server. Depending on the number of messages in the Inbox, this can take some time.
This only occurs if an internet connection is available. Otherwise, the mail stays put.
I have tried deleting and recreating both the mail server mailbox and the Apple Mail account (not at the same time), without success.

Since I upgraded to SL 2 days ago (very smooth), I've had the following 2 issues, I need help with one of them (item number one below);
1. in the Apple mail app, now my inbox shows the Notes (you know the yellow notes that appear on iphone also) also, how do i stop notes from showing ?
2. every-time a launch Zinio reader its gives a message that system wants to download rosetta... I keep on saying no. I though Rosetta was the compatibility between intel and PPC and getting rosetta on SL defeats the purpose of the smaller footprint of the operating system !
For the last week or so I've been having an increasingly regular problem with Mail. Upon launching, the app opens a dialog window saying, "Mail can't connect to the Google account 'Gmail'. Enter the password for user (username)." Then when I enter the password, the app crashes. Sometimes clicking the "Cancel" botton allows the app to open, but sometimes that results in a crash as well. Also, when I can launch Mail successfully, sometimes when I try to send mail, the outgoing mail will sit in the Outbox unsent.
I've been getting these warnings with both my Yahoo and Gmail accounts. Until a few days ago I was using Yahoo as my primary account, but the inability to send mail caused me to switch to Gmail as my primary. After a couple days of smooth sailing, I'm now getting the same errors with my Gmail.
I've been having this issue for quite sometime, but now have been quite curious. I have a habit of force quitting safari everytime i'm about to shut off the computer. Have had this habit ever since i got this Mac. In the past month and half, I keep getting the rainbow ball for 3-6 seconds everytime i force quit safari.
I get on the Internet a lot, and sometimes when I'm on YouTube, Twitter, or Facebook Safari will just quit itself unexpectedly. I'll relaunch it and sometimes it's fine and sometimes I'll have to quit it again and relaunch it again. What does this mean?
and my time/battery life/and spotlight disappeared. It happened when I installed McAffee for Mac provided by my school ITS. As soon as it finished installing about 3 popups come up saying something about fonts. I am new to the whole mac thing but this is really aggravating.
Okay so I wrote earlier about my MacBook randomly restarting. Turns out it is not restarting, it's logging out. So: Randomly when I'm not using the computer (never when I use it) for a long time, it quits the programs and logs out. The Console says this about the time interval:
4/5/09 12:46:41 AM com.apple.launchd (com.apple.aslmanager) Throttling respawn: Will start in 10 seconds 4/5/09 12:47:03 AM com.apple.launchd (com.apple.UserEventAgent-LoginWindow) Exited: Terminated 4/5/09 12:47:03 AM com.apple.FolderActions.enabled launchctl: Error unloading: com.apple.FolderActions.folders
I've been using ClamXav for a couple years, but after I updated my software to Mac OSX 10.6.8, it doesnt run properly and quits everytime I try to start a scan. I've uninstalled it & reinstalled it a few times & added a quarentine folder, but am not sure what to do at this point.
I've been looking around at different support forums to try to identify a solution, but am not having much luck-
I've been using pages in my macbook pro for more than a year without any problem but lately whenever I open pages it gets stucked loading, when I'm opening it the progress bar that appears at the beginning never disappears. I've already tried to force quiting pages to open it again but when I open pages again the problem persists. I still can write and modify the files that were previously opened but I can't open new files nor close the ones that are already opened.
This is the progress bar that never quits. I have mountain Lion and pages 09 version. My mac is a macbook pro Mid 2012.

I didn't delete permanently but they are in my trash bin and this has not worked. It definitely seems like there is some compatability issue from my old operating system occurring here but im not sure how to fix this.
