View 1 RepliesI've tried to get Remobo to work on Leopard and Snow Leopard, and after the initial 'Create an Account' screen comes up, I fill in the form, and hit the 'Create' button, it freezes, then quits. I try again, and it just crashes before even getting started. Anyone had this issue and overcome it successfully? I"m looking for a good replacement to LogMeIn (no longer supported for Mac).
View 1 Replies View RelatedMy 2.33gh intel core 2 is acting erratic. The finder quits, stalls and freezes...it turns off and then reappears. Programs fail. adobe will not run. It was on during the huge electrical storm last weekend. It started acting like this after. It was on a surge protector, but those are not 100%.
I can get a ways into backing up files. I am attempting to install Lion, but I did not journal the partition. And It looks like I have to clean install and erase the HD. If power surge did damage, software will not work. Does the finder issue look like electrical damage?

Mail started quitting a few days ago, just after it starts. I tried everything that has been suggested for these cases: removed beta version of Safari, remove Growl and any other third parties, remove the preferences file (.plist) and the user/Library/Mail folder. Nothing works! I set up another account on my Mac and Mail works there! I tried to use the new files that Mail generated for this new account for the old account but I couldn't make Mail to run.

Recently installed Lion and my mail just won't start. I've already deleted Library/Mail and the file Library/Preferences/com.apple.mail.plist but nothing changed. The icon bounces a few times, then quits. I get a quite long error message. Should I copy it here?

If I disable the IMAP account, all is good.
When I enable the IMAP account, mail crashes.Â

I am new to Macs so please excuse my lack of knowledge or skill on this platform. Mail crashes each time I opening it. Meaning it opens then immediately quits with a report. I did a safe boot and ran system utilities which said everything was fine. I don't know what to do next.

I tried to email several large photo files from iPhoto via mail.app. All five of these emails are still sitting in drafts folder. Now I can't even open mail.app. It immediately quits. I deleted the drafts in Finder (or at least I think I did) and emptied trash. Still doing same thing. Here is what Console says at the time I first started having this problem:

I have just upgraded my MacBook Air to OS X Mavericks. When I try and import messages into the new version of Mail for the first time the importation freezes at 349 messages (out of 10,000). The point where it freezes is always the same being "recovered messages" in one of my email accounts.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI just updated my Mac to Yosemite. I did a fresh install (erased disk and then restore documents and data with Time Machine) and installed all updates. Everything is working flawlessly except Mail. I can't make it run. Every time I opened it said that will import the mails, and a window appears and start the process. Yet, it does not go beyond there. I even leave my Mac for a whole night, and never went any further from the screen "preparing to import messages".Â

When I open DockSwitcher, it vanishes from the dock (quits itself?) after about 5 seconds. Even when it's there, dropping one of those zip files on it does nothing. I have a feeling this might be because I've tinkered around with those dock files, so now it's all messed up.
View 17 Replies View RelatedI recently bought a used Macbook Pro (A1212). I received it with no battery (on the way), and a dead harddrive (booted to folder question mark). I replaced the hard drive with a new one and tried booting up the DVD. When pressing option during startup, I'm given the option to boot the dvd. I click on it and I can hear the DVD whirr for a couple minutes, apple logo shows up, then a loading circle on the bottom of it, eventually the logo turns into a Deny Circle. What could this mean? The DVD is in tip top condition.

View 1 Replies View RelatedFor the past few days, whenever I try to open itunes, a dialogue box pops up and says, "The application iTunes quit unexpectedly. Mac OS X and other applications are not affected. Click Reopen to open the application again. Click Report to see more details or send a report to Apple."
I uninstalled iTunes and reinstalled it using a new dmg, but it still says this. I also tried uninstalling Flip4Mac and taking out the plug-ins from users/*user*/library/itunes/itunes plug-ins.
Just upgraded to 10.6 Snow Leopard. Awesome OS, but one thing bugs me: Since upgrading, whenever I activate my screensaver the default Flurry one appears for about 2 or 3 seconds, before immediately taking me to my locked screen window. I don't touch the mouse or keyboard or anything, it just refuses to show the screensaver for more than a couple seconds. I hit esc and it works for a bit longer, but soon enough displays the login window again. Has anyone had this problem after upgrading? It has been fine before (10.4, 10.5...up until now).
View 3 Replies View Relatedapologies if this has been answered else-where but Ive looked and found no solutions. My problem is that I cannot access network preferences. I can access system preferences and turn my airport on/off via the toolbar, but I cannot actually open the network preferences without system preferences unexpectedly quitting. I have to access my universities VPN to read an e-book for an exam, so this is quite frustrating right now,
