Jan 23, 2010I install candybar on my snow leopard but now I cant restore my default icons. Look the screen
1: icon: find
2: itunes (bugged)
3: firefox (bugged)
ITunes/firefox don't appear on candybar.

Feb 9, 2006Where are all the default system icons? like the applications "a" (not the folder with the a). if you plug in an ipod it automatically gets the right icon (shuffle has shuffle icon, etc.) are those on the ipod or system? where to find those icons? i know how to change them, but can't find the defaults...

Dec 27, 2010I want to change the default finder toolbar icons (back, forward, path and view icons, search, etc), does anyone know the path location for these? I want to make my own icons in photoshop and manually change them, the same way you'd do with the log on screen or icon I know about the customize toolbar option, but that doesn't allow you to change the icons, just to arrange them.

Oct 20, 2009I have downloaded an icon i want to apply to a file and i have it in png, icns and ico format. When i click on the image in the get info window and paste in the file, it just shows the default .png/.icons/.ico image. How can i make it work properly, showing the actual image itself.

Now I would like to change all of my PDF icons back to the default red and white Adobe Reader icon. Does anyone know how to do that please? I have Googled this and see instructions for how to change from the Adobe default to custom but can't figure out how to reverse that.

Nov 28, 2007Ive had great fun over the past few weeks messing with Leopard and my new macbook, altering aqua scrollbars, adding quicklook plugins and altering folders/icons etc.
For the most part, ive kept backups just in case. Original folder icons etc all backed up.
However I got a little too keen and didnt back up application icons (original ones) Althougth Im happy with what I have now, I cant find anywhere any original icons.
OS X :: Changing Default File Icons - Dock Not Recognize Finder Image
Jul 25, 2009On my Macbook, running Leopard, I recently changed all my icons. (applications, folders, default files, etc.) I changed the Finder and Trash icons via System/Library/CoreServices. But the Dock won't recognize that the Finder icon has changed-- it's still showing me the old icon. That's Problem 1.
Then I created a new user account, and discovered that on that account the Dock shows the correct Finder image. But Problem 2: the new account doesn't recognize my default file icons. It flashes them for a second when I save the file, and then reverts back to the regular white default image. (Even though all the .icns files are correct in the application's Resources folder.) I really don't want to download Candybar or anything, since I know it can be done without that.
OS X :: Restore Default Dock Graphic?
Dec 1, 2010A while back I downloaded a program called Dock Doctor in order to mess with my dock graphics. Unfortunately it, never really worked right, so I decided to remove it. When I removed it, my dock kept the last setting it had from when Dock Doctor was installed, and I am unable to get it back to the default. I have tried everything I can think of. I deleted the files from the library > preferences which deal with the dock, and that didn't help. I then tried to install both cleardock, which wouldn't install (gives me an error), and cleardock, who's settings don't seem to be changing my dock at all. Something dock doctor did seems to have completely locked my dock graphics down and nothing I do seems to be able to fix it.

Apr 6, 2012I've recently dual-booted Mac with Ubuntu and now when I reload the router it boots up with Ubuntu's grub loader where i see an entry for Mac for both 32-bit and 64-bit. Both options,however, don't work. I have to press option key on bootup to select the HDD containing Mac OS to boot into it. I want to know if there's a way of restoring the default boot loader for Mac OS which currently is being replaced by that of Ubuntu's?

Nov 26, 2010I recently changed the dock and most of the icons to custom ones and I would like to restore them all back to default. But since I no longer have the originals, I can't just copy paste each and everyone back. So how would I do this? I tried installing the combo updater hoping it would overwrite it all, but no go. I just found you can get info on an icon and then press delete or cmd+X, but it doesn't work on Mail. It erases the icon and gives me the generic "no icon" icon (white paper with writing utensils).

I had just changed a browser preference setting to "empty cookies and history" when I quit the browser. I restored the preference to its previous setting and the browser quit locking up. However, I now have a new problem: I can't download .pdf files (maybe others as well but I was able to download an application file successfully). This problem occurs with both Safari and Firefox browsers.I was recently checking the performance of 2 .pdf readers and I am sure I changed the default reader. I cannot remember how to restore Preview to be the default reader. Maybe this will get me back in business.

Jun 23, 2012I'm not sure how this has happened, but my Mission Control has become mirrored from the default settings. The "X" that appears to close programs now shows up on the left hand side of each Desktop, and the pop-out desktop that I am supposed to click on to create a new desktop is now showing up on the left hand side of my screen instead of the right hand side of my screen. Is there a way to restore Mission Control to it's default settings and configuration?
