OS X :: How To Restore 10.6 Default Display Profile

Nov 26, 2009

I'm looking for a easy way to restore my 1st gen Core Duo MacBook (10.6.2)'s display profile to the original 10.6.2 profile. (Whatever that may be)

The color seems to be washed away somewhat dry looking. I have another one of the same laptops, and the display's colors seems far sharper and brighter.

MacBook Pro :: How To Restore Default Color LCD Profile

May 9, 2010

how to restore the default Color LCD profile for a mbp 15" Glossy Hi-Res? I was messing around with mine trying to get rid of the purplish hue to all Blues and overwritten the default one. I'd rather not have to do a re-install and my Time Machine backup is of my old mbp (so different panel).

OS X :: Can TimeMachine Restore Just One User Profile Instead Of Everything

Dec 4, 2010

what I am trying to do is to take my wife's profile from my iMac and restore it to a MacBook Pro. But the MacBook Pro already has my profile on it and I don't want to screw it up. I'd like to just add her profile to the MBP.

Is there a way in TimeMachine to restore just an individual profile from one machine to another?

OS X Mavericks :: How To Restore Admin Account Profile

Aug 24, 2014

I hadn't used my notebook for about a week and when I turned it on the other day the password login page was missing and I noticed that the Administrator Account is also missing. I have tried to delete the two remaining accounts to see what would happen, but either I can't remember my ID name or the system won't let me delete the accounts because the admin is missing.

I have tried my Snow Leopard CD but it won't let me reinstall or run diagnostic.

MacBook Pro :: Display Color Profile Is Too Saturated

Feb 20, 2012

I have an early 2011 Macbook Pro, the higher end model with Snow Leopard. Before that i had a late 2008 unibody aluminum Macbook with Leopard. As soon as i started using my 2011 MBP i noticed the screen tone was much warmer than on my 2008 Macbook. all the colors look over saturated. i tried to change the color profiles, and the calibration tool, but it still looks horrible. i will try to post a picture showing both screens side by side so you can see what has been bothering me for a whole year now!

OS X V10.6 Snow Leopard :: Move Profile Data To New Profile?

Apr 5, 2012

my system fonts are jacked up and fill in lines in Safari are not readable as the text is bigger than the fil in window. Also my laptop is running harder, hotter and the battery life is less than half of what it should be. I also get text overlap line to line sometimes in Safari.

I have restored my OS with a clean install and then recovered my profile from Time Machine, this is how I discovered its my profile. I added a clean profile the first time I rebuilt the mac and it ran much faster, with less hardware usage and longer battery life. Once I began to recover my profile the system was same as always slow with Safari issues mentionee earlier. I switched to the temp user account profile and the system is fast no Safari issues and less intensive activity going on, battery life good etc.

If I rebuild the mac again I am not able to recover the profile/account without issues, I would like to move just what I need to a new profile/account from Time Machine but it doesn't allow access to the original admin account for a selective restore. I would like to be much more granular about the restore and just move my documents and such. I don't want to recover the applications or application data at this point as I don't need it. I would rather re-install just the apps I need at this time. Other option would be to clean my account/profile so that it runs as it should or move everything I want (mostly documents)  to a new profile for improved use.

OS X :: Restore Default Dock Graphic?

Dec 1, 2010

A while back I downloaded a program called Dock Doctor in order to mess with my dock graphics. Unfortunately it, never really worked right, so I decided to remove it. When I removed it, my dock kept the last setting it had from when Dock Doctor was installed, and I am unable to get it back to the default. I have tried everything I can think of. I deleted the files from the library > preferences which deal with the dock, and that didn't help. I then tried to install both cleardock, which wouldn't install (gives me an error), and cleardock, who's settings don't seem to be changing my dock at all. Something dock doctor did seems to have completely locked my dock graphics down and nothing I do seems to be able to fix it.

OS X V10.6 Snow Leopard :: How To Restore Preview To Be Default Reader

Apr 18, 2012

I recently experienced a glitch in which my web browser locked during a shutdown operation. I had just changed a browser preference setting to "empty cookies and history" when I quit the browser. I restored the preference to its previous setting and the browser quit locking up. However, I now have a new problem: I can't download .pdf files (maybe others as well but I was able to download an application file successfully). This problem occurs with both Safari and Firefox browsers.I was recently checking the performance of 2 .pdf readers and I am sure I changed the default reader. I cannot remember how to restore Preview to be the default reader. Maybe this will get me back in business.

I'm using a MBA connected to a 52" TV with a 1920X1080 resolution when I teach.  I often turn mirroring on and off depending on what I'm teaching and what program I'm using.  When I turn mirroring on it defaults to a 1400X1050 resolution and I have to manually go into display settings and change it to the higher resolution.  Is there a way to set the default settings so that it will always default to 1920X1080?

Mac Mini :: Restoring Display Resolution To Default Settings?

May 29, 2012

I'm a new mac user. Just bought a Mac mini with Mac OS X Lion (10.7.4). I was messing around with the resolutions on the display settings. I set the resolution back to the 1080p where it was when I first started messing with it. Now the color is off, the screen is not how it was before I started tampering with resolution settings. I've tried recalibrating the color but its still off. When I start my mac up in Safe Boot the windows and color look normal as if I changed nothing.
