problem is I DJ so am always making new mix CDs which I split up, put in a zip folder an then upload. On windows I used to just highlight all the tracks after I split them up right click, properties then just type all my details in like artist, album,genre, year,etc. But I can find this function on finder

So I just finished my latest short film, and I exported it to Finder. However I don't like the preview Finder chose for my video, it simply chose a random frame from my video and made that the preview of the file. I have a custom poster I made for the video I would like to make the preview of the file. I've look at other websites and they all mistook "preview" for icons. I am not talking about the icon of the file, I am talking about the actual preview of the file. If you open the Info pane of an image or a video file, there will be a tab under "Open With" named "Preview" and shows the preview thumbnail for the file. Can anyone tell me how I can manually change the preview of a file? I thought about importing the video into iTunes, change the cover art and take it out again, however because the file is encoded with Apple ProRes 4444 iTunes won't accept it and even if it did it would have been converted to other format, which is something I am trying to avoid and I would like to keep it ProRes 4444.

When I transfer music from finder to itunes I click and drag the folder (artist) from finder onto the itunes window, but the album and artist don't show up in itunes. If I search itunes for individual songs I find them in "unknown album". Why doesn't the album and artist transfer and go into itunes?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI recently purchased The 99 Darkest Pieces of Classical Music from Amazon. Yeah, it's sucky MP3, but it was free and I'm not a big classical music buff. I have the Album Artist field empty, and every track marked as "Part of a Compilation". So far so good. When I go to change the Artist field of any track, to fix a misspelling or capitalization error, for example, that track is instantly dragged out of the track listing for 99 Darkest and into its own album, with the album name being Unknown Album. This despite the track still being marked as Part of a Compilation. If I restore the original spelling, the track is dragged back into 99 Darkest's list. It's not like iTunes to maintain state like that. What's happening and how do I fix it?

I want a game to play my favorite song when the game is supposed to be playing its own theme song. The theme song is in a sound file that is located on my computer's hard drive. The theme song sound file is in the same format as the sound file that contains my favorite song, so I don't need to convert any files. What is the easiest way to make the game think that the sound file I want the game to use is the sound file of the theme song?

I have a disk image .dmg file, and chage the icon by highlighting the file in Finder, then press Command-I. Then I'll copy and past a new icon in the file information dialog box. I can then see the new icon in the finder, and also the icon for this file in the dock changes. Great. Then I'll rsync the .dmg file from one Mac to another, and the icon reverts to the default icon for .dmg files. Is there any way to make the icon change stick, when copying the file to another Mac?Â

In Finder it looks like the one I want to change it to, but when I move it into the Dock it just looks like the default icon. The same thing happens with the Finder icon. Any ideas? Oh and to change the iCal icon, is there any way to change the way the icon looks when you have iCal running? It just looks weird to have it look one way when it's closed and change back to the default when it's open.

When I tried to change the Finder icon, (used copy paste of the new icon to the Finder in system/library/core services/finder) it worked for the icon (in the folder) but will not change in the dock. I have relaunched the Finder, restarted, logged in and out. The new icon appears changed both in the core services and also in Finder contents folder, (Finder icns.) but the Dock icon remains the same.

View 1 Replies View RelatedNew folders created on a network are unable to be accessed by other users on the same network in Leopard OSX 10.5.6. The original user is the only one able to access the folder. You should be able to go to 'Get Info' on the folder and change sharing and permissions at the original user's mac, so that all users on the network are able to read and write to that folder. Leopard OSX doesn't not allow the change to be made. The selections are not ghosted out, but the appear available to be selected. No matter which you choose 'read & write', 'read only' the 'no access' option remains. We can go to a different mac on the network that has Tiger OSX and change the sharing and permissions of the folder in question. Why can't I easily do the same on the originating mac?

Is there any way that I can change the skin of Finder from the brushed metal to something similar of Firefox/Mail.app? I have tried using Uno and that gave the perfect result, but it also changed my other apps too. Changing the Uno settings to 'Default Aqua' for all except finder failed also, as it still changed Firefox.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI'm in the midst of backing up an external drive (to another external drive) via Firewire 800, which works fine, but for some strange reason one specific file won't be copied. It's an iDVD file with a filesize of 12.98 GB. All other files have been copied without any problems.
When copying over to the backup drive all seems fine for a while, then (after having copied 4.01 GB) I hear some "clunking" sounds from the source drive followed by the error message shown below. I've tried copying the said file several times and to different backup drives, and in all instances the file copying stops at 4.01 GB.
I've checked both drives with Disk utility and they check out fine. And the iDVD file opens fine in iDVD.
Could it be that MacOSX needs some free "work space" on one or several of the drives in question, which isn't available?
Cureently, the source drive has only 10.63 GB free space, the destination drive has 582 GB available and the computer's (1.67GHz Powerbook G4) internal 80 GB drive has 23 GB free space.
When I open a file in finder, it shows me how big the file is. Great.
When I search for a file, the size of the file � how big the file is � is not shown.
I would very much like to see the size of the file when searching for a file.
