When attempting to print a .pdf file on an HP 2100 located at 192.168.1.120 on our LAN, Mac iMac OSX 10.5 produces only the following header and then _m a n y_ pages of blank paper -- %!PS-Adobe-3.0%APL_DSC_Encoding: UTF8 %APLroducer: (Version 10.5.4 (Build 9E17) This printer works just fine printing .pdf files from the Dell XP also located on the same LAN.

View 2 Replies View Related i have recently been having trouble opening .pdf files properly. they open but they are all blank pages. they open as blank files in "preview", it doesnt open at all using adobe digital additions and through microsoft word i get gibberish or i get pop ups that say "word cannot open this document. the document might be in use or might not be a valid word document" ive downloaded over 5 times and each time i try with all three options and i get the same thing.
i tried to pull it into iArchiver but that also didnt work.
the file ends with .pdf
also although several other documents have done the same thing i know something is not completely wrong with my .pdf thing or any of those applications because other pdf files do open.
i tried to give as much information right at the beginning so forgive me if its too long.
I have recently bought a MacBook Pro. I installed Pages '09 and it was working well in the beginning. Soon, though, it began to give me trouble. Whenever I try to save a file and open it later,the file is opened as a blank document. This occurs with both pages and .doc files. Sometimes I can save the text in the file by using command+A and dragging the text over into text edit. But this does not always work.Recently, when I open the application, the template chooser appears but is blank.
View 2 Replies View RelatedII think it's a Snow Leopard issue, meaning that I don't think there's anything wrong with my printer or its connection. Laserjet p2015dn. Always printed duplex when requested, although I can't say for certain that 10.5.8 worked, since I don't print duplex regularly. After SL, I had only the "Manual Duplex" option, and nothing I could do would return my standard Duplex option. I reinstalled, reset the printer firmware, etc. etc. Every place that there's a duplex option, it's checked. Everything else about the printer is fine -- it sits out on the network and prints happily. I have not made a USB connection to see if that makes a difference.

View 6 Replies View RelatedI have an issue here that I could really use some help with.I've downloaded the driver from HP HP LaserJet P1000-P1500 Series...and that works if the printer is connected via USB.However, the primary computer for this printer is a Windows XP and thus I need to connect via the network.Going through the "Add Printer" process, I can see the printer in my network...but the driver isn't showing up in the list of options...which I don't get, since I figured that since I've installed the driver it would show up in the list, but alas it is not.

I've successfully connected it to my MacBook (10.5.8) using a Parallel-USB Converter Cable and Gimp-Print drivers - it doesn't have a built-in USB port. What I'd like to do now is connect the LaserJet to my Airport Express to allow me to print wirelessly. Has anyone done something similar to this before? Has it worked? I'd like to get advice first so I don't end up wasting hours and banging my head off a wall trying to get this to work.

I'm trying to add a header and footer to my pages document, however I am not able to no matter how hard I try.
I have tried to create a section and make that the footer, and read almost every related article in the help menu.
Also - when I try to insert a section, the selection in the insert menu is grayed out.
I'm not sure if this will help, but my document has no text and is just tables where I need a header and footer for the 11 pages.
I've recently come back to apple mac's, however before my new G4 ibook, i had a few pc's set up on a network, i've still got them and i want to add my ibook to the network, i've got most of it working, however my laserjet 4M plus which has a print server installed in it, which works perfectly with the pc's doesn't want to work with my new ibook. My ibook is connected via airport to a linksys access point, and that to the router, which in the connected to the laserjet. I can Ping the router and it all seems fine, but getting it to print just isn't happening.

1. exporting it to word
2. clicking everywhere in on the page
3. shrinking the line spacing between subheaders and sections, but it was not enough.
4. swearing
Is it possible to make the spacing of the header smaller, or am I just sol?
When I try to print any document from a web page, i get an empty page, only the header line at the top of the page. Y work with Safari (last version) but the same I have with Chrome. From other sources there is no problem. I have two HP printers, one laser BW and a color HP Deskjet D1663.

The problem is controlling which order the sheets print in. As far as I can see, none of the print options actually change anything. Since the latest update i can't load any pages in safari. The apple start page only loads a shortened version of the main page and then if i click on anything else nothing shows up. When i go to different websites i can see the title at the top of the page and sometimes the page even flashes to what the content is before going blank or green or whatever the background color that site has set. If i go to preferences and uncheck "enable javascript" i can get pages to load but its almost useless as i can't do much without it enabled, such as use my gmail, etc. Any ideas what could be causing this? I've run the flashback tool and that virus is not found. I've removed all extensions and reset cookies, reset safari and still nothing. If i use firefox i have no issues whatsoever so i'm not sure why safari is having issues.

Just updated to lion and have found that I can no longer select or unselect the collate option when printing from preview. The collate select button is available when printing from adobe reader or word, but it is nowhere to be found under any of the preview print options since the update. Has it been moved to some super secret location?
I included the screen shots of adobe reader and preview print windows. The collate selection button in preview used to be located to the right of the # of copies window.

Just today I received about 6 e-mails that when I went to open them all I got was a blank page. I tried to delete them but can not seem to do so. When I hit delete nothing happens. I have a Canon MP830 all-in-one unit. When connected to a Windows 2000 PC or when connected to a MacOS X 10.4 machine, it worked fine. Under 10.5 Leopard and now 10.6 Snow Leopard, there is a long delay between pages when printing even simple text documents. The delay can be anywhere from 20 seconds to more than a minute. Scanning works just fine, the problem is only with printing. Unit is connected via USB, and I've tried it in different ports just in case of a bad port. I have tried both Canon's own printer drivers and the Apple drivers from 10.6 Snow Leopard. I have a 2006 Mac Pro 4x2.66 GHz with 5GB of RAM. It's the same machine which ran 10.4 Tiger without this issue, and I'm currently on 10.6.2.
