OS X :: Disconnected / Unseated / Loose Battery In MBA?

Is it possible for a sharp and sudden fall to disconnect the battery in the Macbook Air? My friend just emailed me--her husband dropped the MBA from the kitchen table to the floor (so just under 3'). She has an X icon where the battery icon should be and for the first few restarts, she's had to reenter wireless password information, as well as date/time. The MBA works fine when it's plugged in. But there's "a teeny dent in the upper left corner. Really tiny."

I just ordered my first mac a few days ago online, and seeing that almost everyone takes advantage of the suposed 10h battery of the 13', I wonder if it gets slower when you are using the battery.
my current notebook (compal FL90) is considerably (much) slower when it is not powered to the grid especially if I'm running photoshop for casual editing.

It's sort of come to my attention there's a few of us who are having *experiences* with a loose cover/latch. I wouldn't call this an *issue* at all, (yet) or it could be a problem with us being too picky. Either way, I'd like to know.

This is an unfortunate development! It appears that one of my processors has died on me! Is this, in fact possible - and still be running? I have included a screen shot, using Temperature Monitor to show the processors and ambient temps. What other way could I determine if it truly dead? And lastly, can a replacement be had? (I'm fairly adept at computer repair) If so, where?

i have a 15'' macbook pro (2007) and a secured wireless network in a wireless router.
my mbp keeps disconnecting almost every 5 minutes.then i have to turn off the ap,turn on the ap, insert EVERY TIME I CONNECT THE PASS (even if the remember pass box is checked) and redo this step every 5 minutes. for some reason sometimes i turn on the ap,connect and sais "self assigned ip" and i got no internet connectivity.
oh,and if i set up the wifi router again with no password..guess what..it works!the same thing happens on my APPLE! Airport Express.

I connected an external TV in my Mac and now, it's always shown as an additional display, even if its disconnected and powered off! I tried plugging and unplugging, plugging and powering off, mirroring, changing the finder from one screen to the other and then back, but nothing works. Right now I'm using SwitchRes to disable the external TV but I want to delete the TV from the display list!, the TV is not connected!, this is crazy.

So, I was trying to test out the Wireless Keyboard for my iPad, so I disconnected it from the computer and logged out. So now I am logged out and I can't even log in without my keyboard! What should I do? I have another keyboard in the house that works via USB, should I use it?

After applying the recent software update version 10.7.4 to OSX Lion, the internet sharing gets disconnected periodically. But when I look at the internet sharing icon on iMac, it states that it is still on and according to iPhone, it is still connected to the wifi, however, there is no internet connection. I have to turn off the internet sharing and wifi from the iMac and turn it back on and switch channels in the internet sharing and it works again. But this is getting to be frustrating as I have never encountered this issue since the update. I think the recent updates is bugged.

The bluetooth audio only gets connected when the music starts to play (I think it makes sense). But it gets disconnected just after the music stops (maybe when I'm changing the song I want to hear) and it's annoying. Worst, most of the times when it connects back, the sound only lasts one second and then it get silent. ITunes shows that the song is being played, but nothing sounds.

I recently set up my new macbook pro with an Apple Cinema Display. The setup is great except that my wifi connection only works when my MBP is open. The second I close the screen the connection stops working. It's not a proximity issue since it works just fine when it's open.

I've been experiencing a problem lately with my Wifi, this started around last January where my Macbook Pro Wifi will be disconnected and reconnect within a few seconds, the period between the connection cut off varies sometimes short(3-5 minutes) sometimes long(1 hour?).
The weird thing is, this happens only when I use my house Wifi(NTL Ireland) and when I use my neighbor's Wifi which happens to be the same company(NTL) I do no experience this problem.And another weird thing is 2 of my housemates who are using PC do not have this problem and 1 of my housemate who is using mac also experiencing this problem, but the disconnection of the wifi of mine and her doesnt happen at the same time. I am so fed up with this, can anybody tell me what's the problem ? my macbook ? router ? broadband company ? weather ?

Just updated to 10.7.3 and my iMac is still getting disconnected from WiFi when waking from sleep. Supposedly this latest update was supposed to address that. I never had this problem until the release of Lion.

External Drive Improperly disconnected pops up after I awake the Mac from sleep?
Mac Intel with Snow Leopard connected with fire wire to an external G-Drive.
Normally this has not been a problem. However I now have 2 external G-Drives daisy chained to each other with one firewire going to the mac.
Everything works normally accept when the mac goes to sleep it thinks the external drives were disconnected when they are not.

My MacBook Pro 13" Mid-2009 has recently started to shutdown unexpectedly when it starts running on battery power, I don't know if its the battery or the motherboard (I hope it isn't).
I tried resetting everything, reinstalled the whole OS, repaired permissions (don't know what for), but I keep getting this. It started about a month ago when I tried to boot up from the battery as power source:
The first try went all the way through the apple showing up with the spinning symbol underneath it, then POOF. Then everytime I tried to boot up again it didn't even show the Apple logo, just 5 or 6 seconds after the chime, POOF AGAIN.
So I connected it to the power adapter and everything went OK, I started working on it, everything was fine until I disconnected it. I kept working on battery and 2 minutes later the computer died again, it sounded like when you keep pressing the power button to force-shutdown, like it's protecting itself from something and it's very frustrating not being able to use your LAPTOP as one.
Oh, one more thing, the battery icon says "Service Battery" and it shows only 1 hour of battery (on 100% charge) the 2 minutes I can work on it before it shuts down.

Everytime I attempt to download the new software, stops and advises that have been disconnected from the internet. I test this proposal and find all is working well and is, in fact, connected. Is this a server issue?

After upgrading to OS X 10.9.4 (13E28), I found that the Wifi of my MBP retina would suddenly got disconnected, then after a moment, automatically got connected again.... But on and off, this issue happen again -- disconnected, connected....
Really don't know why. This issue did not happen before upgrading to 10.9.4. So consider maybe is the system bug?

I am new to macs and recently purchased an imac. My problem is when I connect a usb device such as my iphone or camera there is no sound played signifying that it is connected. I am used to using windows where a noticeable tune it played everytime a device is connected or disconnected. I have tried looking in setting and such without much luck. Is there anywhere else that can turn this feature on??

I installed my Pioneer Bluray drive in the second optical bay on my Mac Pro 2010. It works fine but when computer has been on for a little while it has lost connection with the drive entirely. I'm not sure when exactly. I mostly notice it when I try to open the tray and get no response. When i check in Toast, the app freezes due to the faulty connection and when checking for it on the computer info it's not there anymore. Anyone know why this is? One possibility I can imagine is a sleep/wake issue where this connection is somehow lost, but I never put the computer to sleep so this can't be it. I would hate to remove the Bluray drive entirely, but maybe I can switch places?
