OS X V10.7 Lion :: Cannot Download Updates - Disconnected From Internet
Jun 27, 2012
Everytime I attempt to download the new software, stops and advises that have been disconnected from the internet. I test this proposal and find all is working well and is, in fact, connected. Is this a server issue?
After applying the recent software update version 10.7.4 to OSX Lion, the internet sharing gets disconnected periodically. But when I look at the internet sharing icon on iMac, it states that it is still on and according to iPhone, it is still connected to the wifi, however, there is no internet connection. I have to turn off the internet sharing and wifi from the iMac and turn it back on and switch channels in the internet sharing and it works again. But this is getting to be frustrating as I have never encountered this issue since the update. I think the recent updates is bugged.
Does anybody knows why I can't download software updates neither apps in the app Store, It appears to be a Network error, does it have anything to do with TCP or UDP Ports?

A couple of days ago I checked for updates for my Lion - I was in particular looking for the Java update to fix the recently reported security issue - and selected 2 items including the Java update for downloading. I checked the size of the items and they added up to be less than 200MB in total. But as soon as the downloading started, the total size suddenly became 1.4G!!! There was no obvious way for me to check exactly what I was downloading and de-select any unwanted updates. I didn't want to stop the downloading because I did want to make sure I have the Java update.

I just bought an SSD for my MacBook Pro and I am trying to use a Lion recovery installation USB hard drive that I created when Lion was first launched. I have successfully used this drive to install Lion on my old MacBook but I can't actually remember using it for this MacBook Pro.
When I try and do a clean install of Lion on my MacBook Pro with this new SSD, instead of installing from the drive like I have successfully done in the past, it's trying to download a 4.044 GB package from the Internet. I wouldn't mind so much if it wasn't estimating 5-6 hours to download and it's already failed to download twice?
I figure it's downloading it again for few possible reasons. 1. There is a more current installer available than this one I am using so its trying to download a current version. 2. I can't use this installer because it was was created on a different MacBook. What the reason might Be?
The bluetooth audio only gets connected when the music starts to play (I think it makes sense). But it gets disconnected just after the music stops (maybe when I'm changing the song I want to hear) and it's annoying. Worst, most of the times when it connects back, the sound only lasts one second and then it get silent. ITunes shows that the song is being played, but nothing sounds.
I want to install Lion on my iMac. It is currently running version 10.6.8. I have 3 external hard drives connected to the iMac. Should I disconnect them before installing Lion?
When I check for software updates only itunes and random other updates show up but not security updates or safari update. When i check installed updates I realized my last security update was 2011-004 and I still have safari 5.0.6.
My iMac hard drive died and I got a new one installed from Apple and my dad's friend installed Leopard for me and he started to download and install the updates from Apple and I don't know if he stopped the install midway but when I tried to download and install them NONE of them install. I called Apple and they told me to try something in Disk Utility with "verify disk" and it didn't work still and then they sent me something about trying to Archive and Installing but it seems really complicated. Is there anything else I can try?
As the title says, I have no internet after hitting "update all" on the software update page two days ago. This includes updates to Safari, ibooks, itunes, macbook air EFI and SMC firmware updates. I have a wifi connection, and full bars, but when I open Safari I just get a blank white screen and no pages load whatsoever.

Im running Mac OSX 10.4.2 on XServe G5. I can connect to all computers on the internal network but when I try to connect outside of this network, I get an error "no internet connection" For example, if I try to run software updates from the command line, I get the "no internet connection" error. I can ping localhost, the router, and dns server successfully...cant ping outside the internal network however. All other computers can connect without a problem. The firewall is set to allow all traffic. Also, the internal network is a number of Windows/Linux PC's, 1 powerbook, and the Xserve.
I have deleted programs, old files Always download and install the latest updates. I have even installed that Mackeeper software. But my Macbook pro is running like extremely slow.

I have the developers iOS 6 Beta on my iPhone 4s. I need the latest iTunes 10.6.3 to sync with iTunes. I went to www.itunes.com as it told me to and I went to the downloads page. Usually you enter your email and click the download button. My problem is there is is no download button or email box! I need to download the latest iTunes and I can't. I did a software update, but it does include iTunes I tried it on Chrome, Safari, and Firefox, all coming up with the same thing. I am also using a Mac.
My imac will not shut off/restart or let me download the new updates because it says I have to quit the TextEdit first, but it will not let quit it. When I open up the TextEdit the Quit option is in a faded black/Grey color and does not do anything when I click on it.
