I used a program to change the background of my stacks grid to a different colour and I can't get the dock back to it's defaults. If anyone knows a terminal cmd or a program that can change this.
I installed DockDoctor a little while ago just so I could change the dock color based on the wallpaper I had. Well, I tried to change it again today, and it wouldn't move back to its default, nor would it change to any other colors. I restarted the dock several times, I deleted the com.apple.Dock.plist file and restarted it through Terminal, but even that didn't do the trick.

i reinstalled osx snow leopard 10.6.4 (or something close) but i was wondering how to make it wipe everything else that i had on there, so that its like i just bought it.
I recently changed the dock and most of the icons to custom ones and I would like to restore them all back to default. But since I no longer have the originals, I can't just copy paste each and everyone back. So how would I do this? I tried installing the combo updater hoping it would overwrite it all, but no go. I just found you can get info on an icon and then press delete or cmd+X, but it doesn't work on Mail. It erases the icon and gives me the generic "no icon" icon (white paper with writing utensils).
anyone know a way that I can get my dock back? It isn't hidden or anything. I had Finder crash on me and then my dock disappeared and hasn't come back.
my gf has the new mac with the leopard os on it. today just out of nowhere the dock disappeared. i restarted the computer, it showed up for a short while and disappeared again for good. i checked the dock options but there is nothing about permanent hiding or anything like that.
I have a normally MacBook and I installed a lot of programs in the start. Now I deleted them all - but my dock is in 2D it seems - I want it back to 3D like I was when I bought the computer!?
I installed Cleardock [makes the dock transparent] and I tried getting rid of it by going into user/library/preferences and deleting com.apple.dock.plist. However now my dock is still clear but also reflective [see pic]. So then I tried to reinstall cleardock then uninstall it but that didn't work [I did a killall Dock to reset it]. I also read on a forum how to restore my dock to the default but that just gave me back the default application icons. So how can I get my dock back to normal! And if it helps I have time machine back ups from before my dock was like this.
My dock keeps returning to previous setting. It simply throws out added Applications and changing the order back to how they were before. I deleted the dock.list thing in preferences which made it worse. Now i only have the original Apps in my dock.
After having a mac for many years I never knew what grab did. So I opened it up and now I know whatit does. I don't think I will ever have a chance to use it. So I quit it. After I shut the computer down and later opened it up the gab icon was back in the dock. I again quit the application and again it is back in the dock. I don't know what else to do. Can anybody help?
i changed the dock on my mac and now i cant change it back. I got the files for original dock and changed it in the Macintosh/System/library/dock/resources. It still wont change back
I deleted my dock in terminal because I wanted to customize it, I missed a step and deleted my dock. please help me bring it back. I have no dock. And when I restarted my computer my background changed for some odd reason.
I just noticed that sometime today the rocket thing (forgotten what it's called) on the dock has disappeared so now I can't access things like the dvd player, etc.
so, i messed up trying to move iphoto to an external hard drive, after some help the ex hd is wiped clean just like new and i have managed to ensure my photos are stil on my imac, hoorah! but in the process i disconnected iphoto from the application, but i got them back together again, so iphoto is in finder like new. only now i would like it back in the dock where it belongs. i am sure i knew how to do this once but have since forgotten. part two of my question is that iphoto now has no backups for browsing on time machine.
