I am out of my country so I can,t send email with the account I have there, so I set hotmail account on my Mac without any problem I receive the emails but I can,t send any. I set the outgoing mail to: example@hotmail.com; please help as I need urgently contact my office.

When using Pop i could recieve but couldnt send and now im using http plug in and can send but cannot recieve i use hotmail.co.uk as .com in my email address. The top ip address in the below error message is my ip. the other ip which is says messages cannot be sent from is not my ip.

Since December, for some reason, I can no longer send attachments (i.e. Word docs) through my Hotmail account. I had been using Safari, but have also tried using Firefox without success. I can send attachments through my Yahoo account, but I prefer to use Hotmail as this is my main account.

Two years ago I switched over to Mac. Now I use only mac. But I don't like to change my email address from hotmail (I still have another gmail address as a standby account). Recently I found I cannot send emails from my hotmail account. Windows live says to upgrade my browser safari. Downloaded the safari new version. Then I found it is not compatible with my operating system OS X 10.5.5. What shall I do? I don' like the way they change software. There should be some solution. Can I buy new operating system? If it says Hardware is not compatible then money go into waste.

I get a system mail admin return e-mail saying unable to deliver for 4 hours. Basically saying hotmail.com is not responding. I have never had this problem on mac mail or outlook for the PC. Is this coincidence or does Outlook 2011 get the blame?

View 3 Replies View RelatedI'm having trouble with my Apple Mail program. I have a number of e-mail accounts (some with Optimum online, a g-mail, yahoo, etc.) Apple Mail has no problem at all reading and downloading any mail from any of the services. My problem is with Optimum Mail (Optonline.net). Mail refuses to send anything through that set-up. I've been on the phone for hours with Optimum and the settings are all correct. I've tried connecting directly to the cable modem and mail gets sent. This would make me believe that it is the Apple Airport Extreme router that is at fault. I've tried restarting it, re-initializing it and setting it up again and the problem continues. All my Optimum mail is picked up and can be read but it will not send anything through Optimum. It asks if I want to send it through another server (like g-mail or yahoo) and if I pick yes the mail sends.
It happens on all my computers a G-3 and pre Intel iMac G-5 on Tiger and my Macbook on Leopard.
Anyone else hear of this problem? Both Apple support and Optimum online say they have never heard of it. Talking for hours with their tech departments have found no solutions.
i'm new to mac and recently just set up my hotmail account on mac's mail application.
However, i realised that after doing so, I realise that a large portion of the emails were deleted from my hotmail server. I was previously accessing my hotmail account via the website, until i got my new Mac.
Is there any way to restore my emails onto my hotmail server account? And why does emails from the server get deleted when i use the mac application?
I cant log into my yahoo and hotmail mail account after the recent updates done for my Tiger 10.4.11. I can get into the [URL] page, but after writing my username/pass it wont enter! Anyone facing similar problems?

Now that it is deleted, whenever anyone sends me an email to my .Mac account they are given a failed delivery notification. It says that the hotmail address is no longer active. I am getting what they have sent as it's addressed to the .Mac address though. The thing is I have never knowingly linked these accounts. I have been through all the system preferences and there is no mention of them being linked.

I had the old pop3.live.com and smtp.live.com but went ahead and changed to pop-mail.outlook.com and smtp-mail.outlook.com and still no luck. I tried using Microsoft's site to troubleshoot but it is worthless. I tried locating a phone or email support but no luck.

We have been using the Macmail facility on a Macbook Air (running Mavericks) to connect to a hotmail account and an MSN account, which are both set up as POP and have been working fine. However, for some reason we now keep receiving a pop up saying that it can't connect and prompts us to enter the passwords? The passwords have not changed and we can access the accounts through a browser and our Android phones fine, it just seems to be Macmail that has trouble connecting. Every now and again it'll suddenly connect and collect new mail but then it'll drop out again and ask for passwords. It's most annoying.
