I found a free way to use hotmail email address on Mail and its worked very well EXCEPT my last software update. Now, it will send emails happily, but it refuses to receive emails. The program I use is HttpMail Plugin Version Leopard 1.53 (by daniel parnell). Its worked up till this last update on software. Any solutions?
View 24 RepliesI have recently deleted an old hotmail account. It was never used and had been hacked. Now that it is deleted, whenever anyone sends me an email to my .Mac account they are given a failed delivery notification. It says that the hotmail address is no longer active. I am getting what they have sent as it's addressed to the .Mac address though. The thing is I have never knowingly linked these accounts. I have been through all the system preferences and there is no mention of them being linked.

I was able to download my messages and send them BUT: - My Hotmail have few folders on the InBox and I can't see it on Mac Mail. - Once I read a Hotmail email message on Mac Mail it does not update on my Hotmail (server) account displaying that it has been read. - When I delete a Hotmail message on my Mac Mail it does not update on my Hotmail (server) account. It seems that on Mac Mail, I am only able to download messages and send them without syncing between my computer and their server.

View 5 Replies View Relatedjust got a macbook pro and wanted to configure my hotmail accounts to be read in mail 4.2 in such a way any change I did in the webmail could be seen in mail and viceversa. When configuring it automatically (letting mail figure out all my account details) that didn�t happen; I was told that I need to set the account type to Imap for this sync to happen.
When I configure a new account in Mail 4.2 the account type (pop) appears automatically, and there�s no chance I can change it, not even afterwards when going to the account menu.
I'm running Tiger on an iMac G5. I have had no problems with my mail account for the year that I've had the G5..until now. All of a sudden, I can't get my mail from my comcast pop account. It keeps asking for my password. When I enter the password (which I've had for over 6 years), it tells me that it is incorrect. So, I threw away my accounts and rebuilt them. Upon rebuilding, it said there was an error contacting comcast. What's confusing me is, I NEVER changed ANY setting and there was never a problem before a week ago. Needless to say, creating a new account didn't work. I called comcast, and SURPRISE!! they say it's a problem with Mac Mail and not Comcast. I verified my setting with them and they said that they were correct. The incoming is mail.comcast.net and the incoming is smtp.comcast.net - the port is set to the default of 25. If anyone can help, I'd really appreciate it. I really on my email to get homework assignments, credit card statements, account verifications, and updates for software (garagesale updates almost daily). If you need any other info to help me, please feel free to ask. I will keep checking back - but have a lot of hwk. to get done tonight.
View 7 Replies View RelatedWhat I need is a mail client for my iMac running MAC OS X Snow Leopard 10.6.3 which I can have Hotmail on which displays and has access to all my personal hotmail folders. So when I update/send emails/move email from one folder to another on my mac they update online and on my business partners (PC), and the same at the other end so it update son my Mac.
I also need to be able to send HTML e-newsletters.
This is for my business with 6000+ email addresses so I don't want to really have to change my works email address and use googlemail instead or something.
Currently I use a combination of Windows Live Mail (its actually pretty good for hotmail) and Outlook 2003 (flakey at times but great and easy for sending HTML emails).
iCloud mail is not working, not accepting my password, can't sign in on any iOS device or via iCloud.com, this is a nightmare as I am self employed and this is my primary email.

I've been having lots of issues with my iMac in the past week.Mail doesn't seem to be working correctly. I'll find messages that are many hours late. Messages that I see on my phone are not up to date on my iMac.We pages are showing up as script, no content, no pictures. Facebook shows up with no pictures.Memory isn't an issue and I've checked the internet connection and mail settings. I am also up to date with apple updates.

im using Mail to recieve my hotmail messages and im trying to find a way to avoid having a hotmail inbox with hundreds of unread emails since they're all being sent to Mail.
with thunderbird, when the messages are copied from hotmail they are automatically marked as read so when you sign into hotmail or msn you dont recieve a message notifying you of having 500 unread messages...only the amount of unread messages you have in thunderbird.
since ive found a lot of similarities between Mail and thunderbird, surely there's a way to set Mail to behave the same way.
I have some contacts in my Address book that won't save any changes I make to them.
For example: Address book shows for a contact name. when I replace it with their real name and de-press the edit button, close out of the application and restart, none of my changes are saved.
i'm new to mac and recently just set up my hotmail account on mac's mail application.
However, i realised that after doing so, I realise that a large portion of the emails were deleted from my hotmail server. I was previously accessing my hotmail account via the website, until i got my new Mac.
Is there any way to restore my emails onto my hotmail server account? And why does emails from the server get deleted when i use the mac application?
I am out of my country so I can,t send email with the account I have there, so I set hotmail account on my Mac without any problem I receive the emails but I can,t send any. I set the outgoing mail to: example@hotmail.com; please help as I need urgently contact my office.

T_T no mail shows up whatsoever on the bottom left it says getting mail. 1xxx out of 1xxx and the bar goes to full but no mail shows up.

View 2 Replies View RelatedMy Mac Mail was working great until a couple of days ago when Hotmail in it stopped working. I checked all the settings and everything is fine. I had the old pop3.live.com and smtp.live.com but went ahead and changed to pop-mail.outlook.com and smtp-mail.outlook.com and still no luck. I tried using Microsoft's site to troubleshoot but it is worthless. I tried locating a phone or email support but no luck.Â

We have been using the Macmail facility on a Macbook Air (running Mavericks) to connect to a hotmail account and an MSN account, which are both set up as POP and have been working fine. However, for some reason we now keep receiving a pop up saying that it can't connect and prompts us to enter the passwords? The passwords have not changed and we can access the accounts through a browser and our Android phones fine, it just seems to be Macmail that has trouble connecting. Every now and again it'll suddenly connect and collect new mail but then it'll drop out again and ask for passwords. It's most annoying.Â
