OS X :: Mail Application With Hotmail Account
Feb 25, 2009I've set up my Hotmail account with POP and Httpmail. Everything looks good up until the point it gets my mail and this is where things goes wrong. It DOESNT get mail. T_T no mail shows up whatsoever on the bottom left it says getting mail. 1xxx out of 1xxx and the bar goes to full but no mail shows up.

Jun 28, 2010i'm new to mac and recently just set up my hotmail account on mac's mail application.
However, i realised that after doing so, I realise that a large portion of the emails were deleted from my hotmail server. I was previously accessing my hotmail account via the website, until i got my new Mac.
Is there any way to restore my emails onto my hotmail server account? And why does emails from the server get deleted when i use the mac application?

Apr 24, 2012I have encountered an irritating problem since a software update of Safari 5.1.5 and EFI Firmware a couple of days ago. I have been unable to load any MSN pages including my hotmail account. I am able to sign in and access the sign in page, but the inbox page freezes (loads up to about 75% on the menu bar) all the other msn websites follow suit load but not fully. I wouldn't mind but my main email account is with hotmail and my pop account via apple mail I cannot access junk and other folders etc..

Nov 13, 2010I have recently deleted an old hotmail account. It was never used and had been hacked. Now that it is deleted, whenever anyone sends me an email to my .Mac account they are given a failed delivery notification. It says that the hotmail address is no longer active. I am getting what they have sent as it's addressed to the .Mac address though. The thing is I have never knowingly linked these accounts. I have been through all the system preferences and there is no mention of them being linked.

Aug 25, 2014My Mac Mail was working great until a couple of days ago when Hotmail in it stopped working. I checked all the settings and everything is fine. I had the old pop3.live.com and smtp.live.com but went ahead and changed to pop-mail.outlook.com and smtp-mail.outlook.com and still no luck. I tried using Microsoft's site to troubleshoot but it is worthless. I tried locating a phone or email support but no luck.

Sep 8, 2014We have been using the Macmail facility on a Macbook Air (running Mavericks) to connect to a hotmail account and an MSN account, which are both set up as POP and have been working fine. However, for some reason we now keep receiving a pop up saying that it can't connect and prompts us to enter the passwords? The passwords have not changed and we can access the accounts through a browser and our Android phones fine, it just seems to be Macmail that has trouble connecting. Every now and again it'll suddenly connect and collect new mail but then it'll drop out again and ask for passwords. It's most annoying.

Mar 31, 2012Im trying to delete my hotmail inbox from Mail 5.2 on my Mac. I tried "delete mailbox" by right click and from the Mailbox menu. Also tried dragging the mailbox to trash and nothing.
