Does anyone know how to transfer folders and not just files between Mac OS and a mobile device using a Bluetooth connection and Mac OS 10.5's Bluetooth File Exchange? Or do you know of a 3rd party app that can do this?

The devices are paired but they won't connect.
I can't browse my phone from my mac either.
Same applies to other mobiles and computers using bluetooth. I can receive files but can't send.
I have a Nokia 6303 moby with bluetooth. When I try to connect to the internet with it (sitting in front of the mac with the phone), I get the message about 'subscribe to packet data first'. Followed by 'link not available'. I am with Vodaphone in the uk. I believe I have set the correct information up in the phone settings, and the iMac can see the phone and vice versa. Indeed, I can send files between the two devices, but no t'internet. Should I be paying a subscription to the phone company for the service, does anyone know? The help files at Vodaphone just loop me back to the help screens on their website which doesn't seem to answer the 'packet data' question.

I've seen some very large USB type phones (eww) but I was after a bluetooth headset. Could I say use a bog standard mobile phone bluetooth headset? I rather like the Nokia ones.

The phone and the mac connected ok via bluetooth, and I inputted the code that comes up on the screen. After which the the connection 'failed'.
I then tried another mobile phone, and the connection failed on that too. The thing is I've used both phones before to transfer files to the Mac Pro.
I have a Panasonic VS3 phone (No bluetooth) and today I bought a USB cable to connect it to my Macbook for transferring ringtones etc. But the CD that came with it only has PC drivers on it. View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a 13" MacBook Air and a 27" iMac that I just did the combo update to 10.7.3. Since I have updated, I am missing the mobile documents folder. If I upload a pages document to icloud.com on my iMac and then go to icloud.com on my MacBook Air, it show's the file, however, it's the default pages icon, and it doesn't give me the opportunity to download it.
Because of this, I thought I'd look in the "Mobile Documents" folder and see if I can access it from there. However not that folder is missing. I have tried many different ways to get it to show up but I've been unable to.
I'm curious if Apple realized some people were using this folder as a "Dropbox" and disabled or further hid the folder so people can't sync files back and forth. More importantly, why doesn't icloud.com work for me as it used to?
Anyone know of any tricks to get the Mobile Documents folder to show up in 10.7.3?
I just used Chax to combine my AIM and Facebook accounts in iChat, but I just realized how many of my friends use the stupid mobile feature for AIM, so they all show up in my buddy list when they really arent available. Is there anyway I can hide those mobile accounts in iChat?
View 1 Replies View RelatedUntil the recent large update (149 mgb) to iTunes I was able to pair my LG phone to my wife's iMac and transfer mp3 files either way using Bluetooth. Now when I pair the phone and go to Browse Device on the iMac it lists all of my phone memory files but will only open the the SDPicture file. When I click on the SDMusic file it says operation failed. Is this just Apple protecting their rice bowl with regard to music sales or is it a glitch in the software?

When I transfer large amounts of data over my Powerbook's wireless, I lose my bluetooth connection to my keyboard. Also my wireless signal decreases. Is there some way to fix this? I'm trying to backup a drive to my windows pc in the other room.
View 3 Replies View RelatedWhenever I try to upload files to my FTP site (via my standard FiOS wireless internet connection), my Apple bluetooth keyboard disconnects. My Apple Magic Mouse also behaves strangely (jumpy, but also disconnects sometimes). Both devices reconnect when the file transfer is complete. This happens both when I transfer files via the web browser OR using Fetch. What the heck? I'm having a hard time troubleshooting this issue or finding anything online about it, but the bluetooth disconnect and file transfer are definitely related, because my devices don't disconnect any other time, unless the batteries are low.
I want to reiterate: I am NOT trying to transfer files via bluetooth. The files are being transfered via wireless internet (Verizon FiOS), but the bluetooth devices are disconnecting during the transfer.

I have found many instructions on how to transfer your entire email "mail" folder from one mac to another... However, I need to simply transfer only one folder of emails from the 1st mac to a 2nd mac. I'm concerned that if I follow the instructions for copying the whole enchilada (copy and move "mail" from 1st mac to library on 2nd mac, and copy and move "com.apple.mail.plist" from 1st mac to preferences on 2nd mac), I might mess up or replace all the mail on the mac I'm trying to transfer this one folder to!

I have recently moved house and gone from an area with high speed fibre optic broadband to an area where this isn't available and as such my speeds are significantly lower than before. Downloading isn't shouldn't be such a problem - I have gone from 30mbs downstream to about 5mbs. In tests I have been able to download fairly large files in an acceptable time. Uploading finished work is more of a concern as the upstream is severally nobbled. if there is a way to set a folder on my Mac that my client could access and download from without me first having to upload to a server (Dropbox, WeTransfer or FTP)? Is this possible and if so would this make a difference in terms of speed or would the recipient still be restricted by my upload speeds
