OS X :: Bluetooth Pairing Request;?

Sep 19, 2009

I have a late 2007 24" Al iMac, 2.4GHz, with a BT Mighty Mouse. Tonight, for the first time ever, I got two separate dialog boxes titled "Bluetooth Pairing Request", one from Ana and one from Lydia. Neither of these are my names. I recently moved into this apartment complex. Could the pairing requests be coming from a neighbor?

To answer myself, I think it is coming from a neighbor. I just went into the BT menu and clicked on Set Up Bluetooth Device. It didn't find my MM, but it did find a couple of mobile phones with the above names. Anyway, I rejected those two original pairing requests. I also have Airport turned off. So I don't think anyone can access my iMac.

Hardware :: Using Bluetooth Pairing?

Apr 21, 2010

I have a Power Mac G5 made in 2004 that has no bluetooth hardware installed. I have ordered a D-link DBT-120 USB Adapter that is supposed to work with Mac computers. Also i have the OS 10.5.8 running. My question is, are there any instructions for pairing the mac wireless keyboard with the D-link or will it connect automatically?

Hardware :: Bluetooth Pairing With Two Macs?

Jun 10, 2010

I have an Apple Bluetooth Keyboard (aluminum). Right now it's paired with my MacMini + HP LCD.

Sometimes I connect my Macbook Pro (MBP) to the HP LCD.

Whats the easiest way to transfer the keyboard pairing to the MBP (and vice versa). Or is there a way to share pairing between the Mini and MBP, so I don't always have to un-pair, pair, un-pair, pair, etc. ?

I often run into pairing problems when switching the keyboard between the two macs. For example, sometimes my keyboard will refuse to pair with the MBP.

Anyone have experience with this?

Hardware :: Pairing HP Deskjet 460cb With MBP Via Bluetooth!?

Oct 4, 2010

I have the HP 460cb mobile printer and a MBP.

It's simple, I want to print wirelessly via bluetooth, no USB dongles!

I have the HP Bluetooth card inserted into the printer so there's no problem with that. Everything was setup smoothly but for some reason, the two won't connect.

The devices were recognized and setup, then I went to pair them and they wouldn't connect. Suddenly they did connect for about 30 seconds (I could see the Bluetooth sign with the three dots in the middle, indicating that a device was paired; and yes I made sure all other Bluetooth devices were disconnected to avoid any confusion)

Windows On Mac :: Bluetooth/Logitech MX Revolution Pairing Problems

May 6, 2009

First off, I'm doing this on a MBP bought in June of '08, running Windows XP in VMWare fusion off of my bootcamp partition. Also, my Logitech MX Revolution mouse pairs up perfectly fine.

Well, my MX Revolution used to work on my XP partition a while ago, but I hadn't booted up directly into Windows for a while and was just using VMWare Fusion. I recently installed a new game on my XP partition and used bootcamp to directly boot up into it, but it wouldn't work.

I kept trying to use the Bluetooth Devices program in the Control Panel, which kept leading me to using the "Add Bluetooth Device Wizard." I keep using "Don't use a passcode" and it tells me it pairs (when I press the connect button on the bottom of the mouse), but the mouse does not work.

I then kept searching for updates for the Apple Bluetooth drivers, but everything was up to date.

So I decided to go into control panel and go into Add/Remove Programs and tried manually uninstalling that said "Bluetooth Drivers." Unfortunately, I may have screwed something up here haha. I can't find anything to replace those drivers I uninstalled now. I think I've created more problems than I've solved...

Also, when I try and use Logitech SetPoint and use the connection wizard, it just tells me "Please connect Bluetooth USB device" so it's obviously not recognizing the internal Bluetooth receiver (and I made sure it's connected in VMWare, AND I've tried it booting directly into the XP partition!)

Hardware :: Pairing 2 Bluetooth Keyboards And Magic Mouses

Feb 3, 2010

I got a quick question about bluetooth keyboard and magic mouse. For some reason I need to pair 2 of each to my iMac. I know I can not pair 2 IR remotes, I learned it the hard way now I have an extra remote laying around.

I guess the keyboard and mouse would work since they are bluetooth but if anyone did it before it would be great to know.

MacBook Air :: Clone Bluetooth Keyboard Pairing, Work Twice Then Nothing?

May 8, 2012

like a lot of mac lover him having trouble pairing a clone copy of mac aluminium bluetooth keyboard. on a pc under xp no problem and no pairing number required. with my mac osx snow leopard. i was able to paired twice switching from keyboard pairing where my code is accepted with the enter and the second way is where you have the + and - and the list of your bluetooth device listed. i get to the point where i have to enter the paired code but the enter never work. so by switching and closing and trying to pair with both method at the same time i was able to have my keyboard working. Until i reboot or mac goes to sleep. If i had no sucess i would give up, but i been able to make it work twice,,, i don't get it. I have experience bluetooth a long time ago. And usually bluetooth is very easy specially with bluetooth 2.0. him using the 78 keys aluminium top and white plastic bottom with 2 AAA battery. report as vk bluetooth keyboard.

OS X Mavericks :: Pairing Bluetooth Presenter Doesn't Work Anymore

Jun 28, 2014

I have a bluetooth remote presenter. It has the usual keys (next, previous, volume, play/pause, start default music player) and it also has a small touchpad / trackpad with left and right buttons, scrolling buttons.

The remote is great and it served me well under Windows and OSX 10.6.8 Snow Leopard. Now since I bought a new machine with Maverics, I can't pair it. The bluetooth utility looks different on Mavericks. Certain things missing, such as making Bluetooth discoverable or not in the way of simplification of things or oversimplification of things, where there seems to be no access to Bluetooth device details and no way to add device without pairing code.

The remote is recognized as mouse with keyboard, which makes things worse, there is not only no code on the device, even if there is one (or if it would except 0000, 0000000, or similar), I have no way to enter it.

Unfortunately Maverics made things simple but useless for some bluetooth devices. It's unnecessary.

Seems like I will be stuck with Snow Leopard on one of my machines forever.

When I look in console on SL, here is what I see:

2014-06-28 8:23:11.268 AM System Preferences[7658]: [establishKernelConnection] Received an error from IOServiceOpen() - 0x10000003.  NULLing out io_service_t.

There is an entry like this every time I try to pair.

The Bluetooth manager window says -- "Pairing failed"

When I go to Options, it shows the field to enter code. No matter what I enter there or if I leave empty, I won't be able to pair.

Otherwise BT works fine on Maverics, I have Apple keyboard, Logitech kayboard, Apple and Logitech trackpad and audio device connected, no issue.

The Remote presenter works also fine and I tried to re-pair it with other non-Mavericks machines and works fine too.

MacBook Pro :: Bluetooth Not Working - Pairing Unsuccessful To IPhone 5 Or Headphones

Dec 3, 2014

I am having trouble with the bluetooth on my MacBook Retina Display (software is up to date). My MacBook will not connect to my iPhone 5, nor will it connect to the bluetooth headphones I just purchased (Sony MDR-XB950BT). When I try to pair the devices to my MacBook, nothing comes up in the field of recognized devices, except for other laptops around me. Sometimes, my iPhone will show up quickly but then it will say the pair was unsuccessful. My headphones have never appeared on the devices list. However, I can connect my headphones to my iPhone perfectly fine.

OS X :: Pairing Wireless Keyboard And Mouse With IMac?

Nothing will be wired in the first time its turned on so how will i be able to do anything - such as tell the iMac to look for the wireless kit? I don't have an old USB keyboard or mouse, so unless the iMac is clever enough to look the first time its turned on i'm stuffed. I don't want to have to buy a separate USB mouse just to tell it I have a wireless mouse, defeats the object!

Not sure if this is possible, I'm sure there's someone out there who would be able to tell me either way. I've got a D Link router thats plugged into my 50mb in my lounge. I'd like to put my airport express in my kitchen and pair them so its the same network. The reason for this is that I have my HIFI in the kitchen which will be plugged into my airport so I can use it as remote speakers for my itunes while I'm still connected to the 50mb and D Link. Is this possible?

MacBook Air :: ITunes Not Connecting To IPhone - Pairing Record Missing

Apr 5, 2008

I used to have all my data on my MacBook and since I bought the Air I started transferring everything to it. Everything was fine until I tried to hook my iphone on the usb and sync it. The iphone drops the connection with the itunes and the whole syncing progress cancels. I've tried every possible advice I found in other forums but nothing worked. I uninstalled and reinstalled itunes, I tried installing earlier version of itunes, I restored my iphone (on my other mac), I manually deleted some itunes program files before reinstalling the new itunes....nothing nothing nothing. I keep getting error messages like:

"ITunes could not connect to the iphone because the pairing record is missing"
"Application AppleMobileDeviceHelper quit unexpectedly"
"ITunes could not connect to iphone because an invalid response was received from the device"
And every time i try to restore iphone from the air i get an error(6).....

While everything works great on the old Macbook, the Macbook Air seems to have problems connecting with the phone. The funny thing is that even if the connection between iphone and itunes drops, I can still manage to "see" the iphone from "iphoto" and import pics on my Air. I really don't know what's going on here and there seems to be no one that knows what I should do. Furthermore, when i plug my scanner on the air, it doesn't respond at all. It's as if the usb slot ain't powerful enough to connect with those devices. The scanner also works great on my old Macbook.

MacBook Pro :: Disable The Built-in Bluetooth And Enable A Bluetooth Dongle Instead?

Mar 4, 2008

I have a bluetooth mouse and keyboard that I want to share between a PC and MBP via a DVI/USB KVM switch. I think I can do this by plugging a USB Bluetooth dongle into the KVM's USB input.

If I use the MBP's built-in bluetooth then when I switch from one computer to the other via the KVM, the keyboard and mouse will stay paired with the MBP; but if I disable the built-in hardware then the dongle can provide the bluetooth capability and be switched between the computers.

Software :: Using Bluetooth Headset/non-apple Bluetooth?

Sep 1, 2005

Hey guys..>I'm trying to set up my jabra bt200 bluetooth headset to work with my mac (osx 10.4.2, 15" powerbook 1.67ghz)...and I can get it to pair, but it won't stay connected for more than a split second. this is a problem i've seen a few people have, looking around on various forums and stuff, and i was trying various solutions when i decided to try doing a firmware upgrade on the internal bluetooth module. I downloaded the firmware updater (1.2), tried to run it and it came up with the following error:

"This computer does not have an Apple Bluetooth module installed. It cannot be updated by this application."

Why would my Powerbook not have an Apple Bluetooth module?!?!?! It's got bluetooth installed, it's internal, but looking at the system profile, it says it's the manufacturer is Cambridge Silicon Radio. So is this normal or what? Is the firmware upgrade even going to help me out in the end? Just to clarify...the powerbook came with bt installed factory...it's not something added by me!
