Dec 19, 2008I have a 1TB external drive but I want to use half of it to store videos. Is there a way I can tell TM to limit its backup to 500GB?

Dec 3, 2009Just got a mac book pro and getting used to it. Recently got married and while we were hanging out with our friends they stuck each of their camera memory cards into our mac and transferred all the videos and pics on to the computer. Now I'm home and I want to transfer all those pics/videos on to our external hard drive. I've tried everything! I've tried exporting...I've tried dragging the pics. Nothing will work. The weird thing is, I'm able to move pics from the HD over to my computer but not vice versa.

It sounds like Time Machine will write over old files to keep more recent updates. Jun 4, 2012I've been having this problem for a while now and its only with images and videos when i try to open any picture or video this msg comes up "The file couldn’t be opened because there is no such file" and i can only open it if i copied the file from my hard drive to my computer.when i open the info for the same picture (one in on the hard drive and one my computer) the one on the hard drive has nothing under "more info" while the one on my computer has a lot of details under "more info" .

I do not want to lose those photos and have been told by Apple tech that the seagate can be reformatted for mac. How do I do this without losing the PC photos already on it. I was trying to install windows on my pro, and i had bootcamp chop the hard disk in half, but then my disk drive didnt read the cd so i had to download and install some file. and after i restarted i could no longer access the windows side, it just disappeared.....plus i cannot reset my hard disk, cant erase it, and i cant reinstall OS X because there is no memory left..

Jun 21, 2012At the beginning of last year I bought a 3.2GHz 27" iMac. About a month ago I noticed that, within about 5 minutes of starting my computer back up from sleep the left half of the screen would flick and become darker than the lower half (about 4 clicks of the light button lower). Sometimes the screen will flick to become even darker than this (but usually it returns to the 4 clicks darker after a short while), and sometimes it returns to normal only to go darker again.

Jun 23, 2010I have a MacBook Pro with the 9600gt in it. Since updating to 10.6.4 this morning 2 times while playing java games i've had the bottom half of my screen go black and most of the top half flicker. I've had to hold in the power button and reset both times. The second time I closed the screen and reopened it, the screen was black but no mouse and nothing moved.
Any advice? Would this be something to do with my graphics card or possibly some error in 10.6.4?Edit:: This is software related to 10.6.4 update and only happens when I open up a java game in a browser.

Oct 31, 2008I started up iTunes, checked my email, and looked up to see the top half of my display drop about 15 shades darker than the bottom half! I called Apple Care who told me they had never heard of something like this before and advised me to call the nearest Apple Store. I did, and like Apple Care, they had never heard of this happening.

Right now, I am buying HD versions of videos so I can play them to their greatest on the Apple TV. I don't however want the HD version of the video on my iphone, SD is fine and doesn't take up huge amounts of space. Right now, I have to go the ITunes store on my iphone, search for the movie and then scroll to the bottom and click "Available in SD" and then click download.
Surely there has to be an easier way?! I should just be able to go to "Videos" on the iphone, and then download in SD, but it will only do it in HD and I cant afford to have a single file taking up 4gb of space.
