I just reconfigured my adsl2+ wifi router and after that wifi gets connected and I can access the router but I am not able to connect to the internet .

I have a MacBook pro that I'm having issues with. It connects to my home Wi-Fi (the n version of the Apple Airport Base Station) and I get a strong signal but whether I use Firefox or any other web browser or internet based program I get a message that I'm not connected to the internet. I can even select network diagnostics and it walks me through steps where I choose my network, reset my cable modem, base station, etc. and at the end it says it is unable to fix the problem. i have a 2nd MBP that I use on the same network with no issues at all. This issue started showing up about a month ago but did not happen often. Most of the time it happened when I had shut my MBP down since I had to go take it with me to meetings. Often after removing the battery for a minute I could boot up and it would work but now no matter what I do it won't work.

I downloaded hotspot shield and immediately my internet stopped working. Wifi still connects to every available wifi. Every other device can connect without an issue. I deleted hotspot shield from applications and the problem persists. When i delete then re-add wifi in network settings it temporarily says no ip.

I tried ringing apple but unbeknownst to me my warranty has expired so wanted to see could I fix it before using money that was intended for my new iPhone. Right, so yesterday I used a friends o2 dongle and I was asked did I want to save internet settings, I said yes - not knowing what I was saving (silly silly).
I had to do work at my old college but was unable to connect to wifi. Went to the IT lads and they fixed it - sort of - I could access the Internet but no sites that required a log in eg gmail facebook.
I am now at home and on my iPod typing this as my Mbp won't connect to the Internet! It was connecting to the wifi provider, have full signal but won't load the pages. I know it can't be the wifi as my iPod works fine.
I have a MPB early 2011 and I have talktalk internet. I have absolutely no problems with my wifi up until the last week. I can use the internet perfectly fine downstairs when I am in the living room (where the router is located) as I am typing this using it, however when I go upstairs i.e. to the bedroom directly above where the router is situated I am still connected to the internet at the wifi symbol is black however i lose internet connection and I am not able to use the internet at all. This is a new issue as before, I was able to use my MPB anywhere in the house without any problems. Â
I don't believe it's the router as my iPhone connects fine upstairs and we also have a MPB late 2013 and that works perfectly fine upstairs. Â

1. tried deleting Airport and then re-adding then clicking apply. Worked the very first time I tried this and it has only worked twice since.
2. tried allowing all incoming connections, worked once now problem still persists.
3. Tried re-starting router, this has never worked
4. There was a post about deleting a file, the person said they were instructed by apple care to do this, that didn't work either. Â
- Seems to only do this when the computer is on sleep mode
- everything else in the house connects fine to the internet
- this problem does not only happen in my house, it happens at coffee shops etc
- sometimes it is able to connect via tethering off my iphone
- this was a problem 2 years ago on this computer, then it was fine for 2 years and now it's back!Â

I use a 4G Galaxy Nexus to broadcast a private WPA2 network. The 4G signal is always strong, and I've verified that the internet is active on the broadcasting device, and that other non-Apple devices maintain a solid connection. However my macbook pro does not lose the network connection, the internet stops working only on the macbook pro and I must "turn Wifi Off" and back on using the top right menu icon in order for the internet connection to resume working on the laptop. It will stop working every 5-10 minutes.

My old macbook pro, as well as every single other device, is able to connect to the internet without issue. My new macbook, however, isn't able to. Everything is typed in correctly as it is connecting to the router. Just no internet. However, there is one strange difference between my old macbook and my new macbook. The old one has a subnet mask of 255.255.255.0 while the new one has 255.255.0.0. The old one also has router information under the subnet mask, while the new one is blank.Â

I have moved to a new place and I was able to connect my imac and mobile devices to the internet via WIFI but not my macbook pro. I have tried all the suggestions I have seen here but didn't work. I'm running OSX 10.5.8 on a Macbook Pro, and today I've been unable to connect to the internet via ethernet or wi-fi, unless I'm in safe mode. Then everything seems to work as it should, which makes me believe that this is a software issue rather than a hardware problem. I've tried making a new account with administrator priveleges, but that doesn't solve my issue. Does anyone have any advice on how I can connect to the internet under my normal user account, rather than in safe mode? I should note that I won't be able to get my hands on my repair CD or perform a clean install of OSX because that stuff is at home, and I'm in college. Also, I'm at a university and don't have a router. I just use the campus-wide wi-fi. Finally, my roommate has no problem accessing the internet in our room via ethernet or wi-fi, but I do. I just got a new MacBook and have been copying files via Ethernet from my pc. One thing I noticed is that whenever an Ethernet cable is plugged in nad hooked up to the router, the Internet stops working on both mac and pc. However, my torrent client on my pc continues downloading so it's not actually stopping, the browser is just failing to connect as is the official network status. Why is this?

(I also own an older iMac plus a unibody Macbook.) I go to the office today, and the wireless and ethernet cables connect and show bars, but fail to load any pages off the internet. All of the other computers in the office are PCs and connect perfectly fine to the internet using both wifi and ethernet cables. It's just the iMac.

In trying to fix a connection problem the other day, I snooped around in some areas of my computer that I normally stay safely away from, but I don't believe I actually changed any settings. It turned out to be an error on the part of my ISP and all is well now... except that ever since then, I am stopped in my tracks every 30 minutes by a popup message from Internet Connect that tells me I'm still connected to the internet and asks whether I want to disconnect or stay connected.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have the 13" Macbook Pro mid 2012 model and for some reason the wifi status bar would show full strength however when I open up Chrome or Safari the webpages won't load at all. I'll get a message saying something like "can't connect to Internet." I first thought it was my modem but all the lights are lit up and it shows I do have an Internet connection. I get the same problem with my ipod touch 4g as well. Only on the ipod's side it will try and connect but fails to do so at all. So I have two devices that fail to connect despite an existing Internet connection.

My father made a wifi network for our house. When I got my Macbook Pro in December 2011, I had no problem connecting to it. As soon as I turned on my computer, I was automatically connected. However, for at least 2 months now, I am unable to connect to my network. When I try connecting, a message will pop up saying: "Unable to join network, Connection timeout occured." I talked to someone from AppleCare, and they told me since my router to the wifi network was not from Apple, I would have to unplug the router and turn off my computer. Then wait 2 minutes or so, and turn everything back on. Is there anny way I could try connecting to my network without turning off my computer?

I am trying to connect my MacBook Pro to a new Netgear router (the Mac worked flawlessly with the previous wireless router). It claims to be connected to the Internet through Network Diagnostics but cannot resolve any sites (or gmail etc) in both Safari & Firefox. (And yes, all updates have been installed, and yes it connects flawlessly via Ethernet.)
I don't think it's the new router as my iPhone happily connects through it as well as a wireless PC notebook that I have, so why is the MacBook Pro having a problem?
