I need to zap my macbook to give to my husband but before I do that I need to transfer all my contacts, all my safari favorites and all my word processing documents. Is there an easy way to do this in 1, 2 or 3 batches instead of manually.

I put a new drive in the G5 & installed OS 10.5 (the G4 lap runs 10.4) and installed the apps from the original discs onto the new G5 drive. However, I am missing my Photoshop CS2 disc. View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a 24" iMac and it was running fine the other week and now I get this annoying error=36 whenever I try to transfer large files from desktop to my external drives. It goes about 1/4 way with the transfers then stops with the error=36 message. I've tried to reset the pram but it won't let me. It just keeps on restarting to the same gray screen with the single short beep tone over and over until I let go of the option, command, P & R buttons and restarts normally but does not reset the pram.

It seems that the contacts app has suddenly become incapable of accessing my contacts in the cloud. Its fine on icloud.com, its fine on my phone, and its fine on my ipads. However, I'm getting an error message right now which I think must be to do with an update to Little Snitch which I did almost immediately before, and which necessitated a reboot. I'm not exactly sure of where to post this... I'm having a problem with my computer (Address Book, I believe) syncing w/ Google contacts. I'm getting the following error messages:
The first image is the original error that comes up. If I click More Info, it brings me to a list of contacts. The "Before" info contains the correct fields for their email addresses (e.g., school, work, etc). However, Google wants to get rid of these fields.
Is there any way I can get Google to accept this fields? Also, can I have Google revert to my Mac's info instead of the other way around (my mac using Google's changes)

I have a 2011 Macbook Pro and an older (5 year old) Western Digital external hard drive. I have always used this hard drive for both mac and windows. Recently, however, whenever I go to transfer a file from the mac to the WD hard drive, the little transfer window pops up and it appears to initiate the transfer. However, it never fully starts it. It appears to "get stuck" in that initiating stage, showing zero of 3.16 gb transferred and shows an unknown transfer time. This happens no matter how long I leave it open. Again, I have used this external hard drive with my macs for the past 5 years without any problems until now. I haven't moved or modified the WD hard drive

I had a crash on my HP laptop and had to re-install windows XP on it. I have also installed again Itunes on the laptop.

So over the last month or 2, I have been having this issue where my MBP (early 2008) will act as though the desktop doesnt exist. I can see it, everything functions normally, all programs operate fine, I can use spaces, expose, etc, but when I try to interact with my desktop, nothing works. View 1 Replies View RelatedAfter upgrading to 10.7.3 all my contacts on both adress book and iPhone are gone. what is left are only the ones in iCloud (which only some small numbers of contacts compared the ones on my 'all from my mac'-which was my problem to begin with, why can't it all sync?) luckily for me, the contacts are still there on my MS Outlook contacts, but i cant sync it back to my adress book. does anyone had the same problem?
