Mar 25, 2012I have lost my contacts. I can see them in TM, but they will not restore using the standard procedure. Restoring from iCloud is not an option. I understand that in Snow Leopard it was necessary to go to the following folder in Finder "/users/username/library/application support/address book. start address book " - and restore that folder in TM. However, that folder does not exist in Lion. How do I restore contacts using TM?

OS X Mavericks :: Contacts App Has Suddenly Become Incapable Of Accessing Contacts In ICloud
Aug 22, 2014It seems that the contacts app has suddenly become incapable of accessing my contacts in the cloud. Its fine on icloud.com, its fine on my phone, and its fine on my ipads. However, I'm getting an error message right now which I think must be to do with an update to Little Snitch which I did almost immediately before, and which necessitated a reboot. Since the reboot, I am seeing the following
Of course, this also means Messages doesnt work. LS is not blocking any icloud things, and calendars and mail are still working with no issues.Â

Jan 20, 2010I'm not exactly sure of where to post this... I'm having a problem with my computer (Address Book, I believe) syncing w/ Google contacts. I'm getting the following error messages:
The first image is the original error that comes up. If I click More Info, it brings me to a list of contacts. The "Before" info contains the correct fields for their email addresses (e.g., school, work, etc). However, Google wants to get rid of these fields.
Is there any way I can get Google to accept this fields? Also, can I have Google revert to my Mac's info instead of the other way around (my mac using Google's changes)

Jul 3, 2012My iPad [1] IOS 5 has a number of duplicate addresses, but does NOT include *all* my Contacts from my Mac. My Mac is OSX 10.7.  I have selected iCloud as my storage, not 'my computer'I have tried deleting the iPad Contacts [iCloud>slider 'off'] but when I return the slider to 'on' the Contacts are repopulated, but with all the same duplicates and omissions as before. I have allowed a time delay; tried restarting the computer; nothing makes any difference. I am reduced to sending myself emails containing the missing addresses! In additon to the above... Pt2: the duplicates in iPad Contacts have more - eg repeating the Home address - or sometimes less, information. and if I add a name to a Group, there is immediately a duplicate entry created in the main address list [I could have >8 duplicated entries for one name if added to several group mailings] Deleting duplicates is pointless, as they reappear.

Sep 11, 2014Recently my iCloud account was hacked and all my Contacts were erased. This also caused all my Contacts on my iPhone and iMac to be erased as well. I can restore my Contacts from a Time Machine Back up to my iMac "Address Book", however as soon as I connect back to iCloud, all the contacts are erased. I tried to restore my iPhone from an earlier iPhone backup which restored everything, as far as I know, except the Contacts. I don't have a huge number of contacts or groups, so I don't care if the group information is lost. There seems to be some conflicting information on how to do this correctly, so I'm asking what the current best practice is to restore all my contacts from a Time Machine Backup to iCloud.Â

Mar 25, 2012I have tried to sinchronize the Contacts in my iMac, but it doesn´t work. I have linked my iMac to iCloud. When I go to iCloud directly through Internet, I can see the "Contacts" I haver in iCloud. I have 6,624 contacts. The list of contactas can be seen in both iCliud and on my Mac. But when I add new contacts in my iMac (today I added 4), it doesn´t synchronize. The new contacts do not appear in the Cloud. How can I establish a good link so synchronization can effectively take place?

Aug 28, 2014I run Contacts on both my iPad2 and my iMac; I find that in the listing to the left of the Contacts on the iMac, 'All iCloud' appears twice; one with 519 entries (which is correct) and the other with 78 entries, 77 of them also in the other one. They are synced via iCloud, not iTunes; I've tried to sort this by exporting the vCards to my desktop and then attempting to trash Contacts and reinstall but this is not permitted as it's 'required by OSX', which seems reasonable. It sometimes becomes a problem when I'm using lists and discover that some people are not on the list I am using because - for some inexplicable (to me, at least) reason, they're on the other iCloud list.

Dec 7, 2014I have an Epson XP 610 printer on my iMac. This is a new printer but when I attempt to print an envelope from Contacts or an App I purchased some time ago which uses Contacts I get the address but also a rectangular black filled in box area towards the left of the envelope. It does not appear on the preview screen just on the printed copy. All other apps such as numbers or notes etc all print out fine. This has only appeared since I have used this new printer.

OS X V10.7 Lion :: Contacts Are Different On Mac And IPhone Even After Sync
Mar 24, 2012I have an issue with contacts on my devices. My iPhone 4s, and my MacBook Pro. I am running Lion and the latest version of everything and yadayadayada. But I want the Address Book on my Mac to be identical to the one on my iPhone so I have numbers and emails all stored of my friends and family on my Mac as well as iPhone. However, when I go to iTunes and click sync contacts and all that, it does something with Google and crap to match them and it's just a total mess. On my iPhone I have groups of contacts that are "From My Mac" which contains about 2/3 of all my contacts. Like some synced and others didn't. Then there is an "iCloud" group. Which contains very very few contacts and doesn't do crap for me. Then there is an "All Contacts" group that actually has everything. I thought iCloud was going to sync ALL my contacts to ALL my devices? I don't know what to do right now at all. I think my Mac is syncing with Google and not my iPhone because the only contacts it's syncing are the ones from my old droid on that email, which is also my Apple ID. So should I take my Mac off syncing with gmail contacts and then I can remove all the gmail contacts off of gmail for good or whatever and then I can get my iPhone contacts on?
