I have an Intel iMac and wish to move the movies and music I have in ITunes to a WD 2TB MyBook Studio External Hard Drive, free up my hard drive and still use iTunes. What is the easiest way to move movies to the external drive and then wipe them off my computer to free up space.
how long it will take roughly to transfer music from mac book to imac via home sharing - I have about 17GB and so far it seems to be transferring one song about every 2-3 mins . is that normal?
I just bought a new iMac to replace my 8 year old MacPro and was advised here to install all apps with a clean install rather than migrate 8 years of content over to the new machine. How do I transfer over my Contacts, Mail folders and Safari bookmarks?
Just got an iMac. iTunes purchased items such as music/ movies are not updated after iTunes installation - despite using same Apple Store ID and registering the iMac in the Apps Store account.
I just purchased a new iMac 21.5 inch desktop and I'd like to take the hard drive out of my old macbook pro and transfer my iPhoto and iTunes library to this new desktop. How would I do that and what would I need? The macbook pro model is a 2010 13.3 2.4 2x2gb 250gb part number MC374LL/A.

I love AirPlay. I use it on my iPod Touch the moment I get home to play music to my speakers connected via AirPort Express. I use it on my iPad too when i'm watching a movie..
Even on my MBP when listening to music from iTunes. But Movies in iTunes don't work. The AirPlay icon in a movie playing in iTunes only shows "computer" and doesn't show any other options.
I like to have all my music in ITunes which is in my Powerbook G4 10.4.11 transferred to the Imac OSX Lion 10.7.3, so I can then sync it to the IPhone. Since I am not able to go directly from the Powerbook to the IPhone.

I need to zap my macbook to give to my husband but before I do that I need to transfer all my contacts, all my safari favorites and all my word processing documents. Is there an easy way to do this in 1, 2 or 3 batches instead of manually.
I have an iMac that is rapidly filling up. I would like to move my iTunes and iPhoto library to my external harddrive (I currently use for Time Machine). Is this possible or even adviseable? If I were to do this, what would I need to do. Is it as simple as moving the folders that hold these files on to the external. Would the programs find them.
I would like to transfer old home movies on vhs onto my macbook...I was told that a tv tuner would be the way to go. I found one and it is the ATI TV Wonder HD 650 Combo. Now my question is since it records in mpeg2 am i going to have to get something to convert the files from mpeg2 to mpeg4 so that imovie will be able to read and edit the clips...
I have a Belkin USB hub with 4 slots. I was trying to transfer some movies to an external drive. It said it'd take 7 hours. When I connected the drive directly to my laptop, it took 5 minutes. I'm wondering if there is a better hub to use or if this one is just defective.

At the moment most of my music is either stored on my Macbook or on an external hard drive. Is it possible to transfer all my music and videos to an external hard drive and then sync it with Itune so that every time I plug it in I can access them?

I have an old macbook that has all my songs on, as well as my iPod. I have recently got an iMa which currently has no music on, how would I transfer the music from the iPod to the new iMac, or alternatively from the old Macbook to the iMac?
Do you know of any software I can download for free that enables me to store my 1000 or so contacts from my Samsung Solstice phone? I've been looking around for days now but haven't found anything useful. Nor do I know how will the transfer will actually happen - can I bluetooth the contacts to my Macbook Pro, keeping all the info intact (names, different #s for home, work, etc.)?
Can I transfer music photos from my old pc to my new Mac, plus I have a hard drive that is Mac compatible but all the stuff is from my pc will it transferÂ
My daughter bought a new Macbook Pro. When she took her old Gateway computer in to the Apple store for them to transfer her files they told her they were not able to transfer her music files due to corrupt files on the old computer. All of her music she has purchased since about 2005 are on her ipod and phone. Some of the original music she purchased was through an AOL account which she has since discontinued and the rest of her music has been purchased under her mobileme/icloud account. Since purchasing the new laptop, she has not synced her ipod or iphone with the laptop, as we have been told that she will potentially lose all those songs which were purchased under the old AOL account, which is probably better than 50% of her songs. What is going to happen to her music if she snycs the ipod or iphone with this laptop?
Over the last few years we have had laptops breaking down and have had to transfer music and I was wondering how many times can you transfer from computer to another computer? Â
