I have saved about 300 photos on CD from a Windows Vista PC in PSD and JPEG formats. When I tried to insert the CD to my Macbook it says that it is not readable. Is there any way I can get the files to work on my Mac Photoshop or any other programme on Mac?

I am having problems with Preview and Snow Leopard. I can use Quick View to view jpeg files, but when I open them with preview. It does not display the correct image. It just displays a gray block. The only way to resolves this is to delete the preview prefernce files, and then it works. But after a couple of restarts it goes back to not displaying the correct image.

View 3 Replies View RelatedMy wife and son are at her parent's house tonight, and I'm back at our house. I sent her there with a new ipod touch, so we can Facetime (I have an iphone 4). I told her she'd have to input her dad's network password. When she gets there she calls and says he can't remember the password. Then I remember it's saved on my MBP. I look it up (Settings>Network>advanced>[His network]>edit) and I can tell it's 10 characters (10 dots), but the "show password" box is ghosted. Other networks are 9 or 16 or 14 characters. His is a WPA2 network, like most of the others on the list. I'm running OSX 10.6.4. I seem to recall there was a way to show the password of a saved network. My MBP connects automatically so it's on here somewhere.

For some reason when I save a Microsoft 2008 Word file to my desktop, as soon as I am done saving it, stuffit opens and a folder with the same name as the .docx file is created that contains the .docx info. So everytime I save one file I end up with 1 word doc and one corresponding folder. Any feedback on how to stop this or hide the folders or put the folders in their default directory?

A couple times now, I've tried to copy DVDs onto my computer, then realize they won't work. I think it's because I copied the files and not the movie, but that's not the issue. The issue is, when I go to delete them, I can't. My parents have kept a password on my computer since I got it about three years ago. It's a rare occasion when they take the password off for a few days. Under those circumstances, when the password is off, I can delete the file without any issue. But when the password is on, I can't even move the file to the trash. It keeps asking for a password. I can't even move it to a different folder. It's just sitting on my desktop, taking up space. There's not even anything in it, because I stopped the copying only seconds after it started.
My question is, how can I get around the password to delete this file? I can't restart my computer or anything, because I'll need a password to do that. I need some trick that will bypass the password and get it into the trash. And deleted from the trash, if possible.
