Applications :: Revert A Saved File?
iJust deleted a couple object in IDCS2 and hit command-S instead of command-Z. These objects had lots of attributes applied to them and this will take me forever to get this thing back to the way it originally was. Is this possible to recover?

OS X :: Revert Back After Bootup - Changes Not Saved On Shutdown
I have a 27" iMac that I bought in February. Last night I installed an SSD into the Optical Drive slot and now the weirdest thing is happening. I have OS X installed on the drive, and it boots no problem, but, oddly, anything I do isn't saved on shutdown. Boot Up Delete Desktop Items Shut Down Wait a Minute Boot Up Desktop Items are Back. Boot Up Install A Program Shut Down Wait a Minute Boot Up Program's Not There It's like it's reverting back to some random version of the OS O_o; I don't have anything like Deep Freeze running, though, nor is this drive set up for Time Machine. It has my MobileMe freaking the heck out too, it keeps saying it needs to rebuild x, y, or z when I log in.

Applications :: Word File Saved With One Corresponding Folder?
For some reason when I save a Microsoft 2008 Word file to my desktop, as soon as I am done saving it, stuffit opens and a folder with the same name as the .docx file is created that contains the .docx info. So everytime I save one file I end up with 1 word doc and one corresponding folder. Any feedback on how to stop this or hide the folders or put the folders in their default directory?

ITunes Mac :: Library File Cannot Be Saved A Duplicate File Name Was Specified
I keep my music and my library file on an external drive. I've been having this error whenever I try to download the updates for my iphone apps, and then after it's popped up once, it continues. After I quit the app, when I try to restart iTunes it won't open because of an unknown error 13014. If I trash the itunes genius and extras files, I can get iTunes to open again, but then I'm back to the library file cannot be saved problem. Information: macbook pro Mac OS X (10.6.4)

i recently installed itunes version 8 on my mac, everything was alright until i went to update the software on my iphone. i did some searching and read that version 8 wont let you install the iphone software. i want to go back to version 7.7.1 of itunes but whenever i try to install it, i get this error message: "You cannot install iTUNES on this volume. A newer version of iTUNES is already installed." how do i go back to the older version i had so that i can update my iphones software?

OS X Leopard :: Open File Can't Be Saved To Server
noticed that it seems to be dropping the connection to our Windows 2003 Server. (not happening on my other machine using OS10.4). Snow Leopard :: ITunes Library File Cannot Be Saved / What Does That Mean?
I received a message "The iTunes library file cannot be saved. There is not enough memory available." I received it several time, once it also added: (error -50) What does that mean ? Not my Music Folder in iTunes, is it ? I know it can handle 32.000 songs. I have, it says at the bottom: 3716 songs, 240 days, 24.64 GB When I received this message I was downloading a movie and thought it refers to that. While it said "…cannot be saved" I saw the movie being downloaded apparently without problems, waited 2-3 minutes and indeed it was saved, so why the message ? (if it refers to the movie). But it says "The iTunes library" file cannot be saved. So coincidence ? Nothing to do with movies ? In any case, I want to know what it means and also how can I add more memory ? ITunes Mac :: Library File Cannot Be Saved Error -50
This morning I'm continually getting this error message popping up on my iTunes. Last night I had to restart my Mac as everything had frozen, and it was the same scenario this morning when I returned to it. After restarting and playing some tunes the error message started to appear, and switching between playlists etc. was very slow with the beach ball spinning a lot. I've a large iTunes collection (95,000+ tracks) stored on an external firewire drive. I've read elsewhere this morning someone having a problem, and reinstalling Snow Leopard was suggested and after many hours it seemed to work. Has anybody else come across this error, and had other solutions to the problem? Information: iMac Mac OS X (10.6.4)

Pages 09 :: Unable To Read Saved PDF File On CD Disk
I recently composed a several page Christmas letter (pics and text) and wanted to take it to a commercial printer for hard copies. The commercial printers are not Mac compatible so he told me to save it in a PDF format and they would use that. I was unable to read the saved Pages PDF file on my PC when saved to a CD disk. However when I save the PDF file to an SD card, I can then open and read it on my PC. When I view the CD on my PC, it shows no files at all on the CD. So I do now have the file to take to the printer via SD card, but am confused as to why I could not save it to the cd disk. The saved file on cd could however be read on my Mac when I would open it there, just not on my PC. Information: MacBook Mac OS X (10.6.2)

I want to update my iPad to the new iOS but am running into a problem. Here is my sequence of events after plugging it in and letting it take over: itunes first message to appear: [URL] I click 'download and install' 2nd message: [URL] I click 'cancel' [URL] I click 'OK' and then the message just keeps popping up. If I click on 'Music', I can see all my stuff. iTunes is recognizing everything. Applications :: Needed To Re-install OSX, Files Were Saved, Applications Were Not?
alrightyyy so basically my unibody 2008 macbook crashed a short while back, needed to re-install OSX, files were saved, applications were not. I had been using iLife '09 off a copy that my mother got with with her 2009 polycarbonate macbook. After the crash I upgraded to 10.6 and attempted to install iLife '09 again. It told me thus: 'Alert: this software cannot be installed on this computer'. And that's it. I can't access any of my pictures in iPhoto or upload any(3 wedding albums :3), and I can't access any of my old Garage Band files, simply because they were created on '09 and since the reboot I'm stuck with '08. Major bummer. Bottom Line: is there any way to get iLife '09 on my computer without wasting $100 just to access files?

Applications :: Word Docs Saved As Aliased To Applications Folder?
My dad was saving a bunch of Word docs on his Mac - he had one large file that he split up into twenty-some smaller files, which he then saved onto both his desktop and on a flash drive. Somehow along the way (neither he nor I had any clue how) but 4 of those files saved as an alias that point to nowhere. In other words, I can't find the originals anywhere on his computer or flash drives. Even stranger is that one of those files aliased to the Applications folder. Keep in mind these are all supposed to be word documents. They all still end with .doc, but their type is an alias. I have no clue how they were created as an alias, but they were. It's probably a longshot without knowing where the original is located, but do any of you guys know how to possibly retrieve this?

Applications :: Does ITunes 10.1 Break Colour Customization And Revert Traffic Lights
Love it or hate it, I couldn't stand the all-gray iTunes and the vertical traffic lights. So I dropped a little script in the terminal and installed a modification to bring colour back to my icons. Now that iTunes 10.1 is out, does anyone have any experience with it breaking such modifications? I can't quite remember what it was I changed or I would experiment for myself. Unfortunately I'm tech savvy enough for basic trouble shooting and following explicit directions but not enough to know all the components of iTunes. I think I replaced a resource file of some kind.

Applications :: Email Could Not Be Saved
I have an AOL email account as well as an email for my business through my website. The email for my business is working with no problems, but the AOL email is not showing the emails i am sending in the sent folder. It is also not saving an email as a draft if I choose to do so, it says "the email could not be saved". I also have both these email accounts linked to my phone and use the email app on my phone to send and receive emails for both accounts during the day. I am using my laptop during the evening with the mac mail app and that is where I am having the problem. My phone will show the sent messages that I send on my phone, but none of them that I have sent from my laptop either. Anyone know why the emails I send do not show in the sent folder in the mail app on my laptop? Why it is telling me it cannot save an email as a draft? Everything was working fine a couple weeks ago, but since then I have not been able to view my sent messages or save emails as drafts.

For example when I search by the sender's name in Finder, it will list emails that contain the sender's name. But when I want to look for those emails in ï¼µser/Library/Caches/Metadata/Microsoft.... or wherever all I get is a bunch of numbered emails like "1.vRge08Message" and up to whatever number of emails I got in Entourage. Why doesn't it display emails by the sender's name like it did when I searched for them in Finder?

Applications :: Why QuickTime Saved Videos Buffering
I have hundreds of videos of various formats on my late 2008 model Macbook Pro. Up until this point I have had no issues playing videos. I recently updated Flip4Mac app and now when I try to open videos in Quicktime they have to buffer, even though they are stored on my Macbook. This doesn't happen for all videos, but the majority of them. I'm on OSX version 10.5.8, Quicktime version 7.6.4, Flip4Mac version 2.3.1.2. Why my saved videos are now buffering? This only happens with .wmv files I have come to realize, this never used to be the case.

Applications :: Export Safari Saved Passwords To Another Mac
I am redoing my moms Macbook and she has her passwords saved in Safari, and you cant view them, like you can in Firefox, so I was wondering if there is any way to export or view them? I saw a thread that said copy ~/Library/Keychains and put that on the new Mac, but I just want to make sure that that will work, or if there is someway I can actually view the passwords & logins, etc.

Applications :: Unable To Open Keynote Presentation File - File Corrupted?
Today I tried opening my keynotes presentation file to make amendments to it and when I double clicked on it, the program loading bar only loaded up a third of the way and then hanged. I then tried to save it to a flash drive and use it on a different computer, but when I tried to copy it over to the flash drive it gave me this error: "the finder cannot complete the operation because some data in "garment styles" could not be read or written error code - 36". I have tried changing the file extension to a zip, then unzipping it and then renaming it but that did not work.(It wouldn't let me unzip it). I have also looked at the index file name to see if that was the problem, but that is as it should be. I have also tried uploading it to a website and emailing it and it will not let me. Is there anyway I can recover this file as I have been working on it for over a month and it is due next week, or will I need to start again?
