iJust deleted a couple object in IDCS2 and hit command-S instead of command-Z. These objects had lots of attributes applied to them and this will take me forever to get this thing back to the way it originally was. Is this possible to recover?

For some reason when I save a Microsoft 2008 Word file to my desktop, as soon as I am done saving it, stuffit opens and a folder with the same name as the .docx file is created that contains the .docx info. So everytime I save one file I end up with 1 word doc and one corresponding folder. Any feedback on how to stop this or hide the folders or put the folders in their default directory?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI am using Mail from my 15", late 2012, 2.6 GHz Intel Core i7 MBP running Maverick OSX 10.9.5 with 16 GB memory. I have 4 mail accounts with approximately 30 folders. Everything has worked fairly good the past year, with a bump here and there. Suddenly today nearly all mail in these folders has disappeared. There are a few folders that have retained all their mail, however the majority is gone. Is there a remedy or is it gone? Rebuild has done no good.

I have a Mac Air running Mavericks on a HFS partition and Windows 7 on a BOOTCAMP NTFS partition. I have some files that I want to read/write from/to both systems. Since OS X can't write NTFS and Windows can't write HFS either, and I don't want to use any 3rd-party tools/drivers, in OS X, I copy those files from NTFS to its HFS partition, make changes, then switch to Windows and sync them back to NTFS.Â
The problem is, after I copied a file from NTFS to HFS in OS X, it seemed ok. But when I switched to Windows, the very copied file in HFS partition had its size changed (bigger) although I didn't make any changes to it in OS X yet. This happens to almost every file I copied, text and binary. For those text files, I tried to open it with EditPlus in Windows and EditPlus reports the correct size on the status bar.Â

If I have file sharing turned on on my macbook pro retina (late 2013 model) I cannot put it to sleep at all. The manual sleep option from the apple menu does nothing apart from dimming the display. The computer stays on. This is plainly a bug.
Steps to reproduce:
turn on network file sharing.
have a client connect to your mac (he does not need to stay actively connected and using filesystem at the moment of sleep attempt).
Then choose sleep from the apple menu
result: no sleep.
