View 24 RepliesI just got sims 3. Running on the 13 inch mbp fairly well. A little too much stuttering for me though. My question is, to anyone who has this game, have you found the write settings where the game runs 100% smooth? I'll sacrifice graphics for smoothness. Wanted to know what the general consensus is for to game to get running really smooth. Didnt want to just bring all my sliders down to a minimum without knowing what I am doing. It seems as if when I play sims 3, the fan is on high rev, throughout the whole time.
View 1 Replies View RelatedBefore the drive stopped working on my macbook, i was able to install the sims 2 and all of the expansion packs!, they are all updated to UB. When i run the game it goes So Slow!, i mean slower than the sims 3, which runs pretty slow. I have a late 2007 macbook, with 2GB ram, Intel GMA X3100, 120GB HDD, core 2 duo 2.2Ghz. Do i meet the requirements?

View 1 Replies View RelatedMy Macbook Pro that I bought in Sept 09 keeps rejecting the sims 3 disk. It doesn't do this with any other disk. I had once installed and played the sims 3 just fine on my laptop but I can't even get the cd to load anymore so can't install it.

View 6 Replies View RelatedIf your 14 days or under on the return policy and bought from Best Buy, check your local stores. Mine got theirs in yesterday. Went over there this morning and exchanged my UMB 2.0 for the 13" MBP 2.26. Didn't get charged a restocking fee and ended up owing only 106 bucks (I went in on Wednesday and price matched down to 1099 which is why I owed money on the exchange).
View 2 Replies View RelatedI am wondering what kind of SSD is stock in the Rev A MBA and how much you could sell a used SSD for and also what are some good options to swap out that out for a 128GB SSD - I know the Runcore is out there - any other options?
View 1 Replies View Relatedi replaced my stock HDD 250Go (Hitachi 5K500.B) by a Seagate Momentus 7200.4 500Go. First thing is that, unlike what's being said on many forums, this hard drive is a litte noisy, actually more than the stock one. But this is not the subject of my post. The issue is since i installed my new HDD, the MBP stays at least 10 seconds on the white screen before booting. Then after these 10 seconds, the apple logo appears and the MBP begins to boot. I thought it was just an issue at the first boot, but no. Even after several reboots, the thing is the same.
View 10 Replies View RelatedI have just bought a X25-M SSD drive for my MBP (mid-2010). Is it recommend to clone my existing stock drive to get OSX on the SSD or should I rebuild from scratch and perhaps use Time Machine to recover all my apps and settings?
Any advice appreciated.
sorry if this has been asked; I tried searching.Anyway, I just bought a larger capacity hard drive and am not sure how to copy the stock 160GB 5400RPM one.Do I need to have some sort of connection to the new hard drive? Is there any way to copy it without having to buy some kind of peripheral?I also have an external hard drive.Would my best bet be just backing everything up and just set up the hard drive as new and just restoring everything??
View 5 Replies View Relatedanyone know if there will be any conflicts if i intend to swap the stock hdd with a WD scorpio 640/500gb on the new macbook pro?
anyone tried it yet?
I have the new MBP. I'm running OS 10.5.6 2.53 ghz intro core 2 duo 4 gigs of ram. I have enough to run it. I had issues installing it. It told me I needed 1 mb to run it. so I drug the folder into the mac HD. When the base game works perfectly. I have all the expansion games. Which works on my IMac running the same thing & my old MBP. When I install the first expansion pack & launch it the error reads. The application the sims 2 quit unexpectedly & it says the same thing when I want to relaunch.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI downloaded it from [URL] and it opens up but then it says "could not verify the integrity of the installer" and then I click OK and it quits.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI just got my new MBP and it has a Toshiba MK5055GSXF 500gb inside. My old one has a WD Scorpio Blue 500gb. I know the Scorpio Blue is supposed to be fast for a 5400rpm. Does anyone have an opinion whether it would be worth it to switch them? Is the WD superior?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI know the WD 1TB is bigger than the stock HDs in MBPs so was wondering if there was an external hard drive enclosure out there that was cheap and can fit either hard drive? Also what is everyone's thoughts regarding the WD Scorpio Blue 1TB? I bought one before but returned it because of strange sounds but my stock drive makes the same sounds so I guess it was a minor issue.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have managed to use crossover to install my PC version of the Sims 2, but I am unable to play the game. When I start the game it asks that I insert the disk, which is already been inserted. How to sort this? or maybe make it available to run without the disk?
View 2 Replies View Related I tried installing Sims 3 on my MBP but for some reason it stops at 569 out of 600 files so I force quitted and tried again and got the same results and force quitted subsequently too. I did that about 4 times. Sims 3 would put about 6 GB on your HD and I found out afterwards I had about 24 GB missing after that attempted installs. How can I remove that 24 GB?
Running Snow Leopard btw.
OS: Mavericks 10.9.4Â
I have Sims Medieval on DVD disc. Yesterday, when I inserted it into my Mac, it said the disc was blank. I have played the game on my Mac before, though I do not think I have tried to play it since I upgraded to Mavericks in March this year. I last had Snow Leopard, and it worked fine.Â
I did put the disc into a Windows machine today and it recognised that it was a Sims game (dual OS disc) and showed me the files.Â
I have never run into this type of problem before, and I don't own any other software on disc that runs on only Mac or both Mac and Windows so I can see if it is just this program.Â
I have found one thread on a website where people have had the same problem, but no one has a solution and they're all moaning about EA not fixing it, when the game came out in 2011 and so I think the problem is with Mavericks, not EA.

I believe that is the one without WD's free fall sensor (or whatever it is called)?
I can get a very good deal on it (41€). I plan on copying my stock 250GB Toshiba drive 1:1 to it with Carbon Copy Cloner.
Would this drive be good?
