When i go to play sims pets, its saying a new software update is available, so i update my game and then it says some files have been modified please re-install, also i cant log in.I have a brand new macbook pro so i know it is not my computer this didn't happen until i got pets. Its a brand new mbp 13' preinstalled with Lion
Before the drive stopped working on my macbook, i was able to install the sims 2 and all of the expansion packs!, they are all updated to UB. When i run the game it goes So Slow!, i mean slower than the sims 3, which runs pretty slow. I have a late 2007 macbook, with 2GB ram, Intel GMA X3100, 120GB HDD, core 2 duo 2.2Ghz. Do i meet the requirements?
I just have a brief question. I'm a light user and I want to purchase a new MBA 13' base config with 4 GB RAM. Would this be good enough to play sims 3 smoothly?
Will the Sims 3 run efficiently on the aluminum Macbook 2GHz Intel Core 2 Duo? I have 2GB of stock RAM, what kind of RAM would you suggest using to upgrade it to 4 GB?
I recently just got a new MacBook Pro and I had my Sims 3 game from when it first came out. However, the game isn't being recognized by the computer. The case shows that the game is compatible with Windows and Mac. I heard if you install to Windows you can't install to Mac right?
I just got sims 3. Running on the 13 inch mbp fairly well. A little too much stuttering for me though. My question is, to anyone who has this game, have you found the write settings where the game runs 100% smooth? I'll sacrifice graphics for smoothness. Wanted to know what the general consensus is for to game to get running really smooth. Didnt want to just bring all my sliders down to a minimum without knowing what I am doing. It seems as if when I play sims 3, the fan is on high rev, throughout the whole time.
I am running 10.6.8 Snow Leopard, and I just ordered The Sims: Complete Collection for Mac, and I know it's an extremely old game so I'm just nervous it won't run. I know Lion will not play it, so I'm not going to update to it, but will Snow Leopard?
My Macbook Pro that I bought in Sept 09 keeps rejecting the sims 3 disk. It doesn't do this with any other disk. I had once installed and played the sims 3 just fine on my laptop but I can't even get the cd to load anymore so can't install it.
i just bought the game Spore and i am having troubles with it. 1st after i download the cd an update pops up for the game back to back to back to etc. and its the same update. Then when i run the game everything works fine (the begining cut scenes) but when the game is about to start it cuts off and an error popup comes up.
I have the new MBP. I'm running OS 10.5.6 2.53 ghz intro core 2 duo 4 gigs of ram. I have enough to run it. I had issues installing it. It told me I needed 1 mb to run it. so I drug the folder into the mac HD. When the base game works perfectly. I have all the expansion games. Which works on my IMac running the same thing & my old MBP. When I install the first expansion pack & launch it the error reads. The application the sims 2 quit unexpectedly & it says the same thing when I want to relaunch.
I have managed to use crossover to install my PC version of the Sims 2, but I am unable to play the game. When I start the game it asks that I insert the disk, which is already been inserted. How to sort this? or maybe make it available to run without the disk?
I tried installing Sims 3 on my MBP but for some reason it stops at 569 out of 600 files so I force quitted and tried again and got the same results and force quitted subsequently too. I did that about 4 times. Sims 3 would put about 6 GB on your HD and I found out afterwards I had about 24 GB missing after that attempted installs. How can I remove that 24 GB?
I have Sims Medieval on DVD disc. Yesterday, when I inserted it into my Mac, it said the disc was blank. I have played the game on my Mac before, though I do not think I have tried to play it since I upgraded to Mavericks in March this year. I last had Snow Leopard, and it worked fine.Â
I did put the disc into a Windows machine today and it recognised that it was a Sims game (dual OS disc) and showed me the files.Â
I have never run into this type of problem before, and I don't own any other software on disc that runs on only Mac or both Mac and Windows so I can see if it is just this program.Â
I have found one thread on a website where people have had the same problem, but no one has a solution and they're all moaning about EA not fixing it, when the game came out in 2011 and so I think the problem is with Mavericks, not EA.
Info: MacBook Pro (13-inch Mid 2010), OS X Mavericks (10.9.4)
I am thinking about purchasing the new Macbook Pro w/ Retina Display. I would like to know if "Sims 3" and its' expansions packs are playable on this mac with the assistance of an Apple USB Super-drive.
I'm not really a heavy gamer or anything, but I'm planning a few long flights in the coming weeks and considering getting some 'entertainment' in advance for use on the flight. As I've seen mixed reviews of games on the Air so far, I'm wondering if anyone can post games that they've used on the Air that perform reasonably well and are worth getting.
I have a whitebook, 64 mg intel gma950 chipset, and 2gb ram. XP is running on bootcamp and I was wondering if I could play the game "DJ Max Trilogy" before I bought it. According to the specs you need at least a Geofre 5700 which I think is 128 mb. Anyways, I've bought a few other games off of play-asia that had those same specs, but ran perfectly on my macbook. Can anyone confirm if this game will also work?
I just downloaded "angry birds" from the iTunes store. It says it was successfully downloaded and that I can use it on the two mac products I have. I can see an icon for it in the finder on the mac, but I can't figure out how to play the game.
I have a macbook air 2011.I haven't really used it as much as my dell.I just down loaded disney princess enchanted journey app for my daughter.I can figure out how to exit the game when she is finished playing.
I'm a long-time Mac owner (this is my 4th) but new to Mac forums. I'm making the transition from playing action type games on a console system to playing games on my Mac (Madden, Call of Duty, etc). It sucks playing them without some kind of controller and I am looking hard at what's out there.
I have a MacBook Pro, 17", 2.66GHz Intel Core i7 processor, and 8 GB 1067MHz DDR3 memory.
So what are the best controllers that are currently available? Or would I be better served to wait a couple of months for something due out any time? I don't want to wait forever and I know that there will always be something better coming out, but if there is something revolutionary coming soon, I'd wait.
I just got my new air and absolutely love it. I had seen pretty impressive graphics performance. What I didn't expect was the fan noise. I knew it was loud, but this thing sounds like the old G5's! It makes me kind of scared to play games to be honest. Are they going to substantially decrease the life of my machine? Do you think a laptop cooler would really help with this?
i soo wanna play this game [URL:...] but i need windows i don't want to to occupied like 15 gb just for windows is there any other way like emulators i already tried crossover
I just bought my computer 3 weeks ago. I installed windows in bootcamp and a few games on it.
When I play a game on it.within about 15mins.. my macbook pro (2.8GHz model) gets extremely hot. It's about 65 deg C (145 F).. I can hardly touch it just above the keyboard region. I'm guessing this is where the processor is.. The fans also kick in at full speed.
I do understand that the computer will get hot under heavy load.I'm just wondering if it is normal for the computer to get SO hot? Will it damage my computer in the long run? Should I go get it checked out at the apple store?
bought the i5 500gb mbp, but I wonder whether it is any good for gaming since the 330m seems a little weak. Does anybody have any gaming experience (game performance) with it or can point me to a review somewhere?
I just purchased a 15 inch MacBook Pro. Here are the specs: 2.53GHz, Intel Core i5, 4GB Memory, 500 GB hard drive, Intel HD Graphics, NVIDIA GeForce GT 330M with 256 MB. What are some good RTS Games that would run smooth on that system?
I just bought the kids Disney Universe PC game and didn't know it would only play on a Windows System, is there any way I can get this to play on the MacBook Pro?
I'm trying to load a game but I get this window that says "Can't open application installer Because PowerPC applications are no longer supported" what do I do?
