Final Cut Pro X :: Organizing Projects / Files In Browser?
Dec 11, 2014I'm trying to figure out if there is any way I can do 'organizing' in the Browser. It would be great to be able to create folders I could drop the 'projects' or the 'files' into. I do have my 'Library' well organized, with Keyword collections and folders.Â
But.... I'm working on a large project. Every time I add a new video or audio file to a Library (each Library has only one Event - so I can keep my Libraries relatively small) it seems I have to go digging through all the previous files to find the newly imported one.Â

I recently heard that if we covert to MXT files with 8 channel audio and "drop frame"?, in the future we can safely send the files electronically, via the web.Â
So, how to get my edited shows into the format mentioned above?Â

Nov 28, 2010My university wants us all to use RTF files. As I am sure you all know text edit sucks.But it automatically opens all my RTFs.I have to manually get word to open them which is a pain in the ass.How can I fix this so that all RTF's are automatically opened by WORD?I am still on the old version of word because I have to use ENDNOTE - which has no support for Word 2011 right now. I have a copy of 2011 sitting on my desk and I am itching to use it, but I will loose 200+ citations if I do.

The problem I have is with my memory stick Kingston DT Locker which I also use on Windows XP and Windows 7 - I cannot open or save Excel (xls and xlsx) and Word files (doc and docx) from/to the drive Â
I can copy files to the Mac, update them and then copy back to the drive Â
I can open pdf and jpeg files  It is formatted to FAT32Â

MacBook :: Burning Projects To TS - VIDEO Folders On Desktop / Via Toast?
Jan 13, 2011This is my first post, so please be gentle! I have a 2006/7 White Macbook Core2Duo 2.10Ghz, and I love compiling my own movie compilations via iDVD. The problem that I have is two fold; 1. I burnt 4 episodes of a Public Domain TV Show (3 Stooges) using one of the current menus, and it compiled lovely, burn to disc and verified, but then no sound from the episodes, even though on my master PC, the sound is there, and sound is also present when I copied to my Macbook. 2. I have tried another few discs, each time iDVD states that the disc could not be verified and that the disc is unreadable. Both have been burnt at 6x (my combo/super drives max). Do I possibly need a new drive? Is it worth me burning the project to TS_VIDEO folders on my desktop then burning them via Toast? Any advice would be greatly appreciated, as I'm wanting to delve deeper into iDVD and iMovie as I think they are spot on programs.

May 31, 2010I've had a look on these forums and had a look on the web but I'm still confused by what I need to get to meet my external storage needs. Any help and advice would be greatly appreciated. Background I'm going back to university next year to study animation so I've just ordered a Macbook Pro and I will be selling my '08 Mac Pro fairly soon to pay for it. I'm doing this because I need to be able to work from where ever. I know if I need to do any massive renders University has equipment I can use. What I am looking for Animation obviously takes up a lot of Hard Disk space so I need someway of storing, accessing and backing up all of my work that wont fit on my laptop. This is a basic summary of what I need it to do.
- Store old projects (that can be 100's of Gb)
- Easily backup MBP harddrive (500Gb) & old projects on other drives.
- Work directly on it on large animation projects.
- Be expandable in the future.
- Fairly easy to set up and use.
- Cheap is good but I'm happy to pay more if the benefits are obvious.
- Any extra bonuses are good (like working wirelessly, etc) but only if it's not loads extra.
I don't know if all these things are possible but be very grateful for any help regardless.

Feb 1, 2012I run Microsoft Office on my MacBook Pro. I routinely "print" Word documents to .pdf files. My conversions to .pdf are now resulting in two .pdf documents rather than one multipage document. For example, a two page Word document about puppies would be converted Puppies and Puppies.2 rather than just one 2-page .pdf file. A 14-page file just also saved as two separate .pdf files; the first was only one page, and the second contained the other 13 pages. This is a new problem as of tonight; I've never previously had any difficulty. It's quite frustrating, and I can't seem to determine the cause.

It seemed as though the problem started when I tried to open (by mistake) an excel doc in Word - or vice versa. Now, Word will not let me open a file from the directory. When I click "File" and "Open", the screen freezes and eventually pulls up a white screen with lines on it - looks like a writing tablet, which is the edition's logo - and it says "Open" on top.
