Aug 24, 2009I have a Mac OS X version 10.5.7 i am working on Word 2008 for Mac, version 12.0.1 (080305).
My problem, i created one text box in a document, somehow 2 more appeared. I made the mistake of thinking that to delete the extra text boxes, i simply highlight them and delete them. Silly stupid me, nothing that simple exists and i have wasted an hour trying to figure it out. The help button does squat, barely gives you any info on a text box much less trying to delete it. Does anyone know how to delete a text box in a word document?

Mar 13, 2012I'm using MacBook Pro 10.5.8. I'm having trouble with microsoft 2004. When I select text from a portion of the document (like a paragraph) to change its property (like make it bold, or shift a block of text over by a tab), the whole document (everythiing else that i did not select) moves. This can happen to 200 pages! It's driving me nuts. It's also doing it to new documents. I have thrown away my preferences file: preferences/com.microsof.Word.plist; and restarted my computer but it keeps happening. I'm trying to finish a huge writing project with deadlines at the end of the week and it's making it really difficult to work.

I am able to start a new document but if I try to save it all of the action/editing buttons fade/unhighlight (save, print, quit, copy paste, etc) and I am ubable to do anything. Apr 16, 2012I'm trying to download The Social Network, but every time it gets to 10mb downloaded, it goes down to zero KB, and starts over and will loop once or twice until finally saying the file is corrupt and giving me an error 8008. I deleted the tmp file on my MacBook Pro, and that didn't solve it. I also tried on my Windows PC on an entirely different network and it did the exact same thing. Is this a server problem on the host's part?

Dec 4, 2007I have a single processor G5 1.8 running current version of Tiger 10.4.11. I take pictures on my Canon 1D ll and also on a Canon power shot pro 1. When I tried to copy files from my compact flash card to my G5, it corrupted most of the files. When I pull them up, half of the image is distorted or discolored. I am using a cheap non-powered USB 2.0 card reader attached to the high speed USB ports. I have tried all of the ports. My other devices, Keyboard, printer, scanner (all self powered) work fine on the USB ports. I can do the same hookup on my G4 Ibook and it works fine with no problems. I also tried importing directly from the camera into I-photo and had the same problem on the G5.

May 30, 2006I'm not a computer whiz (that's why I use mac ) here's my problem I need to convert an e-book that's in pdf format to word and I don't have adobe just preview since this book is 300+ pages I really don't want to do it one page at a time and there's also images, charts, tables, etc. in the book. Any ideas? am I screwed? or will I have to have adobe or something else?
