MacBook Pro :: While Creating New Email Various Portion Of Mail Will Appear In Trash Box
Jun 6, 2014
After creating a new email and send successfully, breakdown of the full content in the mail will appear in the trash box without my intention. The breakdown were in separate uncompleted mail/mails depending on the length of the email. Everytime after a simple email of about 3-5 sentences comprising of less then 30 words, 5 - 10 separate trash box mail appeared. it worst when duration is longer while creating the email.

I set up a new email acct with my new isp. I cancelled service with my old isp, then started Mail. I was prompted for a password for the acct that I no longer have, so I opened preferences and deleted the old acct, now all my old email is gone. Can I get it back somehow?

When I connect my MP3 player (not an iPod ) to the Mac and delete some files, Mac OS X creates a folder .Trashes in the volume root and just moves all the files I intended to delete there. The only reason to delete files is of course freeing some space... and to free it I have to empty the system trash (which is not good). Is there any way to tell Mac OS X that it should not create a .Trashes folder there and remove the files permanently or at least move them to the trash on the local disk?

when I delete an email in Mac Mail - it doesn't go into Trash.
Any way for me to change a setting so that, even when I delete an email from my Inbox, it goes into Trash?

I'm trying to create an event in iCal and invite attendees but I get an alert saying I need to create my email in OSX Address Book. I'm already in there and I've even recreated myself - still no luck. There must be a link somewhere in preferences of otherwise of iCAL to link my email to it - but can't find it.

this is kind of an annoyance and I can't seem to find any answers online. My left column on Mail usually has 3 folders (inbox, sent, trash). That's how I like it. Every once in a while though, it creates a new folder under my email address. Why does this happen, and can I stop it? In case it helps, I only have 1 email address and it's a .me account. Also, I do send emails from my Mac, iPhone and occasionally [URL] from a work PC. I don't know if that's relevant, I just wanted to get as many facts out there as I can.

When I open Mail it syncs all the messages like it should and then I go thrrough and delete all the junk emails and inbox emails that arent important. They go to the Trash folder and when I click "erase them permanently" they disappear, but then the Trash folder starts filling up with more emails and adds up to 400 every 10 seconds until around 2000. No matter how many times I select them all and click delete it just fills up again.

I have a Macbook with 320GB HD, which I previously stopped using and passed over to my wife. When doing that, I created a new user for her and deleted my old user and the associated folders and files. This was a few months ago. Lately I noticed my wife's HD is too full than I would expect, so I started trying to clean it up using all the recommended SW. No matter what I did (reveal hidden / system files, use designated applications etc.), I could only find ±100GB worth of files. So, the Disk Utility shows the HD has one partition of 319GB, out of which 292GB are is use. When I search for files, I only get ±100GB (indcluding everything). Â
I did "Verify Disk", "Repair Disk", "Repair Permissions", emptied caches, trash -- still no sign of the missing ±190GB. The same when I ran the disk utility prior to logging in (using CMD+R during restart). Â
I have a feeling this is somehow related to the deletion of my old user/profile. Can it be that this portion of the HD is not accecible to my wife's user/profile? And so these files cannot be accessed?

All the other mail products (Outlook, etc) allow easy creation of mail signatures as HTML's by a simple click of a link icon.I cannot find any mention of html signatures in mac mail except for those who know how to write code.If so, whatever happened to Apple being the user friendly platform as opposed to PC's?

it is possible to create a rule that will override another rule?Â
Basically, I have a rule set up so that the background goes green if the email was sent to a certain email address.Â
I'd like to create another rule (or edit the existing rule) so that the background will change to a different colour if the email was sent from a specific person (email address).Â

I've searched everywhere, and i can't find a thread or video about removing the whole top portion of the mbp off. all i have found was how to replace the screen, but not the actual top with the hinge etc. when i close my mbp, the top part isn't aligned properly. the right corner of the bottom half of the unibody shows, while the left corner has a portion of the top portion overlaying the botom portion. hopefully that makes sense. is it hard to remove the whole top? how do u do it? is it worth risking my warranty?

I've used Apple Mail for years but struggled so long with the folder structure. I would love for my multiple "Mailboxes" (folders) to go under the Inbox like such: The reason being when I create new mailboxes they go to a completely separate heading under that e-mail address. So when my searches in Apple Mail are not comprehensive, as it'll often search the Inbox without searching the other Mailboxes. This is such a simple feature yet my web searches have proved fruitless. I've also contacted my ISP Host Gator but recommend that I ask Apple or search the internet.

I want to set up my Gmail IMAP account in Mail.app so that when I hit the delete key in Mail.app, the message gets archived permanently (in the All Mail folder). What's the best way to do this? Should I select the "All Mail" folder and then choose "Use this Mailbox for Trash"?

I have gmail set up on my mac & iphone as IMAP. Works great, except for a weird deal whenever I send mail. After the email has been sent, if I go to trash, I'll find multiple copies of the sent email sitting there. I.E.- today I sent a single email(not a reply), and there were 16, yes 16 copies of that sent email in my trash. There was only one copy in the sent mail folder. It's a pain deleting all this stuff.
