MacBook Pro :: When Go To YouTube It Does Not Show The Video
Jun 6, 2012
I am using Chrome as my internet browser and when I go to YouTube it does not show the video. I can hear the audio but the box where the video should be is just a blank screen of grey.
I would like to create a slide show video in iMovie to upload to youtube using a piece of music (non copyright natch, *cough*). As I only have a few images to use I'd like to be able to just simply repeat the images until the track stops.Being not terribly Mac/technically minded I'm having problems. The silde show should work around the complete piece of music but I can't seem to do it.
Yesterday I bought my first Mac (13 inch mid 2014 retina macbook pro). But now I have a question. When I want to watch a video on youtube, the highest quality I can choose is 720p. And I know these videos can be viewed in higher qualities (1080p or higher). Even on my girlfriends macbook pro (13 inch non retina) I can view these videos in 1080p. I took a print screen to show you what I mean.Â
Info: MacBook Pro with Retina display, OS X Mavericks (10.9.4)
i have safari 5.1.2 when i expand the 'show more' section below a video to view the extra information, the info will not show the box expands but it's blank. the only way to view the info is highlight and drag downward the text you can see at the very top of the box
Well I got rid of the quicksilvers since they died. Power supplys gave out and took the motherboards, So I sold what was left on EBAY.
My G4 Ethernet was sold to a co-worked and he is quite happy.
And I got this off ebay today:
Dual 1.8GHz PowerPC G5Procs 2GB RAM (2 x 1GB PC3200U DDR SDRAM) Pioneer DVD-RW DVR-117D Samsung HD160JJ/P 160GB SATA HDD (not apple labeled, not original to this system) (1) Power Cord pci106b,9 PCI Ethernet Controller
Well I didnt' read the fine print and BAZINGA! I noticed that it comes without a video card.
So For video editing, watching hulu and youtube and netflix What do you guys recommend.
I do have a PCI GEforce at home with 512 megs for PC and I was wondering if I could flash it and if so, does anyone know of a good walkthrough?
It must be some ad blocker or something, but I can't view videos. I can't seem to find what's causing it. I can go to YouTube and watch a video, but when someone posts a link, I am unable to make it play. I'll get a site with a black rectangle where the video is supposed to be. Happens on links from tweets too. Safari and Firefox both. I tried the Flash uninstall/reinstall/disc permission/restart routine twice.
How come when I play online games like world of warcraft on my mac air the videos look just plain awesome but when I try to see a youtube video it looks soo bad its depressing??
I've a macbook pro since 3 days but I can't read video on YouTube. The following message appears to the screen "your browser reknows at present none of the sizes available video." I try to install firefox but it's not good.
When i go to Youtube.com and type in a song in the adress bar .I click the video and the page loads. Then i wait and nothing happens the area that the image of the video is suppose to be streaming or playing isn't. It just stays all Black.
After nph brought up his concerns about HD content on the Airs I went to the Apple Store to check it out for myself. I tried watching HD youtube videos on the highest end Air (rev B 1.8 ghz / 128 ssd) and on the lowest end Macbook and Pro. I let the videos fully load before watching them to eliminate variances in network lag. Please do the same if you wish to verify the results.
The MBA stuttered every few seconds throughout the video. The MB and MBP unibody machines were able to play the video without stutter. CPU use on the MBA fluctuated between about 130 - 170% while it was about 130 - 140% on the MB and MBP according to activity monitor. What are your results with rev A and rev B MBA machines on the following short HD video? Does it stutter for you or are you able to watch the full video without any stutter? What changes have you made compared to the stock install from the store? [URL]
All I have open is firefox with one or two tab and the CPU gets into the high 70 Celsius before the fan kicks in. Is it normal for the CPU to get that hot? Or is it even safe? It says I am using up to 70% of CPU at times!!!Is HD flash that taxing?
my MacBook runs like ****. It's constantly hot (CPU is always above 70*C), it can't get through one youtube video with out stuttering and overheating, it can't run my external sound card (Audio 4 DJ) in conjunction with anything else, and it can't play AVI files without freezing and bugging out. It's a 2nd gen Black MacBook with 2ghz processors, 2 gb of ram, and an upgraded WD 320 GB HD. Is this thing about to take a dump on me? Is the motherboard on its way out? Is there any chance of fixing this thing? It seems the only thing my computer is good for theses days is doing light browsing on the internet. (read light browsing = no flash and no html5.)
was wondering if when your watching a youtube video or anything that makes the nvidia 330m kick in do you experience a lag when hitting the full screen button? I have the graphics switcher/indicator program installed and whenever I go to full screen it goes from intel to nvidia and there is a good 1-2 second delay from clicking the button to going to full screen. If I force 330m to be on at all times the lag goes away. This seem normal? You would think Apple would have ironed out this kink. It makes my computer go from feeling snappy to slow when my netbook can full screen faster.
Recently I've noticed that my macbook pro is having a very hard time on youtube. The video player goes black but the audio continues. It freezes my computer. The video will sometimes play if I stop and reload the page multiple times in succession. I have a mid 2009 macbook pro running OSX lion 10.7.3
How to setup the Safari (browser) to able play all the video on youtube? On Screen: Your browser does not currently recognize any of the video formats available.
I'm using a macbook pro with Lion. I used youtube to listen to songs and watch videos till about a week ago. But now The site opens, but when I click on a video to play, they say that 'An error has occurred'. How can I make it work again?
My White MacBook 4,1 (summer 2008) has recently started to have big problems when I watch on-line video from within a browser. What happens is:
-Launch browser (same behaviour with Firefox, Safari, Opera) -Watch video -Video behaviour gets jumpy -Spinning pizza wheel arrives -Browser crashes
I have tried a reinstalling Snow Leopard, disabling the browser add-ons, running the browsers in safe mode and I get the same pattern of results. I guess it is a hardware fault but I do not know how to identify the fault. System Profiler tells me my RAM status is "OK" and there are no obvious faults anywhere else in system profiler.
Why i cant watch youtube as youtube inform this "This video is unavailable with safety Mode enabled. To view this video, to need to disable safety mode" how can i turn off safety mode

DOesn't happen all the time but yahoo will often come in all out of alignment like a web page I would make. Tried cleaning caches, restart, etc. still not working
in October 2008 I bought my MacBook Pro Unibody (Details in my signature).
Since about 3-4 month is gets REALLY hot really fast, also the fan is very noisy now. Now I can have my MacBook turned off for the whole day, then turn it on, watch a YouTube video and the fan is going nuts and it gets really hot.
I made sure that the MacBook is on a flat surface, like a desk, but it still gets very hot. I can't even have the laptop on my lap anymore or else I would get burned through my jeans. Another problem is, that the fan is so loud, when I use my internal microphone with skype, people say they can't hear me cause of the noise!
When I touch the surface of the laptop around the ESC keep, I think I could actually cook an egg!
Here's a screen shot of the tempratures after booting up and watching YouTube for about 2 minutes.
The temprature goes above 80 Degress as well, depending if its on my lap or the desk. And yes I made sure that the back of the laptop is not covered.
I could watch video on youtube a few days ago, and now I can't. I've uninstalled and reinstalled Flashplayer and still no video!I have the latest updates.
