View 1 RepliesI recently bought an M-Audio Fast Track Ultra 8r to use with Logic 9 on my MacBook Pro, but unfortunately it is not compatible with OS X 10.7.4 , and the latest version that it works for is OS X 10.7.3.
I really need this audio interface to work as if I can't get it to work then all the money that I have spent on recording equipment is wasted. Is there any way of me reverting my MacBook Pro back to the 10.7.3 version? And if so, is it going to cause compatibility issues with any of my other software? (I have a horrible feeling that it might)
Basically the title says pretty much everything. just want a way in which i can undo commands i did on terminal. and if restarted the macbook does the job?

I'm working via Safari on an online jigsaw puzzle at http://six.flash-gear.com/npuz/puz.php?c=v&id=3274406&k=25952437. The computer zoomed in on the puzzle...a Mac-based zoom-in menu appeared and accidentally flashed on "zoom in"...and now I cannot undo the zoom. All normal methods fail, and part of the puzzle is off-screen. I don't know how to see the rest of the puzzle now. I thought perhaps deselecting "show all" would help, but it won't let me deselect either.

I was frustrated with Google Chrome quiting whenever I accidently pressed command q, so I tried out some terminal commands I found online. One was defaults write NSGlobalDomain NSUserKeyEquivalents '{"Quit Google Chrome" = "@Q"; "Preferences..." = "@;";}' I don't know what the other was. They stopped chrome from quiting with command q, but now I can't quit chrome AT ALL. Is there a way to undo everything I've ever done in terminal? I should not be touching it...
View 5 Replies View RelatedI recently partitioned my harddrive for windows xp to be installed with bootcamp but now I would rather run VMware fusion. I haven't yet backed up my hard drive. Is there anyway to return to previous settings without losing it all? I have a lot of stuff on my computer is why I ask. Also, if I made a backup of my computer now, will that not work because I am doing so with a partitioned drive?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI recently purchased a new iMac. I wanted to use migration assistant to transfer everything from my old Powerbook; but it seemed to not work. So I started transferring my media off of an external harddrive. I transferred all my video from my external and deleted it to start transferring media from the laptop. I rebooted the computer for software updates. Which is when migration assistant worked copying over all my newly deleted video. I'd abandoned all hope of getting any of that back until I looked at my free harddrive space. My brand new 500gb drive is down to 170 gb free. Theres no way I'm using that much space unless the media is still here somewhere right?

I'd like to be able to undo any deletion, or at least know why I can in some cases and not in others. We're using a free google business account using our own domain name, using Mail to retrieve messages. This is the ONLY account I have on this computer. In the inbox, I can delete one email, and under Edit it says "Undo Delete Message" and then I go on to delete the next message, and under the Edit menu it says just "Undo" and that's grayed out. Command Z doesn't work either.
The "un-undoable" deleted messages are in the trash associated (properly) with the account, but even if I immediately go to the edit menu, the Undo is still grayed out. This is pretty annoying and definitely puzzling

View 2 Replies View Relatedis it possible to undo a Time Machine restore on a new setup and start again? I had an iMac that I backed up to Time Machine and then bought a new iMac (May 2012). When setting up the new iMac I chose to install a copy of my old iMac from Time Machine. The new iMac is now a perfect copy of the old one..... only I really just wanted a totally fresh start. Can I undo this process so that I can set up the new iMac as if it is just a new computer and can this be done without damaging the backup of the old iMac that I have on my Time Capsule? Lastly, can I subsequently just take the photos that are part of the old iMac backup on the Time Capsule and save those to my new iMac.

I was ripping in a cd which itunes identified with multiple titles & Artists, so I had to choose one. I accidentally chose the wrong one and now I can't figure out how to undo it. I've ejected and rebooted itunes, but it still identifies that cd with the wrong title&Artist that I picked. How to undo my mistake so I can rip in my cd for who it really is?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI am using the polygonal lasso tool to cut out something. I know that the button "delete" undoes the last line/selection however if the selection is completed/closed by mistake there seem to be no option to go back. I read the thread about how to pivot your screen over in another section but it didn't address what to do when it goes wrong. And it did...very wrong. I'm running a Powerbook G4 Titanium 15" laptop with Tiger OsX 10.4.11 and I hooked an external monitor to it. I was playing around with the settings and saw the rotation feature, which wasn't available until I attached the external monitor. As soon as I clicked on 90 degrees, both the main screen and the external fritzed out. I could vaguely see things through the haze on the main screen but the whole thing had stopped responding to all mouse and keypad commands. Eventually the only thing I could do to regain control was a hard shut off with the power button and unplug the external. After that the main screen booted up just fine but the moment I hook up the external again they go blue screen of death on me and I can't see what I'm doing to undo what I did!! I tried hitting the manual reset on the screen itself, which I didn't really think would work but hey, desperate times...
After some research on the internet I found out that, contrary to what the other thread says, not all Tiger enabled computers can run the rotation function, apparently because the scan rate, or something like that is too low. Which is why the option was disabled when only the main screen was running. Nice to know and would have been good to know sooner but what I need help with now is HOW DO I FIX THIS MESS?!!!! Some sites mentioned archiving (I'm moderately computer savvy but I'm not totally sure I know how to do that) and some have mentioned the boot disk, which I have but I want to make sure I know what will happen if I do that. I've backed up my files just in case. Will it erase the programs I've installed or just my settings? Or is it much simpler and is there something in the utilities I can mess with that will reset stuff?
I am running Lion on a fairly new iMac 21.5 (bought it last September). Apparently I have changed the Empty Trash method to Secure Erase. I really do not need this nor do I want it as it takes forever to empty the trash. How can I get back to the old method of just emptying the trash?
