I've downloaded an SAP program for uni, and while following the instructions, i have saved the application to the hard-rive. Now though, i need to replace a file in the SAP folder but i cannot find it. There is also no library tab on my user toolbar, which is where i am supposed to be looking for the folder.Â

I want to change the default finder toolbar icons (back, forward, path and view icons, search, etc), does anyone know the path location for these? I want to make my own icons in photoshop and manually change them, the same way you'd do with the log on screen or icon I know about the customize toolbar option, but that doesn't allow you to change the icons, just to arrange them.

View 1 Replies View RelatedWhen opening a finder window there are now several unwanted icons on the toolbar, 2 are for games and one for a certain website. Don't know how they got there and customizing the toolbar does nothing to remove them or show how they got there either.

In App Store Version 1.3, running under OS X 10.9.4, the past couple of days the toolbar icons across the top of the main window --
Featured, Top Charts, Categories, Purchases, Updates -- are all grayed out. So when I try to click on any one of them, nothing happens.Â
I can select the corresponding pane by using the App Store's Store menu, and then the grayed-out icon for it shows a very light blue.Â
Non-functioing of the toolbar icons is an annoyance.Â
But why aren't the toolbar icons working and how do I get them back?

I am using Microsoft Office for Mac 2008, which has been performing fine for many months. Now all of a sudden the icons are missing on my toolbars. All that it shows in the toolbar window, (both standard and format toolbars), is the text without the icons, with just a blank dark area where the tool icons should be, leaving the toolbar impossible to use in any practical way. No amount of selecting or de-selecting the toolbars via drop down window "view", or changing the option for "text and icons", or "resetting the toolbars in customise will change this situation. The problem has occurred in all of "word", "excel", "PowerPoint" and Entourage. I have tried reinstalling office from the original CD, but the problem persists. I have even quarantined the normal.dotm file before reinstalling office, but it simply created a new "normal" file with the same result. No icons on the toolbars. I am using OS X leopard. I haven't yet resorted to reinstalling leopard, but what else is there?!? Any clues to what has caused this to suddenly occur?

My Safari windows look grey and bleak, just like the weather. I've double checked my security preferences and allowed third party plug-in access etc, is it that extensions just don't install as coloured icons in Safari? My friend's web browser allows colour and it makes icons easier to find in the Toolbar.

The time and date, wifi and other icons are missing from the toolbar. Other icons are missing from the finder window and the dismiss and minimize icons are missing from all windows. I have tried to delete the com.apple.systemuiserver.plist file and also tried to reboot in safe mode to no avail. When I do reboot, the some, but not all, of the top bar icons appear then disappear. It must be a plist file but I haven't a clue as to which one...
View 5 Replies View RelatedI purchased a used Macbook Pro from ebay. Appeared to be in good working order when I first started working with it, but I have updated from OS X 10.9.2 to 10.9.5 and downloaded Open Office program, set up my mail and went through the system preferences and personalized it. Also ran disk utilities. Then, this AM, when I restarted, the header icons on the right side are grayed out except for the battery %, the date and time and notifications. Also, in mail and safari, the toolbar buttons are blank (forward, back, print, mail, bookmarks, autofil, history and downloads). I went to the disk utility from the recovery partition (repaired disk and disk permissions). I also reset parameters. Don't know what to do next. Not sure if this is a hardware or software problem, but I am assuming it is software (OS X) related at this point.Â

View 1 Replies View RelatedOne of the side benefits of getting my new iMac is that I get to see how a system looks when it's brand new, before I've messed with it.
When I set up Time Machine on my iMac I notice that the HD icon used looks pretty cool with a circular arrow on top. I didn't download it from some web site, it came that way. Over on my MacBook Pro the Time Machine HD icon is just white. I have no idea how it got that way.
My question is how do I get my MacBook Pro's Time Machine HD icon to look like the one on my iMac? Is there some hidden cache of icons on my system?
Where are all the default system icons? like the applications "a" (not the folder with the a). if you plug in an ipod it automatically gets the right icon (shuffle has shuffle icon, etc.) are those on the ipod or system? where to find those icons? i know how to change them, but can't find the defaults...

I hate my desktop being cluttered with icons so I decided to erase the icon on my desktop. Now I can't find my hard drive no matter what I do. Finder: it's not there. Disk utility: it's not there. It is plugged into the wall and thus a blue light emitting from the front and it is clearly plugged into the USB on the back of my Mac mini. I just can't find it anymore no matter what I do.

I really need this audio interface to work as if I can't get it to work then all the money that I have spent on recording equipment is wasted.
