After 5.1.7 Update today, Safari loads facebook with broken compoents. I can't see my messages and many buttons don't load on facebook. Is there a way to install a clean copy of Safari?

I just imported some new photos into iPhoto but when I try to copy them to a flashdrive it comes up with message The operation cant be completed because it isnt supported.Any other album pictures can be copied.for the life of me I can't work out what is different.

I have a eGo ITB 800 Firewire drive which has been running fine with Time Machine on my Leopard OSX 10.5 IMac. I just got a new IMac running Lion OSX 10.7.3 and want to migrate my files to the new machine. The new Lion IMac will not mount the drive. I updated the system software today, so it has the latest patches.
1. It appears under Devices in the Finder but Migration Assistant does not "see" it at all. Time Machine DOES recognize it as an Iomega HDD, though I have Time Machine turned off because I don't want to make a back up of the new machine until I transfer the files from the old one.
2. When I connect with Firewire 800, System Information will see a drive there, but it says "unknown device".
3, When I connect with USB, System Information will see the Iomega HDD there and report on it's specs. Â
4. I power cycled the drive to see if that would help and I got the warning that I should unmount drives first.Â
5. In the finder, I can see my old files on the Iomega.Â
6. I can't find any information on this one the Iomega web site, and they say that no software upgrades or drivers are necessary.
All of this implies to me that the disk is ok and the connections are ok. Does anyone know how can I get this drive mounted and working so I can transfer my files?

Everytime I start up Safari it will open up all windows that were open during my last session when I had quit the application. It will also not open to the homepage listed in preferences as well when I start Safari.Â

View 3 Replies View RelatedFirst Facebook stopped loading on my computer. Now Yahoo will not load. All other sites seem to load with no issues. I have tried all of the recommended items that I could find including but not limited to Empty Cache, Reset Safari, Cleaning cookies, Adding or changing DNS, clearing history.plist and everything else I could find in the communities. It seems that the pages I visit the most are the ones with issues. I should note that I have had some instances of Safari closing unexpectedly and times where I have had to use force quit.

I have an iMac (Intel mid 2011) 21.5", Facebook used to work OK. After updating Safari to Ver. 5.1.7. (6534.57.2), Facebook is not displaying correctly, I get a white unformated screen and a partial display of the information shows on the left side of screen (10%). I'm using OSX Ver. 10.6.8.. Safari 5.0.6 won't load Facebook onto my Mac G5. It will load all other sites and if I log onto Facebook from another computer it works fine. Facebook has worked fine until about 5 days ago.

My iphoto is not working. When I open it, the picture loading swirl thing spins and never stops! Like it wants to load the events but it never does. I have uninstalled and reinstalled it twice and no luck! I Just got this computer a month ago. I have also tried the command+option to fix any problems.

The trouble is that while some pages load fine, others do not display correctly or simply don't even load at all. The other computers on this network (all PCs) run fine, so I am guessing that it has something to do with settings on my computer, the router, or both. Unfortunately, though, I have no idea what to try.
View 4 Replies View RelatedYesterday facebook just stopped working. I was on my timeline on my profile and it froze my internet and I managed to get off facebook. Since then, I have had a diffcult time getting on facebook on my computer (all other websites have worked so far). My profile has loaded on two other computers fine (one of those other computers was a mac). One of those computers uses firefox and the other safari. I have already tried removing my cookies and cache and looked up other suggestions online but none seem to work. When I remove my cookies, sometimes facebook will let me log in and then stop working again. It's not my profile (I never sign out) because other profiles have the same problem. When I removed my cache for the first time it worked nicely for like 30 seconds before it began not doing anything again.

Some photos will get loaded and then half way the Photo is just grey. Sometimes it loads more of one Photo and sometimes less. A couple of weeks ago facebook stopped loading on my mac. I thought it might be a virus or something, so I restored my mac and now use a different web browser (google chrome instead of safari). Facebook still doesn't load unless I delete my history, and even then it just opens the first page and then stops, and now Yahoo doesn't load either. The other computers & the iPad in my house load everything just fine, and when I took my computer to a friend's house, Facebook and Yahoo worked on their internet. View 10 Replies View RelatedSo far, I have noticed that in Safari 5.1.4 Google maps doesn't work correctly. Whenever I enter directions from and to locations, the site just sits there "Loading." It works perfectly fine in Firefox on the same account on (and running while Safari is). Also, a random error is on TrueAchievements.com, everytime I go to update my status, I get a little box that says something went wrong. Again, it works perfectly fine in Firefox running side-by-side. I haven't run across any other problems, but it wouldn't surprise me if I do at some point. I have tried disabling extensions, just in case, but that solved nothing. Is this version of Safari just broken or is there anything I can do?

First, I am fully aware of the two plug-ins that have both of these features. SafariStand and Glims. I'd prefer not to use SafariStand, and I don't want to use Glims (buggy). I'm not here to debate their merits. The features I want are for Safari's download manager to close automatically, and for all links to automatically open in new tabs.
What I'm wondering is: are there any other plug-ins that offer these features for Safari 4 running Snow Leopard? Are there any tweaks to the system that don't involve plug-ins? As in, are there some terminal commands that can emulate these settings somehow?
Anyone know why this comes up when I try to log onto Facebook? It only happens when I use Safari--not on Firefox or Chrome. I have my pop-ups disabled, so this is just odd. Can't figure it out.

In both safari and chrome when I type in my username, to login to facebook or ancestry.com or other sites,the browser suddenly acts as though it's been redirected and then returns me to the login page, The username box delets what I pe after about 4-5keystrokes OR it takes me to another login page and inserts the username and password, but won't do anything beyond that. A different user account on the same computer does not have that problem with logins, and I can login no problem if I am on the computer under that other user account.
the troubleshooter on apple support says to reboot in safe mode and see if it happens, however in safe mode, I cannot connect to my wireless network and the browsers won't open.
