Now I'm having the same issue w/ iMovie but can't get around it this time b/c I have no idea how I did it last time. How can I download iMovie now? I'm brand new to Mac use - under "About this Mac" it says: Mac OS X Version 10.6.8.

I have some video files on an external HD from my old computer with iMovie 08. On my new iMac with iMovie 09, I have opened up one of those video files, or imported it. My question is this: Is there any need to keep the original file from my old computer, or has it now been stored on my new one with iMove 09? I'm thinking if I keep the old one, I am storing it twice. I am backing up my iMac, so that's not an issue. I'm just trying to figure out if I am keeping a "third" copy when it's not really needed.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI downloaded the new Mac OS X client for Amazon's Cloud Drive service. I double-clicked to launch it, then dragged the app icon over to the Applications folder in order to install it.
Now I see an Amazon Cloud Drive icon on my desktop, but clicking it doesn't take me to a signin screen for my Amazon account, as I would expect, but invites me to drag the app icon over to the Applications folder AGAIN. Starting from the Applications folder and trying to launch it from there gives me the same result.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI have a very old purple iMac, circa 2000, with an old version of iMovie. I copied the files onto a USB and tried to open/import them onto my new Intel Core 2 Duo, 3.06 GHz iMac. However my new iMac with iMovie '09 won't recognise the files when I try to import them. They stay greyed, not allowing me to import them.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a MBP and a Time Capsule, but I also am considering an online backup service (in case of theft).
I would look at Mobile Me but I have circa 50GB of photo's and video's to back up and so there is not enough space.
I have had a look at IDrive which gives 150GB for $5 a month however i'm not sure whether it would affect Time Capsule as it also appears to back up files that have changed.
Having Wifi issues ever since the latest upgrade to 7.3.I want to re-install 7.2 She has a MacBook Air SSD Mid 11 production My Grand-daughter never did a backup with Time Machine. She can backup her files now. And the easiest way woudl be to simply do a clean install with 10.7.2

So all my itunes purchases are in the cloud which is great. What about playlists. Doesn't seem there is any way to put those on a cloud? Is the only way to replicate them everywhere by manually plugging in and syncing?

I have a ton of material in the itunes store which I have not downloaded because I decided to save space on my drive, and use the streaming cloud option instead. I have the iTunes preferences setup as: Show iTunes in the cloud purchases
I have the iTunes View setup as: Show movies in the cloud However all my cloud content (links) has disappeared. I can only see what is physically downloaded. The artwork with the little cloud banner is not there anymore.

Google and Microsoft are putting Apps online. If this story is true, looks like Apple is following that route.

I assume iCloud is not a sync service for storing up to 100GB. So what is a recommended subscription service for Mac users? Perhaps one that would integrate with Time Machine?
