I have the macbook running on 10.6.2. And when i went to go play the game fill it, it would not start when i hit space, like it is supossed to. It is not the website because I tried many different ones, and i works fiine on my pc. What can do to make it load?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI've recently upgraded to Snow Leopard and decided to use boot camp to reinstall XP on a secondary partition. The problem I'm having is with getting some programs notably Trillian and Steam to keep their connection. Sometimes they work and sometimes they don't. I am in university halls of residence so I have had to set up some port forwarding to get Steam to connect at all but it's always tantalisingly out of reach.
Steam for example sometimes loads fine but then won't load a game it brings up the 'Game is unavailable' error. Sometimes I can get into team fortress 2 but can't locate any servers, sometimes I can get a server list to populate but cant load the game. Sometimes it doesn't even load Steam at all and fails on the updating step. Trillian has similar problems, sometimes dropping the connection and sometimes running perfectly fine. At first I though this was a firewall issue due to the ports but after I managed to get each step to work at different times, just never together, I began to doubt that.
How can I open a game that I purchased from Game Stop with an Activation Code?

I have a Macbook that I was carrying in my backpack in one of those neoprene cases along with my water bottle (silly, I know...but it hasn't ever spilled prior to now!). I walked around for about 5-10 minutes at which point I noticed the bottom of my backpack was wet. I immediately opened it up and found that there was water on the bottom 2 inches of my case. I pulled my computer out and there was sort of a sheen of water on the front and back 2 inches on the side with all the ports. I then wiped it off. The screen came on when I opened it (it had not been off) but I turned it off and now I have it leaning so that if there is any water in the ports it will drain out.

I just took the 2.5 inch hard drive out of my macbook and I would like to put it into my LACIE D2 external hard drive enclosure. The enclosure originaly held a 3.5 inch drive that went bad so I took it out and now I cannot figure out how to connect the 2.5inch drive I just took out my macbook to the SATA cable for the old 3.5 inch hard drive.

Then when i run the game everything works fine (the begining cut scenes) but when the game is about to start it cuts off and an error popup comes up.
View 24 Replies View RelatedSo I got a great deal on a G4 powermac 733 mhz dig audio a few years back and it has served me well, but i bought it with one known flaw: after you start up, eventually It locks up and you get the screen that says you need to restart your computer. After I restart, I have never had it freeze, so I simply restart everytime and it works great. I have done a clean install of osx but that didn't solve the problem. Wierd a? I'd love to get it fixed if i could.

View 6 Replies View RelatedI have a 2GHz Intel Core 2 Duo mac mini running Mac OS 10.5.7 and would like to download MySQL 5.1. The problem is I need to pick one of two downloads based on my computer:
Option 1: Mac OS X 10.5(x86)
Option 2: Mac OS X 10.5(x86_64)
How do I figure out which one I need for my computer? I've gone to "About This Mac" in the apple menu but there are no 86's or 64's listed and I don't know what these numbers are referring to in particular.

I just got a new MacBook Pro and I can't figure out how to set up backups. There are no obvious buttons to configure backups. I clicked everything possible and all I can do is buy more storage. I tried making sure share settings weren't the problem.
I am a very experience computer user and I'm frustrated I can't figure this out. I'm sure it's something easy I'm missing.

Certain webistes like [URL], take ages to load after i login. I have cleaned my cache , deleted cookies,etc.... In the apple store everything works fine , but not at home. When using other PC's / notebooks it all works fine, except my own Macbook. Other browsers on my Mc , have the same problem.

Is there an event log or something? I leave it on all the time, good airflow around it and it's on a ups. It didn't crash for the first year but now it's almost daily. I use this one for the house itunes server so it's extra frustrating. Any ideas on what to look for? I've made no mods at all, even the RAM was from apple (when I bought it).
View 1 Replies View RelatedI seem to have an AppleScript that is hanging, and I can't figure out how to quit it. I tried the force quit, but it doesn't appear in the list of applications. It was activated when I was compressing a pdf using the print command yesterday. I let it go overnight, but the Applescript icon is still spinning in the uppertoolbar (near my battery indicator etc). If I move my mouse over it I just get a spinning beach ball.Thanks all!

The problem is that I also want a figure list that updates automatically, TOC style. I can't find ant function for a figure list so I tried to give the figure text a different paragraph style then the regular headlines and then simply add a second TOC showing only that style. Unfortunately that did not work either since Pages only seem to allow one TOC per document.

All the apps seem to be running fine but i am getting a lot of aggro with my gmail account on mail and iphone (3.1.2)Before, I had a pop gmail account on mail (I have noticed it's imap as default now), then I bought my iphone and added the same account. Everything was fine: I could read and delete messages on iphone knowing that when I got back home those same mails would appear as new mail on my mac.
Now if i delete a message on my iphone I dont recieve it on my mac... can anybody tell me how can I configure it so it works like it did?

According to the specs you need at least a Geofre 5700 which I think is 128 mb. Anyways, I've bought a few other games off of play-asia that had those same specs, but ran perfectly on my macbook. I'm a long-time Mac owner (this is my 4th) but new to Mac forums. I'm making the transition from playing action type games on a console system to playing games on my Mac (Madden, Call of Duty, etc). It sucks playing them without some kind of controller and I am looking hard at what's out there.
I have a MacBook Pro, 17", 2.66GHz Intel Core i7 processor, and 8 GB 1067MHz DDR3 memory.
So what are the best controllers that are currently available? Or would I be better served to wait a couple of months for something due out any time? I don't want to wait forever and I know that there will always be something better coming out, but if there is something revolutionary coming soon, I'd wait.
