May 13, 2012While trying to fix my disabled USB ports on my MBP, (Installing some sort of USB driver that wasn't made for my specific OS, which is 10.7.4, which came from the apple website.) I rebooted my computer and I notice that once the loggin screen shows up the cursor won't budge. Then I try hitting Enter on my mac and the arrow keys a little. Nothing. Then I try using every key on the keyboard. Absolutely nothing. Tried resetting the PRAM, SMC, AND tried using Safe Boot. Nothing. At this point I wanted to smash my computer or smash something technology related. The only thing that works on my computer now is the little slim of hope that I call Windows 7 which I am posting this from.Is there ANYTHING I can do to enable my Trackpad and Keyboard again?

Mar 4, 2008Last week my company moved locations. I carefully packed up my mac pro in the original box, and transported it myself, so there were no drops or anything like that.
Once I installed the computer in my new office, a USB hub stopped working.
Today, my new monitor arrived. A Samsung SyncMaster 245BW. After I installed that, my Kensington PRO Trackball is not recognized. I uninstalled/reinstalled the Kensington MouseWorks software, but still it is not recognized.

Should I now migrate all my files from my old HD (still in its bay) onto my new SSD? If so, what is the best way to do so?Â
Well, now that I've booted up, the MBP doesn't even see the new SSD? I made sure I installed it as closely as possible to the OWC instructional video.Â

So now the only way I can close a tab is by command w and I have to close the window to get out of zoom. I've read you have to reset safari to fix it but then I also have read that doesn't work and you lose all your saved web pages.

Apr 4, 2012I'm using a Magic Mouse with my MBA because I much prefer a mouse pointer to the touch pad. However, I'm having problem with it that is driving me crazy. Every once in a while, my fingers do something that activates ZOOM in. What I'm doing to cause this is beyond me. What annoys me to no end is that I can't figure out how to cancel the zoom in other than to close the webpage I'm on and then reload it.
What is causing the zoom to activate?
Is there a simple method to cancel zoom other than reloading the webpage?

Jun 6, 2012I'm working via Safari on an online jigsaw puzzle at http://six.flash-gear.com/npuz/puz.php?c=v&id=3274406&k=25952437.  The computer zoomed in on the puzzle...a Mac-based zoom-in menu appeared and accidentally flashed on "zoom in"...and now I cannot undo the zoom. All normal methods fail, and part of the puzzle is off-screen. I don't know how to see the rest of the puzzle now. I thought perhaps deselecting "show all" would help, but it won't let me deselect either.

May 27, 2010I keep running into applications that I can't run because the installer downloads as separate files.
It'll have a file with all sorts of pieces to the program but nothing that brings it together to run it. If there is it's only an autorun- I try the autorun(.inf) and it says there's no application specified to run it.
I have run across these types of applications more times than I can count. Every time I can't find how to make them work, and so I have to give up on them. These programs I download ARE made for Macs, so it's very frustrating- I don't understand. My husband said those types simply can't be run on a mac.
