Mac Pro :: USB Not Working After Installing Kensington Track Ball
Mar 4, 2008
Last week my company moved locations. I carefully packed up my mac pro in the original box, and transported it myself, so there were no drops or anything like that.
Once I installed the computer in my new office, a USB hub stopped working.
Today, my new monitor arrived. A Samsung SyncMaster 245BW. After I installed that, my Kensington PRO Trackball is not recognized. I uninstalled/reinstalled the Kensington MouseWorks software, but still it is not recognized.
I am using this wired mighty mouse for the pass 6 months and recently it had a problem regarding on the track ball... the track ball is able to scroll up just like normal... but when scroll down, it is no longer as sensitive as scrolling up...
While trying to fix my disabled USB ports on my MBP, (Installing some sort of USB driver that wasn't made for my specific OS, which is 10.7.4, which came from the apple website.) I rebooted my computer and I notice that once the loggin screen shows up the cursor won't budge. Then I try hitting Enter on my mac and the arrow keys a little. Nothing. Then I try using every key on the keyboard. Absolutely nothing. Tried resetting the PRAM, SMC, AND tried using Safe Boot. Nothing. At this point I wanted to smash my computer or smash something technology related. The only thing that works on my computer now is the little slim of hope that I call Windows 7 which I am posting this from.Is there ANYTHING I can do to enable my Trackpad and Keyboard again?
When I scroll down, I get no response. Everything else is fine. The clicking sound has also stopped when scrolling down, and I guess this is the reason why it's not working.
Information: Dual-core 2GHz PowerPC G5 Mac OS X (10.4.6) 1GB 533 DDR2 SDRAM
I don't know if this is a coincidence or not, but my scroll ball on my Apple Mouse (wired) will no longer scroll upwards since applying the OS 10.7.4 Supplemental Update on the 1st June 2012.
I have a Mac Mini with a 27" Thunderbolt Display running 10.7.4. There are no software updates available and I have tried all the settings available in the system preferences.
I have a early 2011 13" Mac book Pro and yesterday out of the blue the bottom left click has stopped working
I have checked if secondary click was on and it was. My bottom right click works perfectly fine.
The trackpad makes the sound it is clicking but nothing happens on the screen. If i press really really hard on the bottom left corner it will register I have clicked, but it's not very practically.
Suddenly, gestures stopped working. I have no clue why. Rebooting seems to have cleared the problem, but could this be a signal of a deeper problem? hardware failure? softtware corruption..maybe a setting somehwere?

I Seem to have a problem recently on my 27" iMac with the razer Naga Gaming Mouse. I installed all drivers from RazerZone. Each time I start my iMac my razer naga doesn't track, all the mouse buttons work but it just doesn't track, its really weird because I have been using this mouse for a month now and never got this problem until I think I started to put my IMac to sleep.
Right after OSX update on May 15, 2012, the pairing of my wireless trackpad to the desktop is no longer working. First the bluetooth found my trackpad. After clicking "continue", the box showed: "No trackpad found The pariing attempt was unsuccessful, click "continue" to try again. I've been trying for several times. Still not working!
I have a late 2011/early2012 MBP running OSX 10.7.3 (build 11D50d) and All of a sudden my trackpad is playing up. I can move the cursor from all places of the trackpad apart from the bottom corners - but I can only click in the center of the pad. However I can touch click in most places (apart from bottom corners). Does anybody know how to fix this?
I've only had my MacBook Pro for 4 weeks now, I've not dropped it, knocked it or spilt anything on it, so this is pretty disappointing to say the least. I've seen a bunch of videos on youtube where people are taking their MBP apart and tightening a screw to fix the problem. My warranty is still valid and I have AppleCare so I don't want to be voiding either of those by taking it a apart and messing about inside.
I've noticed that my music control buttons on my laptop are not working after I start up chrome. when i boot i can use them fine with itunes but when i open chrome they become unresponsive.I've tried resetting the PRAM and SMC to mo avail.
Info: MacBook Pro (Retina, Mid 2012), OS X Mountain Lion (10.8.3)
Ok the patient here is a new 2.0 Ghz Macbook. I just woke it up- or tried to. the sleep light was on solid, not pulsing with as it does when sleeping. It didn't respond to key presses of track pad presses. It did power back on after pressing and holding the power key. The desktop was greyed out and a metered progress bar came up and it slowly booted bakc up then resumed as normal. Is this that deep sleep mode, or is this something else?
My computer keeps stalling and rotating beachball won't allow me to move forwards or backwards. Ultimately I need to turn off the power. I have tried resetting the PRAM and SMC but neither seems to help for too long.
i just bought it and am having a little trouble exporting a track i made. i didnt do much to it, just cut it and can not figure out how to export. i go to the export option and then try and save it to the desktop but it is not there when i go to find it
Is there a solution to this problem? I am planning to use my MBA at work and it requires me, at some times during the day, to leave my notebook unattended while I go off and do other tasks. Unfortunately, I don't have my own office and I share a work area with other people. Any suggestions?
Got an MBA a while back (Mid February), and am just now migrating out of my old Dell into my MBA. I find myself in a quandary -- buy bluetooth accessories or invest in a dock for the MBA.
I heard the Kensington sd200v dock is nice, and OS X drivers are in beta. Anyone running this setup on their Mac? I really need the ability to unplug and go at the drop of a hat. The prospect of outputting graphics for an extended desktop, audio, and a USB hub all through one USB connection is VERY attractive. Needless to say, it will all be in vain if I need to reset my graphics properties every time a disconnect and reattach. I have no experience with Kensington products, and ma curious how well they function in the Mac environment.
I have been using a caculator software product called Kensington Adding Machine (v.1.01) on my Macintosh computers for the last 12 years.
While the software is compatible with Mac OS 10 via Mac Classic the new Intel based Macs won't support Mac Classic. Hence I will be unable to use Kensington Adding Machine software when I next upgrade.
The version I'm using is dated 1993 Kensington Microware Limited. No one at Kennsington today even remembers the product.
I have tried many times over the years to find an alternative software product that does what Kensington Adding Machine does. It adds, subtracts, multiplies, divides, has a floating decimal point, it has a paper tape, it saves and prints and it has a small footprint on my desktop and sits in a 2.5" x 3" corner of my 17" Powerbook desktop. It even sounds like an adding machine or calculator when one enters numbers--- reassuring the user that his/her numbers actually got entered.
Nothing I've found on the internet (including Version Tracker) or in catalogs duplicates the simplicity, inconspicuousness and overall effectiveness of Kensington Adding Machine. As a financial person who works off of three laptop computers, I've found nothing on either platform that does what the Kensington Adding Machine does.
Did anyone tested this Kensington Dual Monitor Adapter on iMac. I currently have one monitor connected to my iMac and I wouls love to add another one I am just not sure if this is going to work.
Is it possible?? I have a few different external hard drives... I have a legit copy of os-x or i might be able to download one and use my serial.... I definitely have a full copy that came with my iMac... Anyways, is there a way to put it on an external and have my imac boot from external and install the OS?? !!!! A walkthrough would be nice if something exsists!!!! I am fairly computer literate, but i just made the switch to mac about a year ago... I love my iMac!!!
I have an imac and the cd-rom is broken, and i must do a reformat/reload, but not sure how to do it, because my cdrom is broken...is there a way to reinstall leopard without a working cd-rom drive...
on MBA (latest model, 1 month old) I installed win7 with bootcamp. installation somehow weird but managed to partition 65GB for windows. Now computer only boots in windows mode. no chance for me to change in to MacOS world to access all my data on the MacOffice.... How can I 'go back' to at least switch between MacOS and Win7?
We have a macbook pro but I decided to resurrect my ancient g4 last week so that my kids could play videos and watch youtube. After doing some modifying with flash to get it to play on youtube it worked great. Then I installed 1mb of ram and all **** broke loose. After about 20 minutes everything, and I mean everything went dead. I installed the old 512 chip and reset the cpu and well, it started but things are wonky now. It's running much slower, won't run youtube videos smoothly ( wouldn't really call it playing as much as slideshowing) or play the games the kids had just played last week.
I've been having an issue with my flash player for a long time now. Basically, whenever I go to a site such as [URL] the box where the movie should be just says: Click Here to Download Plugin, and whenever I click to download it, the automatic download fails and I have to go to the manual download. Well, that all works fine (I've tried both the .dmg and the .zip files) until it opens the Adobe Flash Page after the download and installation are complete, and I still get that message that I need to download the plugin that I definitely JUST downloaded and installed.
This has been going on for a very annoying two weeks now, and I've even gone through my desktop and deleted a bunch of my stuff in order to free up my memory and get my computer running a tad bit faster, but that didn't do anything. Frankly, I'm annoyed, and just one step from taking my computer to the store and getting them to look at it.
I have an Imac G5 Model: PowerMac8.2 CPU Type: Power PC G5 (3.0)
I am trying to install windows 7 using bootcamp. I have a windows 7 premium 64 bit iOS, an intel MacBook air 128 ssd drive, and a 16gb Kingston108. I used bootcamp put windows on the flashdrive with the updates and drivers. Partitioned the hard drive (20 gb for windows). Then it restarted the Mac, it kind of sat on the grey startup for a minute then went to a black screen that said non-system disk press any key to reboot. I pressed any key, it didn't reboot, I pushed every key, it didn't reboot. I then held the power button down to force the shutdown. I restarted and same issue. I then option held and booted into Mac os and re did the whole process and same issue.
Just downloaded Snow Leopard and now my spell check only works in Word. Won't work in Safari or email. The red squiggly line comes up but when I right click,
