MacBook Pro :: Bluetooth Mouse Keeps Disconnecting?
May 9, 2012Is there any reason this would keep happening? Is there something I can do to stop it from happening?

View 4 RepliesMy bluetooth MM keeps disconnecting at least twice a day and it's really annoying. I have to keep plugging in my wireless usb mouse to disconnect the MM and then reconnect it through the bluetooth option. I'm really glad I have the usb wireless mouse, but what if I didn't? My g/f will take the usb wireless mouse with her sometimes, so when I'm at home and my MM loses connection, what can I do to to fix this. I obviously can't move the mouse to the bluetooth option on my top right screen and then I also tried turning it off and on again and that doesn't work either.
View 11 Replies View RelatedI installed Windows 7 on iMac 20 inch. All went smoothly and after lot of trail and errors, was able to recognize my apple wireless keyboard and mouse. All well till here. Now the problem is that these two devices keeps disconnecting very very often. For mouse, atleast i can move around and after few clicks, it starts working, but keyboard just doesn't work at all. I have to switch off the keyboard and then switch it back on to get it working for few more minutes. Is there a way I can resolve this? I've installed Bluetooth drivers from bootcamp 2.1 update for vista.
View 10 Replies View RelatedI have a Bluetooth DUN connection setup with my Verizon cell phone (EnV Touch). It works great most of the time. It will randomly lose connection (data will stop transmitting), but it will not disconnect or tell me it stopped working. It looks like it is working fine on the top right menu bar, but data will not send back and forth.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI just upgraded from a MBA rev A to a rev B. I experienced this with both machines, so it's not just a rev A issue...
I use a Bluetooth Mighty Mouse and everything is fine... until my hourly wireless Time Machine backup starts. Then the mouse cursor becomes very choppy and sluggish. As soon as the hourly backup completes, the mouse's responsiveness returns to normal. Throughout all this, the trackpad is just as responsive as always -- no change there. I don't have another bluetooth mouse to see if its just the Mighty Mouse.
When this happens, the Activity Monitor is not spiked. The fans aren't running loud (so I don't expect its an overheating issue). This doesn't happen during a large wireless download -- just Time Machine. It's not a big deal, but rather an annoyance.
Any ideas why? Or even more to the point, any ideas on how to fix it?
I know mighty mouse might be the perfect mouse for iMac. But is it too big for MacBook pro 13" and downgrade portablity? Should I buy bluetooth mighty Mouse for my new MacBook pro 13" or go for those smaller, lighter and cheaper bluetooth mouse from logitech/Microsoft? Besides, does bluetooth mouse work while using iPhone tethering over bluetooth?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a 2009 Mac Pro ("Cyrus").
Connected to it are via USB and video an Apple Cinema Display.
Connected to the Cinema Display are an apple keyboard and to it an Apple Mighty Mouse.
Sometimes the mouse pointer freezes (or rather is found frozen when I return to the machine and the screen saver was on) and the only way to get it back to work is to disconnect the mouse and reconnect it.
However, every second or so time I do this, the Mac Pro crashes. The screen turns darker and in the middle a multilingual text tells me that I have to restart my Mac.
Does this happen to anybody else?
How can I prevent it and why does Mac OS X crash over a USB event?
My wireless mighty mouse has been disconnecting from my new iMac quite frequently. The bluetooth on the menu bar still shows the three little dots like its connected. Since I don't have another mouse to connect when this happens, I have to jump on my laptop and use screen share to "disconnect" and then reconnect the mouse. The guy at the Apple Store that sold me my computer told me that his does this a lot. I thought he was crazy. My MacBook has never done this before. I'm using the exact same mouse that I used with my MacBook. Should I call up Apple and ask them to send me a wired mighty mouse because this happens so often and send them the unused one?
View 8 Replies View RelatedMy wireless keyboard and mouse have been working well for a year. Now, every 4-5 minutes it disconnects and a minute later reconnects without any action from me. I have installed new batteries.
View 1 Replies View RelatedIf I want to format my Mac Pro (6 core 3.33 GHz) and I have an Apple wired keyboard and a bluetooth Magic Mouse will the Setup Assistant be "smart" enough to pair the mouse with the computer or will I be stuck with no mouse during the setup process? Do I have to run the entire process with a wired mouse?
View 3 Replies View RelatedPlease don't tell me magic mouse. I hate that thing with a passion. Maybe it's the shape of my hand i dunno....but i srsly hate it.
View 5 Replies View RelatedOk, the Magic mouse is nice, it's pretty, it's got great scrolling features and it's bluetooth.
But after a few days of using it all day it's a pain. The ergonomics are not ideal, nowhere near as comfortable as my Logitech gaming mouse (can't remember the name) and my wrist hurts.
What is out there that is a good bluetooth mouse? They all seem a bit wishywashy to me, and the MS one I tried had dreadful latency that really bothers me.
Any suggestions?
bluetooth and I am positive one of you are going to say bluetooth and gaming dont go together, but I did not ask that. Also, already know about the Razer Orochi but would like to stay away from it after I read alot of problems with the micro-sleep mode disconnecting the mouse every 1.5 seconds.

I purchased an apple bluetooth mouse last week for my MBA and it has been working great up until this morning. I went to use it and I have much delayed feedback in my mouse movements. Here are the things I tried:
1. Paired it with another mac w/bluetooth and it works normally.
2. Replaced the batteries on the bluetooth mouse, same issue.
3. Repaired the mouse with the MBA, same issue.
4. Changed the wireless channel on my airport express to 8.
Using a bt500 bluetake bluetooth mouse I keep losing the connection, and not being able to connect at all. The bt500 is super cool. I just got a new one because my old one stopped responding to the left button. Now it seems like every time I use the mba (also super cool) I have some kind of problem. Also the mba has frozen a number of times which never (or extremely rarely) happened with my MBPro and G4. I'm wondering if they've introduce a glitch into bluetooth.
View 1 Replies View RelatedSo I went out and bought the wireless Mighty Mouse. My first impressions are not good. Although I like the functionality, it just doesn't feel right - it feels a little flimsy and I can't get used to the scroll wheel. To top it all off, mine has a defect (it won't scroll left....only up/down/right). So I'm going to take it back to the Apple Store tomorrow. I think I'll end up getting something different, but I would like to keep with a Bluetooth one so I don't have to plug anything into my computer.
View 21 Replies View RelatedI've found many different explanations to why bluetooth on my Macbook would 'overheat' and then disconnect from all devices, only to show 'Bluetooth Not Responding'.
I was wondering if anyone has found a fix to this problem. I'm current on all updates running Snow Leopard. Normally, the bluetooth keyboard and mouse works for up to 5 minutes or so, but then loses its connection until it 'cools down' and then this process just repeats. The laptop is currently on a cooling fan and rarely needs the internal fan to even kick on so not sure what else to do.
Can't set up Targus PAKP003 non bluetooth mouse? Planning on ordering a better mouse, (any recommendations) but in the meantime I need to use this one.

How can I set the computer to use the trackpad and not a bluetooth mouse?
View 2 Replies View RelatedSo I'm looking for a fairly basic bluetooth mouse for my Macbook (white, Core Duo, 2 gigs RAM, 10.4.11) in an attempt to cut down on wires in my audio production studio. I don't want to get a Mighty Mouse due to some of the problems I've heard about re: the scroll ball. I'm looking on Newegg and a lot of the bluetooth mice look good, but most of them are designed for PC. Will they work with a Mac? Which ones do, and which ones don't?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI just upgraded my hard drive, now my trackpad and bluetooth mouse will not scroll or swipe. Preferences for the trackpad will not open says theres an error, bluetooth mouse preferences open with no joy
View 7 Replies View RelatedToday my mouse ran out of batteries, so I went to get some new ones. I replaced them, the light on my mouse went on, and it seemed to be working. But, when I tried to move my clicker thing *on the computer* with my mouse, it didn't move. So, I looked at the bluetooth symbol on my computer, I'm on a MacBook, and it showed that my mouse wasn't connected. So I tried turning off the bluetooth, shutting off my mouse and turning it back on, taking out and putting the batteries back in the mouse, and none of these worked. So I went to "Browse Device" and my mouse was there, I clicked on it twice and it said "There was an error connecting to the device". I also deleted it from the bluetooth list, and I am now unable to get it back on the list!

View 4 Replies View RelatedJust bought a bluetooth logitech mouse (V470). It's cool and fair for what I paid, no complains there. But I got a question about the Bluetooth on Macbooks. I have the Early 2009 model Macbook White. How less is gonna last my battery fully charged with WiFi On and Bluetooth On all time? Obviusly I'm gonna turn off BT when I'm using the trackpad, but just to know.
View 1 Replies View RelatedMy macbook pro has the most annoying problem. Sometimes, in a totally random fashion, my bluetooth mighty mouse and apple keyboard just freeze. Bluetooth shows them as connected but they do not respond. Sometimes redoing the ?set up a Bluetooth device? option works but other times the computer refuses to see the devices and only a restart, followed by the setup assistant will fix the problem. Am I the only one with this problem or is it common? Hardware or software? Any fixes?
btw, I think it started doing this since 10.5.7 so I would say it is software...
I managed to get my hands on my new baby last Friday, new MBP 17" i7 with anti-glare! My wife also has a 2009 uMBP 13", which I have been using since Xmas while waiting for Arrandale! I use a stand with a apple wireless keyboard and wireless magic mouse. I have been having problems with the new 17" machine - the mouse and kb work fine for about 30 mins then the mouse gets really slow and jerky and the keyboard gets slow as well and starts displaying double / triple keys when typing etc. The only way to resolve the problem is to reboot. If I unpair the mouse and keyboard and repair this doesnt fix it - only a reboot works. I phoned apple care and they instructed to create a new test user, which I did - same problems.
Reinstalled OSX (machine was only 2 days old though!), and this didnt fix it. So, I took the machine back to my Apple Retail store and swapped it for a new machine. Finally finished setting it up again yesterday, and the problem started AGAIN - So it would seem that unless I have had two faulty machines (highly unlikely) it must be software related? I have been trying to work out what might be causing it - but running the machine without Parallels, Little Snitch, 1 Password, things which I thought could have been related to the problem. I basically ran the same system on my wifes 13" before I got the new machine and I had no problems with the mouse and keyboard. I have also changed the batteries on both the mouse and keyboard.
bluetooth on my 2013 MBP. I have a magic mouse and it randomly stops responding. At first I thought it was a problem with the mouse itself. I changed the batteries,To solve the problem and to get the mouse to work again, I have to actually restart my computer.
Then I realized that when my magic mouse acts up, if I open the Bluetooth preferences, in the spot where the name of my computer should be is this weird message that says "do not localize, name not available" So I've finally realized that the problems I'm having aren't with the mouse but actually the Bluetooth in the computer, either it's a hardware issue with the Bluetooth hardware or the driver is defective. Again, when I restart, I'm able to use my magic mouse again. And when Bluetooth is acting up, when I do try to open Bluetooth preferences, I get the beach ball and everything starts to hang.
I'm attaching pictures of what the Bluetooth preferences screen shows under normal operation with the name of my MBP and showing the mouse is connected and a picture of what the Bluetooth preferences window shows when it's acting up. Is the Bluetooth defective?
Does anybody know of any decent bluetooth rodents worth having a look at? I've come to despise the MM in my few months of using it. I found the bluetooth would constantly drop out (yet my keyboard never gave me a single problem) and that the tracking accuracy was appalling.
Ideally, I'd love the bluetooth version of Logitech's MX Revolution, but I don't want the entire wallet-busting desktop that it is bundled with. Equally, I'd like to avoid smaller brands, simply because I'm a self-confessed mouse snob (hey, I don't want CTS or RSI).
Also, I can't stand these minescule 'notebook' mice. That crosses the Logitech v470 right off the list, sadly. It doesn't look particularly nice, either. If I can't find a suitable bluetooth mouse, I think I'll be settling for Razer's new Mamba announced at CES 2009 (http://ces.cnet.com/8301-19167_1-10136619-100.html). Personally, I don't think there is a better brand of mice than Razer.
