after updating to 10.7.4, the network and clock icons that were showing on my menu bar have disappeared. I cannot get them to reappear by checkin ght e show in menu bar option in sys prefs.

I have just installed the update for 10.7.4 and now my ethenet port is not showing up in Network Preferences! Even when i go to add it back in it is not option. Also it does not show up under system profiler.

Some of my desktop icons "disappear" intermittently ( not always the same icon(s)). still appears but the icon is blank. I can still click on the blank spot and the app will launch.
Oh and my personal "Avatar" photo also reverts to an earlier choice ( intermittently ) as well. Can change it to the one I want to use but it reverts back to the old picture also from time to time ...

I was using candybar to edit some icons. Then while it was restarting the dock the application, i think, crashed. After that my dock was no more I have tried making another login but still the dock is missing I dont believe that anything got deleted idk. Also I opened candybar again and I pressed the button to make it restore all the changes is made. It completed the restore but my dock was still missing.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm having some issues with my Macbook Pro that just arose today. Randomly, when I'm on Safari, the screen will flash a little and the icons at the bottom will disappear. They will come back in a couple seconds and pop-ups that I usually only get when I first log on will appear. Safari also refreshes the page I was viewing. I did a little research and thought the issue might be google drive, but I do not have it installed on my Mac.

View 6 Replies View RelatedEver since I've been using Lion (came pre-installed on my MacBook Air), I've noticed that the top icons in stacks do not update unless the Dock is restarted (with a "killall Dock" from the Terminal, or by logging out/restarting, etc). This happens for absolutely any folder that is added to the Dock as a stack. When a new file is added to the folder, the stack simply shows a generic white file icon on top. Once the Dock is restarted, the stack will show the proper preview as it should.Â
So far I've tried deleting and re-creating stacks, repairing permissions from Disk Utility, reseting ACLs on the home folder, and even deleting the caches and .plist files for the Dock, Quick Look, and Finder. Nothing has made a difference.Â

I just realized today that there are entries made in System.log (visible in Console) every 10 seconds. They are trying to run a MOTULauncher, which is probably some type of driver for a recording device I installed at one point but no longer use. How to go about stopping this? I've been searching on my computer trying to find a configuration file or something, but I can't seem to find where this is being called.

When I go to system prefs. and go into any submenu, the max/min/close buttons, as well as the search box, heck that entire bar just disappear. Its only when I hover over them do the individual items pop back into display, but the whole bar just doesn't restore itself. Like imagine the top bar on firefox, except its a white strip and the 3 buttons are rectangular blobs sticking out against the white. If that makes sense.

I'd like to delete one of them (no big deal), except that Mail tells me it will delete all messages associated with this address. That would be a lot of messages and messages that I need.Â
I place document icons in my finder sidebar, and sometime later they change to folder icons. Does not matter which application they come from, it seems to happen to them all, but they are still linked to the correct documents.
