Don't know why can't play my movies on iTunes or quicktime, because a requierd codec isn't available. I already downloaded several things and also bought QuickTime 7 Pro and Mpeg-2 and still not working. What should I Do?

as the title says. I have some AVI files that Quicktime doesn't want to play. it's telling me to go to this site that has different codecs but none of them work. I have that flip4mac program but it doesn't do anything either.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI've just tried DivX for Mac [URL] but found out that it doesn't support .srt subtitles. I'm already using Flip4Mac for .wmv files, but I'm looking for a codec pack to play all other codecs like Divx, Xvid, H.264 with subtitles support for .sub and .srt files. I know that Perian is a good one, but is there anyone better?

For a school assignment, my friend and I made a movie and edited it on iMovie, on her Macbook Air. We put it on a USB to get it on my Macbook Air, but when I try to open it on my computer, it says that quicktime player can't open it. My friend downloaded an app called Smart Converter, which converts movies into a quicktime file that you can us on your mac, but that didn't work either. I really need to get this video on my mac, what can i do?

I am trying to play a .avi video on my MAC that was originally in .rar compressed format. I opened it in VLC, and the audio wont play.. so i checked the info and saw that:
video codec: XVID
audio codec: mpga
I have perian downloaded.. it doesnt seem to be doing anyting. I dont know if i've missed something in my extracting process of the .rar file.
I've got a really annoying problem on my mac that I'd do anything to get rid of. When I play a streamed movie or tv programme off the net (ie from iplayer or 4OD) firstly the mouse doesn't disappear after 3-4 seconds and is always visible on screen and secondly on some occasions the screen just goes white! I have to quit playback and then go back to full screen to get rid of it.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have this problem a wile now. When I play music (or watch a movie) I can hear there is something wrong with my sound output. It's hard to describe, but is is like someone is playing with an equalizer. The high pitch sounds (voices) are constantly changing in volume. maybe the basses to, but its hard to hear that. BUT, the strange thing is, when I play something in windows (parallels) it is much better... The bass is here more dimmed for some reason.

View 18 Replies View RelatedI recently rented a movie for my son to watch, but have not been able to view it because iTunes is telling me that my computer is not authorized to view the movie. It gives me the option of authorizing the computer if I enter my iTunes Store password. I do and it gives me the same error message with the opportunity to again enter my password. If I click CANCEL it tells me what I already knew, and that is that the computer is already authorized. The rental purchase was made from this Mac and yet I'm not able to purchase it. Is there something that needs to be fixed in order to play this, or is this a bug in iTunes 10.5.3?

How do I play a movie on iTunes smoothly?
View 2 Replies View RelatedRented a movie from iTunes on my MacBook Air. The download completes but the movie won't play. It says that iTunes can't execute my request and that I should try again later. The error message number is -42110. Been trying later for two days and nothing's changed. Still get the same error message. What's odd is if I check for available downloads, it downloads the movie all over again expct it still won't play.

I'm helping a friend out who's selling a Mac with legit copies of Leopard, iLife, iWork, and CS3 loaded on. We are supplying the disks and original packaging to the buyer as well. We're wondering if there's a way we can install all of that software from the disks, setup the person's user account with the info they provided us and at the very least, set the computer/Leopard to play the "Welcome to OS X" movie again one time. If possible, we'd like it to take the user through the initial setup again too, but I don't see how that could be possible considering you have to have a user account setup to install programs.
