I downloaded a movie from the iTunes Store to my MacBook Pro (all latest software) and iTunes says it can't play the movie. Specific error says "This movie requires Quicktime which is not supported by this version of iTunes." I'm running iTunes 10.6.1 and MacOS 10.7.3.
Info:Mac OS X (10.7.2)
I bought the film, "Woodstock," a couple of years ago thru iTunes. I see the film listed in iTunes and I see the actual file on my computer, but I cannot get it to play. It has played in the past. I was going to re-download thru iCloud, but it says it's already downloaded, which it is. I have also tried logging into iTunes using my other IDs but still it won't play. I also tried to open it in QuickTime, but I got this error message - <The document “Woodstock_ 3 Days of Peace and Music (Director's Cut).m4v” could not be opened. This content is not authorized.>
View 6 Replies View RelatedI'm have iTunes 10.6.1 and have just downloaded two HD movies from iTunes. They downloaded fine but when I went to play movies I get the following message "This movie requires QuickTime, which is not supported by this version of iTunes"! I can play the movie via QuickTime but not via iTunes. I am also unable to sync the movie to my iPad as it states during the sync that "this movie will not play on your iPad".

View 3 Replies View RelatedI purchased my first movie in iTunes on the iPad 2 and I didn't realise how much space this would take up - this was only showing when I was already downloading it - it took up over 6GB of space and I have no idea how to get rid of it again or archive/move it somewhere else?

I downloaded handbrake to my hp computer running windows vista. I tried to "rip" a couple of movies. That worked...I think (m4v file format) But I cannot figure out how to get the movie in to iTunes, so that I can put the movies on my iPhone or iPad. I tried dragging the file in to the movie section, and also going to the menu and opening "add file" (or something like that). Nothing happens! When I ripped the movie, I selected "iPhone Ipod touch". I also should mention that when I double click on the file, and try to watch the movie on my computer I am unable to watch it on any program. For example it says that it is a file type that QuickTime does not recognize. I am completely new to this and simply don't know what im doing!

I can't play any of the music I've downloaded. My computer wants an autorization (Which I do), says my computer is already authorized, and still won't let me play these songs. All of the CD's I've uploaded have had no problem.

Deleted and redownloaded the episode. De-authorize and then re-authorized computer for iTunes.
I'm getting what looks like the QuickTime interface. The counter runs but there is no sound, no picture.

Downloaded an album from iTunes, and it plays all songs except one. Error message says that I need to authorize the computer. It is already authorized, but even when I re-key the user name and password I refuses to play that one song.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI"m using the same computer and the same user account I always use to purchase from itunes. It keeps asking me to authorize over and over, and tells me it is already authorized over and over. And still won't play or go onto my ipod.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI recently rented a movie for my son to watch, but have not been able to view it because iTunes is telling me that my computer is not authorized to view the movie. It gives me the option of authorizing the computer if I enter my iTunes Store password. I do and it gives me the same error message with the opportunity to again enter my password. If I click CANCEL it tells me what I already knew, and that is that the computer is already authorized. The rental purchase was made from this Mac and yet I'm not able to purchase it. Is there something that needs to be fixed in order to play this, or is this a bug in iTunes 10.5.3?

I today purchased my first movie RENTAL on itunes, using my mac. My machine now shows the movie in the rentals tab, but when I click play, the player remains black and the timer does not move from 0.00. My purchases work absolutely fine, but for some reason this rental will not play.

How do I play a movie on iTunes smoothly?
View 2 Replies View RelatedRented a movie from iTunes on my MacBook Air. The download completes but the movie won't play. It says that iTunes can't execute my request and that I should try again later. The error message number is -42110. Been trying later for two days and nothing's changed. Still get the same error message. What's odd is if I check for available downloads, it downloads the movie all over again expct it still won't play.

Just purchased Yellow Submarine (HD), the new one just released. On a Mac Pro with Apple 30" Cinema Display. Get error message "The selected movie won't play on your Display", This movie can only be played on displays that support HDCP (High-bandwidth Digital Content Protection)." How the heck am I able to purchase a movie via iTunes on a Mac that a Mac won't play? There's no warnings or anything about it in the iTunes store or anything.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI rented the film and i can see it on the ipad but it won't play - there is a 'square' where the play 'arrow' should be. If i go back into itunes the option isn't there to 're-download' it - how do i make it play or get a refund?

I have downloaded music from solarseek, the files are "completly downloaded" never the less the files stay in the folder "uncomplete", the info details says "itunes Document" for each file, example of a files name , "02 brothers on the slide.mp3 - Hagafarta.solarseek".
I want them to play or to open, but they dont work on itunes, i downloaded manny files (songs) from different users on solarseek, so its not a problem of corrupted files.
Downloaded an E.P. and all of the songs play fine except one which skips itself. The play count goes up and if I click later in the song it will play, but it doesn't play automatically, how do i fix this?

I cannot play downloaded TV shoes from iTunes. I get this message: "This movie can be played only on displays that support HDCP (High-bandwidth Digital Content Protection)". I have an iMac 20 inch, early 2008 iMac8,1.
What measures can I take to either get HDCP on my display, or can I modify download specs from iTunes?

I just purchased an album from iTunes. All songs play except 1. When I attempt to play the fourth song, I'm presented a dialog box telling me that I'm not authorized to play the song on the same computer I used to download it. When I enter my Mac ID and Password to authorize the song, I receive another dialog telling me that the song is already authorized to play on this computer. I attempt to play the song, and once again informed that I'm not authorized to play the song, going on to state that I've only authorized two out of the five allowed.
I've gone into my Mac account, and only three devices are authorized (Mac, iPhone, iPad). I went ahead an removed authorization on this Mac, then re-added my authorization. Still, the same song out of 20 will not play due to authorization.
I recently bought a song via my iPad and it shows up in my library. But it won't play. It acts like it's downloading (moving bars) but it never finishes. What's wrong and what should I do?
