I have a Macbook Pro Retina 15'' early 2013 since one year ago. I´ve noticed some distortion when playing loud music but I cannot say if it happened before. If the speaker can be damaged because of playing loud music? Is there any way of checking if the speaker has been damaged?Â

I have set my website up in iWeb (so simple and great) and I have added to the homepage a QT music file for visitors to listen to. Unfortunately however when you do click on the song and then navigate to one of my other pages on the website such as my portfolio, the music stops. I was hoping that the song would play continuously while navigating through the website no matter what page the visitor was on. Is this even possible?

I have ALOT of music on my macbook pro. so much i don't have much hard drive space left and its really slowing down my laptop. i have all the music on an external hard drive. is it possible to play the music directly off the hard drive rather than having to import ALL the songs to my laptop? itunes just imports all the songs automatically and i don't want it to. i would rather just play the music off the hard drive and save space on my laptop

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have my AM radio plugged into the Line In on my Mac Pro. The input level in the sound prefrences reads fine, the meter is bouncing up and down like it should.
But I can't get it to actually play out the speakers. I recorded some of the audio in garage band, and that worked, but I still can't hear it unless I play the recording back
Is there ANY software or anything I can do to just hear what is coming in through the line in out my internal speakers?
Random question, but does anyone know how to get a usb microphone to play through speakers? - i.e. I want to use it in a karaoke kind-of-way!!

View 7 Replies View RelatedI was wondering if it's possible to play sound through the speakers and headphones of a computer simultaneously.
The reason I was wondering if it would work, is because I'm recording a song for school, and I can't hear the backing track through my speakers, but my computer still picks it up. However if i we're to use headphones and my speakers could be playing the same thing at the same time, everything would be fine.
I was wondering how could i play music in itunes from my external hard drive without it being saves in my itunes music folder?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have a home office and a macbook pro, and my desk is on the other side of the room from my stereo. I would like to not have to run another cord to my computer and would like to play music from my computer via bluetooth. I can purchase a bluetooth receiver and plug it into the back of my stereo.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI've been trying to get my airtunes express to stream sound through my home stereo with no luck. I am using a PC running my the airport express through a JVC receiver. Everything on the part of the Airport express seems to be connected correctly, I am able to log online and get a steady green light. I setup iTunes to allow for the living speakers to play but when iTunes tries to connect to the other speakers it doesn't seem to recognize them being available.
I've tried connecting it through both a digital optical connection and regular red/white audio cable connection to the back of the receiver. When using my itouch it syncs perfectly to my computer as I able to change the songs, and volume my computer is playing. When I try to select the living room speakers on my computer its grayed out an never seems to complete the connection process. When I connect to them on my itouch it connects but only sound comes out of the computer. I've made sure the volume is turned up on the master volume tab on iTunes. Do I need to do a hard reset?
One of the problems that myself and i'm sure many others have come across is getting audio to go to external speakers via the audio jack.
When i plug it in it says a device has been plugged into the audio jack and when i go into it, it brings up the line in tab, so just wondering if there was a solution yet or do we just have to put up with inbuilt speakers on our macs?
I plugged in a Shure AXS1 microphone into the analog stereo line-level input. In the system prefs I set the Input to Line in.The midi panel to built in line input. When recording in Audition the sound level is really low and coming out only on the right channel (speaker). Why is it coming out on one channel?I can deal with a low level sound recording but coming out only on one channel on playback has stumped me. I've been playing with all the settings but no luck.Second. When recording is it normal not being able to hear yourself playfrom the speakers?

I know variations of this question has been asked a billion times but I would just like to get a simple answer if someone could help out. Im thinking of purchasing my first mac (air) and I would like to use the SD card slot to store my music.Â
If I store the music on the SD card, can itunes (or whatever other music playing program) play this music? Does read/write speed make a big difference just to play the music? Â

if you have itunes match, can you erase the music from your HD and still play music on iTunes?

...now I don't have the same functionality with iTunes. Basically, I can't use iTunes at all anymore as the interface for my music and videos. Once the external drive is mounted, I can navigate through it and play individual songs, but I can't use iTunes to do that. All my previous Playlists show up down the left side of iTunes, but there isn't any music in them.
I downloaded 2 songs yesterday, made a Playlist out of them, and because the path in the Advanced tab of the iTunes Preferences is correct, it automatically added the songs to the external hard drive. I synced my iPod and it was completely erased except for the 2 new songs. Is there a way to use iTunes to navigate my music like I used to when I stored the information on the internal hard drive but keep the information on the external drive? I have a Mac running Snow Leopard and the latest version of iTunes.
I have Bootcamp 3.1 and Windows Vista Home 32bit is fully up to date.
The audio on my Mac Pro 2008 will play out of the front speaker but will not through my Klipsch 2.1 system. I checked and rechecked to make sure I have the audio cord plugged into Audio Out on the back of the Mac. When using OSX the audio plays just fine through my 2.1 system.
Any ideas on what I can do to troubleshoot the issue?
Although this isn't a very important problem, I have noticed on my early 2K8 Mac Pro the Boot POST chime will not play through external speakers. Is there a way to enable this, as it is awfully tinny from the internal speaker.

My MacBook Pro plays DVDs with movies on, but no CDs with music, or DVDs with software on them. It just makes a noise for about 30 seconds, then spits them out. What do I do? I know there's a lot about this issue already on the forums/the internet, but I've never come across a fix. I didn't buy my MacBook directly from Apple. Will they still fix it if I pay them?
