ITunes :: Using Itunes To Play Music From External Drive / Playlists Show No Music File
Aug 6, 2010...now I don't have the same functionality with iTunes. Basically, I can't use iTunes at all anymore as the interface for my music and videos. Once the external drive is mounted, I can navigate through it and play individual songs, but I can't use iTunes to do that. All my previous Playlists show up down the left side of iTunes, but there isn't any music in them.
I downloaded 2 songs yesterday, made a Playlist out of them, and because the path in the Advanced tab of the iTunes Preferences is correct, it automatically added the songs to the external hard drive. I synced my iPod and it was completely erased except for the 2 new songs. Is there a way to use iTunes to navigate my music like I used to when I stored the information on the internal hard drive but keep the information on the external drive? I have a Mac running Snow Leopard and the latest version of iTunes.

Mar 26, 2012I'm using 10.7.3. iTunes 10.6. MacBook Pro 2.6Ghz 4GB ram. ITunes won't play my video anymore and it's been a while I'm not sure when it occurred if it's after an update to snow leopard or iTunes updates. When I double click a video I get "This movie requires QuickTime, which is not supported by this version of iTunes."? And cannot convert the option doesn't work I get this other message when trying to convert a version for APPLE TV in advanced menu "None of the selected files were converted because they could not be found."?
But the movies are quicktime movies in my library and the MPEG-4 plays in iTunes but not on APPLE TV. From all my videos I get one only going through APPLE TV and when I try opening it it says error occured why opening and never works? It seems APPLE is regularly messing things up in updates to loose people so they have to pay for tech support, I didn't upgrade to iPhoto 11 and cannot import anything anymore into it so my entire library is a dead one; not a cool way to do business than messing people software so they have to buy newer versions!

May 28, 2012Is there perhaps a setting to tweak that would prevent iTunes from listing videos (like music videos some albums include) alongside the music library? I usually uncheck them so they don't play after an album runs through but my OCD would much prefer they not even be listed in the same list. I don't want to remove them from my entire iTunes library but would prefer them only being visible within the movies tab.Â

If I have a song playlist, and I tell it to play the first song, it then goes on immediately to play the second song. But with videos, they don't immediately play. I have a playlist full of short videos. Shuffle is on, as well as Repeat All. Aug 18, 2009Whenever I wanna play music on my iTunes, it stays at 0:00 ..... I've tried everything so far. I can't even go on youtube and hear the music. Yes, my volumes up, everything is plugged in, I went to system preferences and checked the sound, everythings fine. I re-installed iTunes, nothing happened... I can still buy songs and it goes on my iPod... The I have is an iMac G5 (tiger) and yes, I updated iTunes and the rest of my updates.
