As soon as I unplug the mac from the wall - it dies. its not even 30 days old. I presume this is a defective battery? there are no lights on the side at all

In the last two weeks, my Air will not hold after I Shut Down or Suspend, battery seems to work fine if I'm using it (drains normally). When I turn it on it's at 0%. Plugging it in will charge to 100% in ~30 minutes. Did SMC reset did not resolve problem. I don't believe there are any hardware issues.. Will a format fix this? All software is up-to-date.
i have a 09 13in macbook. the battery won't hold a charge at all. my is how many charge cycles can i have before i have to buy one thats not covered under the protection plan
I put my 17" Macbook Pro to sleep overnight without the power adapter two nights ago, and when I woke up yesterday it wouldn't turn on, even with the power adapter plugged in. The battery was almost dead when I put it to sleep (2% charge), but after leaving the adapter plugged in all day yesterday the battery indicator on the bottom only has one light glowing solid.I've removed the battery and tried to start it with just the power adapter, I've tried Ctrl+Cmd+Power Button, I've reset the PRAM, I've reset the SMC, and it still doesn't work.
My wife's Macbook 2.1 is acting strangely. The Battery indicator led's are full (green) the charger led is also green and the software shows 100% battery is charged. After a couple of seconds after disconnecting the charger it switches off. I've tried resetting the SMC and this allowed a full nights use without the charger but on the next day it went back to only holding for a couple of seconds. I don't want to have to reset the SMC every day. It's running on 10.5.8 and is all up to date.

If you look at apple's battery life page it states the MBA battery is removable, I thought it wasn't supposed to be?Battery Lifespan For Apple notebooks with removable batteries ? such as the MacBook, MacBook Air, and 15-inch MacBook Pro ? a properly maintained battery is designed to retain up to 80% of its original capacity at 300 full charge and discharge cycles. You may choose to replace your battery when it no longer holds sufficient charge to meet your needs.
Just bought a new 15 inch retina MBP. My question is...should I immediately charge the battery or let it run to zero first and then charge it? Does it even matter?

i have a macbook pro mid 2010 and i was wondering what the max storage was. i am hoping to put in 3 terrabites and was wondering if that would be compadable.
I just recently got a Macbook Pro 15" and is wondering how much ram it can hold. It's mid-summer, currently holding 2gb in its 2 memory slots totalling 4gb of ram. It's the $1799 version. I've been trying to find out in the internet but they're all from the older versions.
More Info=Processor 2.3 GHz Intel Core i7Memory 4 GB 1600 MHz DDR3Graphics Intel HD Graphics 4000 384 MBGraphics NVIDIA GeForce GT 650M 512 MBI just want to know how much it can hold so I can plan on upgrading later on.
My Macbook Pro won't hold a wireless signal. I don't have another wireless signal to test, but have tested other devises which connect fine.
'07 model MBP core duo running OS4.11 + original Airport (hey it still works). The MBP will only stay connected now if my base station within 10' or so. It might connect 30' away, but looses the signal after loading a few pages online. It seems like its getting worse -- maybe not, but seems like it is. I can connect just find with my other MBP, iPod (streaming audio across the house, etc) and PS3.
I do video editing and I felt like it still not fast enought fo rendering files, So I have heard from many mac user said " Macbook pro can hold up to 16 gb of ram. But the shop won't recomment that
My 15" early 2008 MacBook Pro won't shut down unless I hold the power button. I have done extensive searches and have done the following and the problem still persists. I have pulled the battery to reset the SMC or whatever it is called. I ran disk utilities and repaired the permissions. I deleted unnecessary files in the preferences folder...... still no go..... in fact it won't load software updates because it gets hung up.... then I have to force quit it by holding the power button..... I am at a loss.
Is there a good, sleek, slimline, and stylish hard cover out there to fit this model? When I first purchased the notebook, all of the hardcovers looked horrible. But now some of the new MBP models have fantastic covers available. Also, it's important that the cover doesn't hold in any heat since I do a lot of GPU and CPU intensive work.
I want to know how to find out what is the max amount of ram my computer can actually take advantage of, rather than tell you my model and you tell me what is the max because I know it varies according to the model of the Computer
here is my model: Macbook(13-inch, Mid 2010 [unibody]) basically the latest version of the white macbook.
My macbook won't show the screen where you hold down the option key and it won't show the apple logo or the spinning gear just a blank white screen when I turn it on. I replaced the old hard drive with a brand new 500 gb 2.5 inch data hard drive.I also purchased a brand new copy of OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard.when I put the disc in and power it on holding the option key nothing happens just a white screen with no apple logo or spinning gear.
My new MBP won't let me select multiples items when I click the first icon, hold shift, and click the first one. I'm burning photos on dvds so not being able to do this is EXTREMELY frustrating.
How much data can a 256GB Flash storage hold? The only reason I haven't gone ahead with my purchase is that I'm worried that 256GB is too little. I wish it were possible to upgrade to 512GB on the base model.
I can no longer hold down a key and get the character to repeat as say, aaaaa. Instead I get a menu of accented a's, such as àáâäæãåā. I can't find any thing in the System Preferences that allows my to turn this function off.
My main computer is a MPB17 with 256gb SSD and 750gb HD in an optibay. I have huge media libraries and like to have ready access to all my photos and videos. I have a Gen 1 Air that I use at home for mail and surfing and I have been using my iPad for mail and web when out. I have a max spec 11" Air arriving this week. It weighs the same as my iPad with Vaja case so I'm going to take it everywhere and leave the iPad for a reader in bed. Now I'm starting to think I might leave the 17" in my office and sync the 11" Air up and use if when I'm out. Problem is I want a fast, light USB drive to hold my media. Ideally with USB and FW so I can sync it fast with the MBPro.
I have a late 2008 uMBP 15 inch and in safari, regardless of using the integrated graphics card or the higher end card, when I press apple t for a new tab the computer hangs for at least 10 seconds then once it finally loads the top sites page it appears all scrambles for a second, then it works normally.
My second problem is that my hinge is very loose. I can't hold the laptop at 45 degree angle without the screen falling down and closing. Will apple fix this?
im new here and im a little unsure where to post about my macbook, But i hope this is the place. Anyways, i was wondering if its possible to toggle the fn button, cause im a flash animator, and its pretty anoying that i have to hold fn down to create a new keyframe.
My Macbook pro is not booting properly. When I start it up, it goes through the normal process and gets to a point where a screen comes up telling me: "You need to restart your computer. Hold down the Power button for several seconds or press restart now" This happens every time. I tried to start in safe mode and holding down the option key and selecting the mac partition. Neither would work.
I'm considering buying/making a stand for my MBP but have limited desk space, so what I ideally want is a stand which will hold my laptop, fully opened, with its screen completely vertical against, say, the wall behind my desk. If this is hard to imagine, think of it this way: say you're looking at the laptop from the right hand side, in it's normal open position it makes a kind of '9-o-clock' shape with the screen perfectly vertical and the keys perfectly horizontal. I'm looking for more of a '7-o-clock' but where the screen is raised to eye level, whilst still perfectly vertical
It shows that the charger is connected, but it stays at a 0% charge. I got it used. It's about 4 years old. The previous owner had no problem with this. The color on the charger is green. Is it supposed to be? What do i need to do to fix this?
