I created users and applied email addresses, all of the necessary setup. On our Lion client machines sending invites doesn't seem to work. Some of the names have a grey circle crossed out by the name. Names that don't still don't receive the invite.Â

Aug 24, 2014I'm sending calendar invites from iOS (MacBook Pro, iPhone 5, iPad Air) to a gmail recipient (also with latest MacBook Pro, iPhone 5, and iPad Air), and he's not receiving a link to add to their iOS calendar. He just receives an email. Am I configured wrong, or is he? When he had an exchange calendar, invites went through smoothly.

May 11, 2009I'm a new MacBook user and have embraced the change, if only my clients did too. Almost all of them are on PCs using Outlook, Lotus Notes or some other mail program. When I send a meeting invite from iCal to them, most of them cannot open the email and cannot accept/decline the meeting. I am not using Entourage and would rather not.

Whenever anyone sends all four of us an invite to a meeting, I get four badge counts and alerts for the four calendar accounts that I have set up to view. Is there a way to stop this and only get alerts for a primary google calendar in the mac calendar app?

I set up another account and it's the same thing with the password not being accepted. What's the deal? "The .Mac password you entered is not correct. Applications :: How To Make ITunes Accept Other Video Formats
Jul 15, 2008As many of you may or may not have realized, iTunes has an annoying habit of not letting one import any video files not in "iTunes friendly" formats. This confounded me as iTunes presumably used Quicktime for playing... so if Quicktime+Perian/Flip4Mac can play them, why can't iTunes? Sick and tired of having to convert AVIs and other downloaded video types for the sake of having them in iTunes, I sought out a way of fooling iTunes via tweaking the File Type / Creator settings on files so that iTunes would accept them.
Start out by choosing the app/utility of your choice. I use FileBuddy (search here for it) but any number of utilities are capable of doing the job.
I then open up File Buddy, drag the video file/s into the main window and then click "Get Info". In the resulting window, near the bottom right is a pull-down menu labelled "Type". Whatever it is currently set to (in my AVI case, it was "VfW"), change it to "MooV" and click "Save" (or "Change All" if you are dealing with multiple files). Voila! Drag the old files into iTunes and there you go!

May 2, 2012I have a Dual 2ghz PowerPC G5.I'm positive the password is correct because I enter it all the time in my other mac hardware/applications. I tried deleting the mail account them re-adding it, it still rejects my password. I can't update any of my software (nothing is available). I've tried restarting the computer.Safari still works. All my other apps still work.  I selected PowerMac as the product on the pulldown menu, I hope that's the same as PowerPC. My OS is 10.4.11Â

Jan 6, 2011Long story short, I accidentally deleted my iChat and reinstalled it from my leopard boot disk but now iChat wont work. Whenever I click on someones name in my buddy list or if i go into my preferences and click on the messages tab, iChat just freezes and crashes. I've tried deleting the com.apple.iChat.plist, reinstalling, repairing disk permissions, etc... I really don't know what else to do. Any ideas?

Nov 27, 2009I was away from my computer for a day and when I returned I had an IM from a Screen Name that has been harassing me for a couple of months. They keep trying to video chat me or IM me, but I never answer. When I returned to my computer this morning, there was an IM that I opened and was finally going to say something to the person, but when I opened it, there was a couple of messages saying that they have downloaded all of my information and passwords and files. I am going to attach a photo so you can see. It looks a little fishy. I called Apple and they have never seen it. There are no articles about anything like it on google. The persons SN is bolded which is odd since usually when iChat tells you if someone has signed off or on, the SN is not in bold. Also iChat never gives warning messages like these. I feel like it is some script for iChat that someone started using. If not and someone has in fact hacked my system, which I don't believe someone can do through iChat, can someone let me know what to do. Also if they hacked my system some other way, I don't see why iChat would warn me about it and not something else in the computer.
