I'm soon to acquire a used 17" iMac G5 for our daughter who's been using my 20" Intel (running OS 10.5.8) for the past couple years. She has several game applications with lots of play time invested, all saved for her next session. What is the procedure to entirely copy and/or export all these game files (notably SPORE) from my computer onto hers with no loss of data or saved places? My intent is to copy any and all game files I can find onto DVD's or CD's and copy THEM onto the G5 desktop or HD, and when they're safely installed, trash all that's on my computer, bogging it down. Will this work? We're out in the sticks, no way to experiment with this, hence my question not wanting a very irate daughter on my hands if it fails.
Im an FCPX editor for a local cable fishing show in So Cal (Angler Chronicles) and Im still mailing beta SP tapes to a studio so the show can be aired.
I recently heard that if we covert to MXT files with 8 channel audio and "drop frame"?, in the future we can safely send the files electronically, via the web.
So, how to get my edited shows into the format mentioned above?

My goal is to export HD quality files to upload to my website that accepts flv, f4v, and mp4 formats. When I try exporting using Compressor to the mp4 format, the sound quality is there, but the video plays at half speed and has vertical lines in it. I've tried it several times, and have even first exported a .mov file from FCP, then used Compressor only to have the same results.

For a group presentation someone in our group made the whole thing using iwork. Now we need it in powerpoint to present it to the class. She does not have powerpoint on her computer. I am a documentary filmmaker who is using Bento to create a database for all of our archived photos, documents, etc. I would like to share this information with the other members of my team who also have Bento. The problem is when I try to export my library collection, containing all of the photos and documents, those on the receiving end are not getting the data.

I am trying to load, SD memory cards (2g) for my Audi's navigation system, I have followed some disucssions on here—about using iTunesMyWalkman, to convert files. I have loaded a SD card, and played it in my car, well my question, is there anyway to see all the artists that are in this playlist? I lets me play through selections—or skip through, to get to next artist or albums. Is there a way to see all the artists that are in playlist, then be able to scroll down and play that artist?

I have a Sony GV-D1000 MiniDV Video Walkman that must be six plus years old? I haven't used it for two years.Today I attempted to plug it into my new MacMini running Lion 10.7.3 -- and quickly discovered I did not have the correct Firewire cable. The MacMini needs this newest mini input IEEE1394b Firewire 800 port Mbps 8 pin.My Sony GV-D1000 has an output i.LINK DV Interface IEEE1394a 400 Mbps 4 pin I dashed to the store and bought a cable with those connectors. Rocketfish RF-AP309 from Best Buy. Crud!! The MacMini cannot see the Video Walkman. I tried connecting, re-connecting… turning the Walkman off/on. Restarted the MacMini. Nothing. Tried this with my latest version of iMovie '11 -- and with iMovie HD vers 6.0.3. Neither video softwares can see the Sony GV-D1000. OK, Plan B:I pulled out my MacBook Pro 17" early 2008 (purchased new March 2008) running Lion 10.7.3.The new firewire cable just purchased will not work plugged into the MBP….. Next I grab a 400 Mbits FireWire IEEE 1394a. Plug that into the MPB and the other end into the Walkman. It works! It peforms well with both video software's. But… I want to work on the new MacMini. Would I have purchased a defective cable? Or is there something about the MacMini that won't accept the signal from the Sony GV-D1000?

if you have more than one sheet in a Numbers document, is there a way to EXPORT just one sheet to Excel? There is no option to do that under the Export feature. The alternative is to copy the one sheet into a blank new numbers document then export.
What would be the best format to export video in iMovie 09 using quicktime when the source is NTSC DV format? Something that wont take as much space as DV AVI, but still looks very good.
I am soon going to be buying a Sony HDR-XR520V and I already have iLife 09 installed on my Mac Pro. I will also be buying Roxio Toast 10 Pro and a Bluray Drive to be able to watch my videos on my HD television. Now I need to know if I can export to Toast 10 in 1920 by 1080 Interlaced or not? I'm sure its possible but when I look at the Share option for iMovie 09 the largest resolution is 960 by 540 which is half of what I want. Any ideas on how to do this?
I am using Skype 2.7 on Mac OSX Tiger. I couldn't see any place where I can export the contacts list so that if at any other point, I can import them back if needed. If Apple script is there to achieve this, its much better to maintain it.
Is there any better way of exporting a Pages document to HTML, other than exporting to RTF then exporting again to HTML? This approach works, but it produces odd-looking output that needs some manual editing.
I created an 11X17 poster in iWorks8. When I exported it into a pdf file to take to get it printed, it did not export properly. When I try to open it up on my computer it opens fine. When I transfer it to another computer it only transports some of the graphics and text. The Adobe reader on the PC says there is an error and ask the creator to fix it. Only the Mac does not identify a problem when creating the pdf file.
I am needing to export some contacts out of address book into a .csv file as I am switching over to an actual mailing list provider. Any ideas how to do that? I downloaded a program called addressbook2csv, but it doesn't work
What is the best export method (file type and settings) for exporting HD video to be converted using Handbrake? I use handbrake to convert my HD video to be played on my iPad. And I want to edit the video first in iMovie, then export the movie to handbrake to be converted to play on my iPad.
My biggest concern is exporting from iMovie, I want the best possibly quality.
